Negligent house cleaning
DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS UNLESS CHANGES ARE MADE IN THE QUALITY OF THEIR SERVICE. My housemate and I hired The Cleaning Authority of Salt Lake City under the management of Michael to clean our condo. Prior to the arrival of the company's cleaning team Jason and Fernanda, we had prepared a list of things we wanted them to do while cleaning here. Upon their announcement that they were finished and left, we inspected the house for the thoroughness of the tasks we'd asked to be be done on the list. Much to our dismay, we discovered that NO dusting had been done. There was still garbage on the kitchen floor beneath the kitchen garbage can and floor heater. Neither the appliances or exposed open shelves had been dusted at all. Still on the area rug on the livingroom floor was an open carton with uneaten french fries sitting there on the floor beside the reclining chair. On the floor in the bathroom between the emptied garbage can and wall was a dirty, used cotton swab. When we called the company asking that the cleaning team return to finish the job, Jason was belligerent towards us when we pointed out these areas to him claiming that the things were "hidden". Obviously he had not bothered to move anything to sweep, mop or vacuum beneath or around them. The man just said belligerently for us to "call the company". I told the man it was stupid of him to not move things to clean thoroughly. They left. When speaking to Michael the manager about this incident he seemed to side with his disrespectful, unthorough cleaners believing the man that we dropped the 'f' bomb and was "hostile" towards them when the truth is we were not at all. We DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USE THIS BUSINESS IF THEY WANT A GOOD THOROUGH CLEANING DONE IN THEIR HOME.

Employee treatment/ work safety
This specific cleaning authority at 19401 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ has numerous issues surrounding the management and workplace environment. For example, The quality inspector Winter, and the manager Dulce would often hold meetings, accusing us employees of starting rumors of their close friends,( which were also employees )of stealing tips. I later...
Read full review of The Cleaning AuthorityI requested a deep cleaning because I was fixing to put my home on the Market. That's not what I received.
I used the Services of this Company and was very disappointed. They had to come back out twice after this so called $500.00 deep cleaning. There were things that weren't dusted. The 2 inch blinds looked like they ran a quick duster over them they looked horrible. My windows had some cob webs left that they didn't even wipe down. I had a mirror in my dining room they did not even windex. I told my neighbors about my bad experience they came inside my home and said Wow this is not a deep cleaning everyone was floored they said you need a refund. I asked for a refund they said NO refunds. I could go on and on the moral to the story is DO not use this Company. I got taken advantage of. A total rip off.

1st deep clean, what a sham!!!
March 30th 2023 TCA Tampa came in for their first deep cleaning. They should be charged for false advertisement. Their marketing company is genius, there cleaners are inept. First visit, was supposed to be a deep clean of the kitchen and bathroom. They did a quarter of what they describe on their website. They didn't dust furniture and they missed so much. My wife as home at the time and she didn't want to be hovering over while they work. My advice to you is if you have the opportunity to be home while they work, hover over them and make sure they are doing what they advertised. They were at my home for only 2 hours to clean, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a dining room and bar area as well as the a kitchen and eating area. The supervisor came in and couldn't believe the poor job they had done. She tried to rectify the incompetent cleaning by going over everything herself for an additional 2 hours. She apologized profusely and told us on the 2nd deep cleaning she would send her best people to perform the cleaning. I appreciate her effort to try to right the wrong, but it was too late for me. You should have sent the best to begin with. I have had other cleaning people in my house. They at least waited several months before they started slacking off on their cleaning. The cleaning authority didn't wait to slack off, they slacked off on their very first visit. The fee was $220 for the first 2 visits and $160 per visit after that. They charged me $160 instead of of the $220. They should not have even charged me for the terrible service that was provided. I don't know about the cleaning authority in your state or area, but the one from Tampa SUCKS! Do not hire this outfit unless you are OK with subpar service,
Disappointed and the crew stole from my house
The location in Newport News Virginia is horrible and apparently hiring thieves to work for them. We started service back in Nov 22 and things seemed okay, not great but okay. The level of service steadily dropped and at the end of January I called and cancelled the service. The manager, Yolanda Waters, talked me into giving them one last chance.
