The Merrick Bank DISAPPOINTMENT I spent so much time with various customer service people today without getting any help.

Pretty much all negative . They all say they can help but don’t. I was sent to several people who says they can help. I was so frustrated. I’ve been with Merrick for many years..since 2013. I attempted to pay a 216.00 payment to IRS yesterday and was told my account was closed. I questioned who closed my account but no one had an answer. I was told that I closed my account which I DID NOT, no help what so ever. Then was told I would have to open a new account. Was no one concerned that my account was closed without any reason? I DID NOT CLOSE MY ACCOUNT. NO ONE TRIED TO HELP. V ERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. I would think Merrick would try to get to the bottom of this. A Stranger closing my account? Why and how? Your security leaves a lot to be desired. I expect someone with any authority at Merrick should check into this. If it happened to me it could happen to others. I will continue trying to get someone who cares to tell me why and how this has happened. I will not walk away from this.

The Merrick Bank Credit card

I have been trying to make a payment for 4 days. The app is down and so is website. Customer service, which is lord knows where, is rude, will not answer questions, leaves you on hold and hangs up. I've been calling for 4 days. They are the absolute worst to get anything resolved. I will not be paying any late fee for my payment seeing as there's no way to do that without calling customer service. I've currently been on hold for 20 minutes, she comes back on just now, says she's going to connect to a supervisor and hangs up. These are all different people and no one knows what they're doing. Not to mention that Merrick couldn't even let their customers know they were doing maintenance. This is out of control.

Claimed loss: Not being able to make a payment.

Desired outcome: A fixed app and website. Customer service in the United States.

The Merrick Bank Email address is wrong... Cannot change it from my tablet. All accounts are messed up

8/4/2023 Judy Foley last 4 account #2073 my email was changed to judyfoley.[protected]@outlook.com. hotmail mail address was hacked with tablet and was cancelled or disappeared somewhere in the Cloud... Account was blocked and locked and the new outlook one was issued with revisions.. All other banks and even Wal-Mart adjusted their records. Please do so ..You were on auto pay from my bank, they can not deliver your payments to a dead email address. A little motivation maybe. the outlook is my only e mail at the moment.

Desired outcome: fix my account so I can get in it. Put a human on the phone! Computers are no help.

The Merrick Bank Late payment on credit report

Merrick listed a payment from 2019 as 30 days late. I have tried multiple times to get them to correct this and remove it from credit report. I have been a customer for over 10 years and have never been late. Not sure whey MB refuses to correct a simple error for a long time, loyal customer. Their customer service reps were also extremely rude when contacted by phone.

The Merrick Bank Merrick Bank Security Dept

My card info was stolen and my account shut down about 2 weeks ago.

I still have not received my new card, nor have I been able to successfully speak to anyone in Merrick security Dept.

I cannot access my acct, see payment due, or any of the last activity from before they shut it down.

Today I called for the third time, still holding 1 1/2 hours later, after the canned apologies about me holding 2 hours on Fri and then I gave up.

They assured me that today would be different, then put me on hold 1 1/2 hrs ago,

I an furious and about to make a complaint to the FCC

The Merrick Bank Merrick Bank is taking my money from a double over payment

August 24, 2023, I mistakenly paid Merrick Bank (my credit card) a double payment. First was an advance schedule payment for for $3729 the correct bill amount. The second payment on same day August 24, 2023 I paid online $3600. I called Merrick Bank Friday, August 25, 2023 and a woman told me to call back in a few days to see if the department that handles over payment has worked on my refund of $3600 and was told it takes two to five business days to process. I called Merrick Bank back today and a representative told me there was no note in system and informed me it takes 30 days. She also told me the overpayment is now $3400, why are they taking my money? I’m a senior citizen on a fixed low income (social security)

Desired outcome: I want ALL of the $3400 over payment ASAP. Why do I have to wait 30 days

The Merrick Bank Merrick Bank Credit Carc

I moved in October 2022 and lost my wallet. This required me to get a new drivers license and all new credit cards. So I contacted Merrick Bank and the sent me a new card to the new address. When I went online and then called to activate the new card I was told that the would need to verify my identity. I sent a copy of my lease and my new license only to be told that they could not verify my identity. When I tried to pay I was unable to because of the verification issue. I went back and forth with the horrible customer service representatives for months never resolving the issue. Now they have placed the account in collections and massively hurt my score. And as of 8.22.23 I haven’t received anything from them.

