Homestar was paid by the mortgage company to do some repairs, but they didn't finish them
Homestar was paid by the mortgage company to do some repairs, but they didn't finish them. They even caused damage to the property and didn't bother fixing it. The repairs that were paid for remained unfinished, and their subcontractors caused additional damage. They basically just stopped working and left without fulfilling their responsibilities. Now there's about $25,000 worth of work that still needs to be done.
I wanna know why we got an email from a collections lawyer, RSTONE firm, when our job was "completed" in SEPT 2020
I wanna know why we got an email from a collections lawyer, RSTONE firm, when our job was "completed" in SEPT 2020. The invoice was paid for the 6 month awful job. They left an unfinished, uneven wall, the floor was laid incorrectly TWICE and the floor contractor and cabinet contractor fought over who's job it was to install the trim under the cabinets so we had to do that ourselves as well as hire another contractor to fix the wall. We have had no communications since Sept 2020. The invoice was paid in full. Now an invoice for under $300 pops up out of nowhere and a $250 charge to the collections agency? I don't think so! We are PAID. Now a law office is harassing us and emailing and calling. Every time we give the payments for invoices he disregards and just sends another invoice.
Homestar Group was a contractor that my insurance agency (Allstate) preferred
Homestar Group was a contractor that my insurance agency (Allstate) preferred. They were recommended to me to speed up the process of getting my repairs done because Allstate took a whole month to respond and approve the repairs. On July 27th, I met with Bryan King from Homestar and expressed my frustration about the insurance company's slow response. I explained that I needed the repairs done as soon as possible because I had my child who was supposed to come and get ready for school, but couldn't because my house was damaged and where I was staying couldn't accommodate another person. Bryan assured me that everything would be taken care of promptly. However, it is now August 30th, and Homestar has already been paid by Allstate, but the work hasn't even started yet. I asked for a refund due to their poor business management, but my request was ignored, and I expressed my frustration to everyone involved.

I was told about Homestar Group for repairs & restorations 'cause of a leak in my upstairs bathroom in February
I was told about Homestar Group for repairs & restorations 'cause of a leak in my upstairs bathroom in February . We signed the agreement for the repairs needed on May 21. 'Cause of the pandemic, we knew their supplies might be delayed. It took a few weeks before any work started. Finally, on August 12, they began the work. It's now the end of November , and my kitchen ain't finished, and the work that's been done is not good. They sent me invoices for $13,000 for incomplete work. The contractor has to fix things that weren't done right. I asked the project manager before to come see the work the contractor did, but he didn't. Finally, someone came to see the work, but it was 2 months later. He said things weren't done right and that the contractor would come back. The contractor came back, but didn't do much. Some of my cabinets are missing shelves, they ain't adjusted properly, the paint is chipped, and some other things ain't finished. 'Cause of all the back and forth, I contacted my insurance adjuster after six months and told him I don't wanna work with them anymore and about the problems I've been having. I guess the insurance company contacted them 'cause since I talked to the adjuster, I'm getting emails, invoices, and texts from the company. The project manager is trying to blame me for the contractors not coming to my house, but that ain't true. Now he wants to find a new contractor to finish the job. I don't trust them or any of their contractors to come into my home and do good work. This whole situation has messed with my health. I'm a disabled veteran and a woman who feels like they took advantage of me.