I agreed, I wish I hadn't.
I care for a 91yo parent and this crew stole her purse right out of the house. I filed a police report but in this day and age it's a petty crime and they won't do anything. I contacted this "manager" and she said her crew denied taking it but did say that they saw it.
She has refused to do anything more.
She will not give the names of the people on the crew. She will not give me the name of the owner of that franchise because I'm sure he or she would be very interested in this. As far as the business being bonded and insured, it's a joke if they stonewall you when something goes bad and refuse to deal with it.
Desired outcome: I want this company to make restitution on the cost of having to replace the property, have the locks changed on my home, and the cost of replacing and reprogramming the keyless entry fob fory car!
Zero service
Joseph Roth, Urbandale owner of The Cleaning Authority toured my home and I signed contract for services. He even recorded my credit card information for billing when future home cleaning services were to start. NO services have been set or started. He has not responded to my communication regarding booking or start of cleaning services. This is not only highly unethical conduct, I am worried about him personally that something may have happened. He seemed like a very genuine person.
Desired outcome: Cleaning services.
Cleaning of home
Cleaning Authority supposedly cleaned my home yesterday for $196.00. The job was to focus on my spare bedrooms which they left the bed unmade, blankets and pillows on the floor and dust in the window sill. They were to also focus on the office, but they didn't take out both trash cans, dust the shelves and window sill. They only vaccuumed. They were also to concentrate on the floors but let knats and dirt in the corner of kitchen. The toilet rims had mold still left on them. I do NOT recommend the over priced, shoddy job company. I left 2 complaints early this morning at 9:00 a.m., no reply back, the only thing they did was charge me $196.00 for nothing.
Look how they left my bedroom. They didn't touch it, yet in the work order they state they will clean the spare bedrooms.
Desired outcome: Cancel my services is my desired outcome.
complaining about an employee
I have called yesterday to cooperate and made a complaint and i feel as though the situation was not handled properly. The reason for the call was because i am mutual friends with someone on social media who is an employee with cleaning authority and the employee has been posting pictures in the customers house and you can see the inside of the house and you can can also see the family portraits very clear in the picture which i think is wrong and against the customer privacy with the picture being on social media and she puts im at work in this lady mirror, someone commented on the picture and said if i was you i would crop the family out the picture, and there also a video with the same employee in front of a customer house drinking liquor how can you have such an employee at work doing this none sense. thats not right at all. i will not stop until justice is done . and the manager contacted me and said idk who you are or who they are but it makes since if you contact the employee who worked on that day 8/1/2019 and see what houses she did that day and do a proper investigation why the customers rights not being taken serious this customer don't even know that there on social media what so ever what if they have job that requires them not to be on Facebook.
located in Trenton NJ employee name Shaniwka Murphy i have photos and videos of the situation
mediocre service and forceful rules for the client to follow, like signing a "contract".
Having to deal with this company has been extremely stressful and disappointing.
They are really out to make money and not please their customers, therefore, they display very bad customer service.
If you need to call them, they can take as much as 24 hours to respond.
If you decide to "cancel" the contract because you are NOT satisfied with them, you are penalized with extra charges, which you are OBLIGED to pay because they ask you to give them your credit card information.
Very deceitful manner to conduct an honorable and decent business.
I so regret having contacted them and I would most definitely NOT recommend this company.
huntington owner/staff. horrible customer service
I have a cleaning rotation scheduled every other Wednesday at noon. Today August 2nd I hear banging on my front after just putting my baby down for a nap and going to shower. I hear the doorbell ringing constantly, jump out of shower and it's the cleaning crew at 10:40 am. This is not there scheduled time, I was not able to answer door. I continued to hear banging and the doorbell. My baby woke screaming and then they were gone. I contated the owner, expressing how upset this made me and he could care less. Talked about a summer schedule which I was never made aware of and instead of saying I will address this with my staff, he apologized and asked if I wanted them to come back. He couldn't even realize that having a baby and people banging down your door is wrong, I haven't been happy with their cleaning either so I decided this was the icing on the cake and told him. He just said thanks for the opportunity, didn't even ask why I felt that way so he could better inform his staff for the future. I told the owner im going to put his customer service out there because he could care less. TERRIBLE in my opinion and they don't even clean well..
