The A Team Appliance Repair review: We called this company to replace my refrigerator door gasket

We called this company to replace our refrigerator door gasket. They informed us there would be an $80 service/diagnostic fee. Before booking, we specifically asked for an estimate of the replacement cost and were told the technician carried generic parts and that it "shouldn't cost much."

When the technician arrived, he didn't even bother to inspect whether the door seal actually needed replacement. He simply opened the refrigerator door, looked at it, and immediately quoted us $210 for labour plus $287 for a single-door gasket (including shipping), bringing the total to nearly $500.

Paying almost $500 just to replace a door gasket on a refrigerator that cost around $700 makes no sense. After we declined the repair, the technician handed us an invoice for $90 and asked for payment.

We found the pricing to be completely unreasonable and felt there was a lack of transparency from the start. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this company. Make sure you get a written estimate before booking any service.