Desired outcome: Remove from credit report and allow payment on the account to resume

The Merrick Bank Credit card

Applied for one of merrick credit cards, was approved and charged fees before even acctivating the account or receiving the card or an account number. Called customer service got two different answers neither of which solved the issue. Was told that's how we do things. When looking over the the info before applying it did not say anywhere that I would be charged before I even got the card or account number. I recieved nothing via email or text with terms and agreements and was told that I wouldn't until I received my card when talking to customer service. Had I known any of this from the beginning I would not have even considered the company. Seems like bad business practice and I can't even cancel because now I already owe money on a card I DON'T EVEN HAVE.

The Merrick Bank Credit card

This Credit Card Company is AWFUL. I have had the card for around 18 months, and have paid on it timely EVERY month. I recently went to make a payment and found that I was charged $30 interest for items I bought with the card (I may have spent $40 in total).

I check my account regularly, and have NEVER seen this before. I need an explanation and fast. I set my account to "freeze" mode to remind myself not to use it. The worst part is, when contacting Customer Service, the language barrier is really bad...and because of this AND the fact that you're on hold forever and transferred around, I just refuse to call them.

Please assist...

Desired outcome: I want the $30 removed, and an increase in my credit limit so that I can spend comfortably. Also, please try to hire people that can more clearly speak/and understand english speaking customers...

The Merrick Bank Charges I did not make Unauthorized charges

I have attached the charges that were charged to my account that I did not make. I would like to dispute these charges and have them removed. Charges were two on 6/16 At Departs signatures two on 6/11 to Lush Garden Harvest inn I didn’t make these transactions. I want to dispute them please.the charges were fraudulently made on 6/16/2023 at DEEPARTSIGNIFANCE [protected] FL 128.76 - 132.43 these were the two charges made on that day On 6/11/2023 a fraudulent charge was made for the amount of 128.76 to LUSH HARDEN HARVESTING [protected] NJ On 6/11/2023 A charge for 6.95 was made fraudulently to ACTIVE ARTS [protected] LA

The Merrick Bank rv loan

Don't ever do business with this company, I took out a financing loan for my rv july 2019 and 4 yrs later I owe more now than when I bought it, thats right no interest has been deducted from my loan, as many times as I have called and they tell me make these high payments for months and this will take care of your back interest owed from covid repreive, and then you will start seeing more principal going to loan, nothing has been put to principal, then today I get the same lady dana who has been telling me for over a yr now make these payments and you will start seeing money going to principal. They are liar, cheats, and them and all dealerships and banks should be not allowed to steal are hard earned money like this.

The Merrick Bank Inaccurate information reported on my credit report 2x30, 1x60 and 1 x90 days late.

First, I have never been late on any payment in 43 years from 1974 to 2018, at which time I injured by lower back, had surgery and did not work while recovering. I took out a credit card with Merritt Bank in February of 2022, in addition to my Merritt Bank credit card, I have credit cards with Premier Bank, Credit One Bank and Capital One Bank. I pay all four credit cards between the 1st and 3rd day of the month since that is when I receive my Social Security payment. I call each credit card company on the phone, make my monthly payment, and each gives me a confirmation number. My payments are always paid with a Debit Card from Chase or USAA, and I believed that like all of the cards my payment was made once they issued the confirmation number. It is in fact made with all of the credit cards except Merrick Bank I came to find out, after they were taking anywhere from six days to eight days to take their payments, it took several months to realized that my payment had been rejected for lack of funds due to other small monthly charges from Apple, Hulu, Netflix or some other charge had hit my account and my account was short to pay Merrick Bank...however, I clearly under the impression that once they issued their confirmation code I was paid for the month and good with the Bank...I disputed this delayed procedure of issuing a confirmation number but delaying taking the fees for a week or more from my account. So, on several occasions after discovering their (Merrick Bank) unorthodox procedure of collecting payments and called the customer service department and paid with my debit card...so you can use your debit card to pay if your late or want to make an extra payment, but not to make your normal monthly payment. Please look at the attached credit report and you will see that I have a perfect payment history with all of my other credit cards, however, Merrick Bank would want you to believe that I was late as stated above. Every month between the 1st and 3rd Merrick Bank was paid but would have you believe that I was 30, 60 and 90 days late with them, yet perfect payment history with the three other credit cards I have. I complained to the senior officers and Directors of Merrick Bank and this erroneous reporting to the credit bureau is, in my opinion, is in retaliation for complaining to the officers and Directors. Merrick Bank is in violation of FCRA for knowingly report information to the credit bureaus that they know is not accurate or truthful.