not cleaning thoroughly
I called on 2 different occasions to complain and also addressed the issue when I was called for confirmation of my appointment. I expressed that they make sure that these items were addressed when they came back to clean. I came home after my scheduled cleaning to find out that these items still were not done. I called the office and left a message and was never called back. When I called them they stated that they did not remember what my complaint was and I demanded a refund and cancelled my service. He stated that he would not offer a refund and I told him I was going to complain and stop payment on my check. They are unprofessional and do not care about their clients.
Cleaning Service - Palm Harbor
Was so disappointed with the "promise" and the reality of their Service. First cleaning was to be a deep clean. Bed not made, handles of refrigerator not wiped, cushions on couch is disarray, and waste baskets not emptied. One of the major difficulties is the clean team didn't understand English - but had not supervision. Can't recommend them, and Brent the owner not responsive.
Unethical behavior - stealing
I had my second cleaning on 11/01/2016 from the cleaning authority crew. They performed the second deep cleaning as part of a bi-weekly cleaning plan.
Noticed missing watch and bracelets that we specifically put in the drawers out of plain sight before the service started. Ended up filing a Police report for stolen jewelry. Two items from different drawers in the bedroom were stolen during cleaning totaling > 1000 dollars. Not pleased about the theft obviously.
Cleaning was actually pretty good aside from the theft. Not sure which one of the 3 women that came to the house was the perpetrator.
Gary lenard, owner
The Cleaning Authority on ISOM Road in San Antonio owned by Gary Lenard had been cleaning our home for the last year, bimonthly.
I called after the last cleaning which was of extremely poor quality( in and out in less than 2 hours - bathrooms left unclean, floors sticky... and we had company coming so I recleaned myself) with a simple request, or so I thought. Could the office please notify me if the cleaning team members were going to be switched, so I could be prepared to assist them and also review the needs in our home. Another option I proposed was to send out a supervisor to check the team's work if a switch out of maids was made.
When I called about the poor clean, the office manager Ester was extremely rude and gave me a long list of her problems - high staff turnover, timelines to meet regarding homes being cleaned... and then was told during the call our fee was going up $10 a clean. We were already paying $127 a trip, always have the house ready for them to service and often tip the cleaners.
I did not agree to a cost increase - I requested a callback from the owner three times and finally talked with him after a two week wait, when I insisted on holding on the phone for him. The next visit, the maids told me they could no longer clean our family room couch, or the 2 bathrooms. After responding in writing regarding the unexpected changes made, they cancelled services with us. Really - don't use them to clean your home. Extremely poor leadership from the owner and office manager.
Was a good, honest, caring company until new ownership in march of 2015.
I was the General Manager for this location for 10 years. I quit working there because the new owner is a money grubbing, prejudice, non caring, sorry excuse for a man that does not care about his employees or customers. Talked very nasty about the hard working cleaners because of them not being white (I am white so this is not about myself but I have morals and refuse to work for someone so disrespectful). Started ripping off customers and jacking up prices ridiculously.
I was contacted by The Cleaning Authority Management today. Awesome that they care enough to read their reviews! Big thumbs up. After discussing the issues, I hung up the phone happy with the way they operate.
Very poor cleaning service
October - November 2015 We have a 2600 sq. ft. house in Richmond VA. When we first signed up with Cleaning Authority everything sounds great. The first cleaning was very good. But the second cleaning (deep cleaning costing extra) was just the opposite. - Bathroom floor not cleaned - Blinds were not dusted - Cobwebs not removed - Ceiling fans not dusted - Overall cleaning very poor After this experience we went online and found others have had the same experience. Bottom line -- we would not recommend this company
Being unsanitary!!!
