Swap-A-DVD is a really cool idea, but it doesn't work out so well in practice. To put it simply, you'll never get the DVDs you want from this site, no matter how cheap and easy to find they are on other online retailers. I've been a member for six months now and I've sent out a whopping twenty-five DVDs, but I've only received one in return. And to make matters worse, it was a public domain version of Bob Hope's Son of Paleface, which I could have easily bought for just a few bucks on Amazon or eBay.

Now, I understand that not all of the DVDs I sent out were rare or expensive, but at least half of them were readily available and selling for very low prices online. But for some reason, other members just don't seem to post anything valuable on the site. So if you're thinking about joining Swap-A-DVD, be prepared to waste a lot of money and time. You can post a bunch of DVDs and ship them out, but don't expect to get anything in return.

But hey, if you're feeling particularly altruistic, then go ahead and join up. Just don't expect to get your DVDs back. Personally, I'd love to have my DVDs back, but I guess that's just not going to happen. All in all, Swap-A-DVD is a pretty disappointing site.