I hereby request that they remove all derogatory information from my report in writing to the bureaus with a copy of the letter to me and or delete my record completely from the bureaus.

Desired outcome: As stated above, remove all derogatory information from my file with the 3 bureaus and or delete my file completely from the bureaus...with a letter to the bureaus and a copy sent to me. Please call me at [protected].

The Merrick Bank Credit card

Merrick Bank blocked my card due to reasons beyond the scope of a customers knowledge and fault but onle accepts bill payments and I believe the closure of the card with no penalty should be honored due to the fact that they let a lot of people online information get stolen and it cost them millions of dollard, they are no longer using visa and now the customer cant use their card because we did not get a new one. I believe the company went belly up and they are looking for a parent or neighboring company to take over. we never received another card

The Merrick Bank No credit card arrived

Hi... I'm sorry to bother you but I'm getting nowhere on the phones with customer support.

I applied for your Merrick Bank credit card & was approved. I accepted the terms of the card arriving in 10-14 business days. As of today I've not received any credit card from Merrick bank. It's been over 21 business days & I was charged $75 for the initial usage & another $48 for the yearly charge. I don't mind the charges but not having the card in hand I'm thinking it was stolen. Please help.

How can I receive a bill when the card has not been received nor activated to my knowledge?

I am looking (online) for email addresses for anyone at Merrick Bank. So far, I have only found one. No response as of yet.

The Merrick Bank Credit card application

I filled out a credit card offer. A week goes by and I get a letter saying they need more info and provide a number to call. I call the number and get an automated message saying they can't take calls right now and hangs up on me. I Google the company to try to find a working number and call it only to be transferred to the same non-working number. I call again and they transfer me to another department with the same message. I call back again and explain and get told sorry we are having phone issues. The letter says if I don't call in 10 days I get automatically denied. Huge scam to get your info. They did hit my credit report as I get notified through ID watchdog.

The Merrick Bank Credit Card

I tried to close my account in August of 2022. Apparently, it never got closed and I was charged monthly fees. I realized that the account was not closed in October, but there were $10.00 in charges from the monthly fees which I immediately paid. They then reported me 30 days late through there automated reporting to the credit bureau which dropped my credit score by 60 points. I called and was told nothing could be done. How can a company report 30 days ate for service fees. IT WAS A TOTAL OF $9.00. This is asinine and needs to be rectified. This should not affect my credit. I have not used this card in years and have not been late on any payments for the past 10 years. FRUSTRATED:)

Same thing just happened to me. Just file a dispute with all 3 credit bureaus to get it removed. If that doesn't work, call them and don't accept the answer that they can't remove it. I worked with credit for 20 years. They definitely can, they just don't want to be bothered.

The Merrick Bank credit card ending in 4822

I believe on Sept 27 or 28 i called Merrick Bank to advise that my TD Bank payment to Merrick Bank was usually done by wire but a check was sent and I need to cover the $800.00 payment, because it can be debited before the date given. I wanted to make that payment on September 30th, so I called Merrick Bank to advise not to cash the check until September 30th but I was transferred to another division, and I advised the customer service agent this information and I she told me she will put a note in my file.