This is why i quit working at the "cleaning authority:" they are very unprofessional and i am so sick of customers getting screwed over . They like to over charge customers and do not pay there employee's what they are promised ! It is truly disgusting to me and to be quite honest very unsanitary ! If i were paying a company say $90 to clean my home and just because they didn't want to refuse a job because of money and i found out the cleaners brought in roaches from another client's home into mine there would be a law suit ! And i know almost all of the amazing women and guy that have worked there butts off and love the customers and truley do a spectacular job to keep there clients satisfyied and have no other choice but to stay because money is so tight, this needs to be heard about !
Anyone: if your boss said go into a dirty house with roaches or get fired...What would u do?

Terrible employer
Do not work for this company. They treat their employees very poorly and break the law by docking pay if you call of sick. Not only do they dock your pay for every single hour you are going to work that week or have worked that week, but they will give you all kinds of crap for doing so and want to know every detail of your personal life. They also believe you should know when you are going to get sick. They even have it on the request time off sheet! Plus, they do say that when you call off sick. Then, there is the inspection. The inspection is terrible because it is never consistent. You get in trouble for doing things a certain way, then do them the way the inspector tells you to do them and then get in trouble for doing them that way- again! You CANNOT win. You also CAN do TOO good of a job and you will get into trouble if you do anything "extra." Their system is poor. Also, when I worked there I saw a girl eating a customers food. We aren't supposed to eat in the homes, let alone food the customer has in their pantry that is closed when they are not home. Oh, it gets better though. They blame being understaffed on the people that quit, but its really because of how rude they are to their employees. Their policies are a big fat joke. How much more can I say? It seems like this just won't end. Most of the cleaners use the same sponges in the bathroom as the kitchen and they clean the bathrooms first in all homes... that is cross contamination! They claim they look at houses before they send cleaners over, and they do, but then claim they did not know the conditions of some of the homes. One home that was scheduled to take 1 hour took 3 hours and still didn't get done. Why? it was 40, 00 sq. feet. The inspector came at 2.5 hours after we were there, telling us, obviously, that they knew it would take longer. They also pay you .30 cents per mile that you drive- according to google maps, not your actual mileage. All around, they are a very crooked company that will tell you they pay better than anyone in the area, but I tell you a job at mcdonalds would be more satisfying and fair to their employees. No way some of this stuff is even legal.
Waited 2 1/2 weeks to get in the rotation.. Then on start day they were 2 1/2 hours late. They sent another lady who told me she was the Manager. One did not speak any english (even after the owner Shay said the all do) When Mgr began to complain about people calling in sick, I stopped and told her I didnt want to hear it. They are ill equipped!
BRIDES BEWARE! they run this place like a nascar pit stop very rude my maid of honor was told they only has a half hourto doher hair
I had some items come up missing after a cleaning by this company. Given that they are the only people with keys to my house and we are certain our 3 year old didnt pull off the theft, they are still denying any reponsibility.
The Cleaning Authority of Charlotte, NC. Al Swain, proprietor. They sent a cleaning team to my house on a day that I did not authorize and then charged me a $99.50 lockout fee for an appointment that I never made!
Throwing things away
My mom had a new thing of dr pepper not even opened and they through it away. I had this green basket full of nail polish and nail tools and yes there was a couple of cutips in it they thought it was a garbage can and through away about $100-$200 worth of nail stuff and then a I left my earphones in my bed and now they are nowhere to be found.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Bad support
Someone from the Cleaning Authority keeps reaching out to me over and over again. I finally call them back to see what kind of incentives they have to offer and they are pushing me onto the backburner. I can never get a straight answer as to how much everything will cost. I am not sure if this is a language barrier or I keep calling them when the people who are in charge are out of the office.
The thing that really appeals to me about them is that they are good for the environment. This is very important to me. However they are not good at giving me a quote or a straight answer. Has anyone worked with them in the past? Any success stories? Any complaints? I can’t really find any information on them at all.
I can tell you that they are horrible at customer service and need to work on how to communicate with people. Why can’t I get a straight answer from them?
