I am filing this complaint against Superprof due to their deceptive billing practices and use of "dark patterns." When attempting to contact a tutor, the platform signs you up for a recurring monthly subscription called "Student Pass" without clear or explicit disclosure.
I discovered unauthorized charges on my account despite having zero activity on the platform. When I contacted their customer support to request a full refund, they initially refused, claiming it was my responsibility to cancel a service I never intentionally joined.
It was only after I informed them that I would be filing a formal legal complaint with PROFECO (Mexico’s Consumer Protection Agency) and leaving negative reviews on Trustpilot that they changed their tone. Even then, they only offered a "50% partial refund" as a supposed gesture of goodwill.
I refuse to accept a 50% "deal" for money that was taken through misleading tactics. Superprof is knowingly charging users for services not rendered and then trying to negotiate to keep half of the stolen funds. I demand a 100% refund and want to warn other users to avoid this site and go straight to their banks to dispute any charges.
