I am filing a complaint regarding StyleTribute for selling an item that was misrepresented as “New With Tags” and then refusing to accept responsibility once the misrepresentation was identified.
I purchased a luxury clothing item through a third-party marketplace where StyleTribute was the fulfillment seller. The item was explicitly listed as New With Tags. When it arrived, it was immediately clear that it was not new:
• The tags were not original retail tags and appeared to be reattached
• The item showed signs of prior handling and wear
• There were indicators of prior resale, including non-original tagging
• The care label showed signs consistent with prior cleaning, which should not occur on a genuinely new item
I documented these issues with photographs and contacted the marketplace. The marketplace acknowledged in writing that the tags were not consistent with a true “New With Tags” condition and escalated the issue to StyleTribute for approval of a return or refund.
StyleTribute has refused to accept the return and has declined to resolve the issue, despite the item being clearly misrepresented at the time of sale.
This creates a serious consumer issue:
• StyleTribute appears to be selling used or previously handled items as “New With Tags”
• When challenged with evidence, they decline accountability
• The burden is shifted to the buyer, even when the listing condition is inaccurate
I am seeking resolution in the form of a refund or restoration of the value paid, as well as documentation of how StyleTribute verifies and represents item condition before selling.
I am submitting this complaint so there is a public record of this experience, as I do not believe this is an isolated incident. Buyers should be aware of the risks when purchasing items represented as new by StyleTribute.