Well this check is still in limbo I have tried to contact Merrick bank to get answers, I called Oct 4 in the am getting ready for work but I could not hold on any longer (was over 25 min) so I thought I would call after work.

I called about 730p EST and after initial wait of 5 min or so. I pulled up my information and was transferred again and wait time was 45 min or so...finally I got someone to answer the call...but I didnt feel this person was wanting to help me...she placed me on hold to contact a department...after 8 min or so wait I and was disconnected ...she didn't even call me back.

I want to make purchases but unable. I am NOT a happy customer.

How Debt Collection Scams Work

It's very simple: Someone contacts you — often by phone, but also by text message, fax, mail or email — and claims that you owe a debt. The debt may be completely fake, canceled, discharged, forgiven or beyond the period for collection.

In any case, the scammer will use all sorts of techniques to get you to pay — intimidation, lies, harassment, etc.

I have been putting up with Vole Law Office and Merrick Bank intimidation, lies, harassment, etc for over 5 years! Attached letter from Velo Law Office dated September 6, 2022 sent to me after I requested that they stop contacting me in Accidence to The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

According to a Complaint I filed against Nationwide NCI with the CFPB Case Number [protected] Nationwide have No account in their system That matches the information MY LIGAL name Donald G. Clayton I filed with the CFPB.

The Merrick Bank Credit Card

I have also filed a report with the SEC concerning this.

At some point, likely when they switched from VISA to MC I detected an irregularity in my account that shows an extra $150 charge added to my account with no understanding based on the total debit and payments made. I noticed this error on the month following the transfer of funds but it is not apparent on the statements so I simply added all my debits and all my payments from the accounts origination and sure enough they are charging me an extra $150. Through multiple phone calls they have refused to acknowledge this my proof is simple they can add all my debits and my payments and see for themselves but they are refusing to do so. Now the phone system is not working properly and I cannot reach anyone. I will be mailing my complaints and evidence to them in the mean time I seek resolution.

Desired outcome: Acknowledge your error return my funds, stop defrauding customers and pay us restitution.

The Merrick Bank Non use of credit card

September 25, 2022, from 4:34p(?) to 5:12p

The first rep I spoke to…I literally explained everything to him, and he took my information as the owner of the card and began searching to see if he could help me. He then began speaking and started saying everything I already gave him. He tried a couple other things to help me and did it again, repeating what I said to him, not as a courtesy but as if he couldn’t hear or comprehend when I initially informed him of the reason for the call. After being perplexed about not understanding why I couldn’t use my card he proceeded to explain the transfer he was doing to the Security Department.

Security rep was talking as if she didn’t want to be on the call. It took a while for someone from that department to get on the phone and she got on with an attitude in her voice. She began to explain about transferring from Visa to MasterCard which wasn’t necessary because that isn’t what I called about and we NEVER got to what I was on hold that long for, which was the fact that I couldn’t use my car to pay for an auto repair. After the rep explained about the credit card switch, I asked her for a Corporate number. Oh yes, she is extremely silent on the phone, dead silence. So while I am waiting for Security Rep to give me Corporates number, I get transferred back to Customer Service. What in the world is going on with Merrick?

I laughed because when she told me I couldn’t use my card until I got the one in September, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. So, Merrick is allowing their customers to go without using their cards for weeks instead of sending them the new card to replace the old one so that they could continue use of the card if they wanted to. Noooooooo, how ridiculous. According to your Security Department Rep I can’t use my card again until September 2, 2022.

I know I am leaving out some more “mess” that went on…listen to the recording. Lack of knowledge about products and unprofessional behavior. World is changing true enough but respect and courtesy for customers and/or clients should never be taken off the table.

I am a great customer, client whatever category you want to put it, but today after being declined for non-use of my card 4 times. 3 times at the auto shop and once at Chase bank. I don’t understand the lack of professionalism and not knowing the reason I couldn’t use my card!

I hope Merrick finds or gives training to your representatives in ALL departments, because customers and/or clients do use your card and I am quite sure make you a lot of money in doing so.

BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NEEDED.
