Not a scam, but close
I would avoid any offer that involves Tango “cards.” * THRICE now I’ve not been able to use them because of how complicated they are. First, you have to keep a close eye on the expiration date: Cards are often not good for long — 3 months tops. Second, there are too many confusing, arcane hurdles you must clear online to redeem them. I wouldn’t be...

I gotta say, Tango Card is a pretty solid company. I'd give 'em a decent rating, 'cause they're pretty spot-on most of the time. But, ya know, they do have a few little hiccups here and there. Nothing major, though. All in all, they're pretty good.
I've used Tango Card a few times now, and I gotta say, they're pretty accurate. I've never had any major issues with 'em. But, like I said, they do have a few little faults. Nothing too crazy, but it's worth mentioning.
Overall, I'd say Tango Card is a pretty good company. They're accurate, and they get the job done. Keep up the good work, Tango Card!

These cards suuuuuuuuuuuck.
All awards at my company come with Tango cards. They used to be easy to use. After they were acquired by Blackhawk it's literally become the most frustrating process to use one of these cards. They almost never work - it's a literal miracle if I can get one to work at a retailer I want to buy anything from. And the time and mental gymnastics it takes to jigger your order to be just under the max allowed on the card is lame. You can't use them to buy gift certificates at your favorite store that you might be able to combine with a different credit card. And even if you do manage to get your cart within $10 of the card amount, the card probably just won't work. I've had this experience repeatedly, over and over. It's not worth the time it takes to try to use them. So hundreds of dollars are just going to expire because they don't work. Even at retailers they say are "preferred" and where you might get an extra discount (looking at you, athleta). I've registered on their MyPrepaid site over and over to try to see if I can figure out what's wrong with the cards, why they don't work, and it keeps forgetting my password. I will change it, it will say it's successfully changed, and then I can't log in with the new password. Rinse, repeat. It is MADDENING. I'm telling our admins not to purchase anymore and they'll share with other admins. I work for a huge tech company and so many people have this experience. It will hurt their business.
Recommendation: Tell your HR people to just offer a variety of gift cards to specific retailers instead of this absolute garbage
