I hired Tax Rise to help resolve a 12,000 IRS tax debt after their representative assured me that my liability could likely be reduced to 4,000 or less. Based on these assurances, I paid them a fee of $4,250. However, after three months, I was ultimately required to pay nearly the full original amount to the IRS, plus additional penalties. Throughout the process, I was the one reaching out to Tax Rise for updates about the IRS results, rather than receiving proactive communication from them. Communication was inconsistent, and my concerns were not adequately addressed.
When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the outcome and the process, I was told that no refund was possible, even though I was never clearly informed that their intervention might not reduce my debt at all. Tax Rise did not deliver the results they suggested were likely, nor did they provide the level of transparency, communication, and support I expected.
I would advise others to be very cautious before engaging their services.
Regarding your response below: No one from Tax Rise has tried to contact me without me responding. I made an appointment with the Quality Assurance Team on August 13th, and after waiting 30 minutes for the scheduled call, I was offered a 500, then 750 refund from the $4,250 I paid, but only on the condition that I remove any negative review online. Tax Rise stated they could not do anything else for me. Again, what you say and what you actually do is not the same. There is clearly no genuine interest in resolving this issue, and this experience has caused financial harm to me.
