Slate Legal Group was supposd to help me with debt relief. But they took almost $18,000 and asked for more money for the program. They haven't settled any of my debt. I want all my money back so I can deal with these problems myself. I also complained to the PA *** And I'm gonna hire a lawyer to help me with this problem.

On February 18th, I got an email from Versara Lending Group sayin' they denied my application. I was all sorts of confused 'cause I never even applied or gave permission for someone to apply for me. This happened after I had a chat with *** at Slate Legal Group where I agreed to have a chat with a Versara representative. I've been tryin' to sort this out with Slate and Versara, but nothin' seems to be workin' out.

I gave Slate Legal more than 5K since August '20 and they haven't settled any of my accounts yet. I got creditors reaching out to me with offers while Slate keeps taking my money and not doing anything about it. Out of the 5K plus I gave them, they say I only get 600 back. It's against the law for debt consolidation companies to keep fees when they haven't settled ANY accounts. My next move is to go to the attorney general this week. In times like these, companies like Slate Legal target desperate folks and scam them out of their own money. I won't quit until I get all my money back. I paid for a service that I never got.

I signed up with Slate Legal Group 'bout 16 months ago hopin' they'd help me with my debt. At first, things were goin' alright 'til I started gettin' sued by my creditors. Slate didn't keep up with the court deadlines and didn't negotiate good settlements, even though I gave 'em extra money to avoid court. They also said I'd have an attorney at my disposal, but after endless phone calls, I had to go to the hearin' all by myself. I tried callin' 'em every day for legal advice, but my calls always got dropped before I could talk to anyone. They stick to their *** but that only applies to the first person who answers your call. It's impossible to get a supervisor or negotiator on the phone. They also promised to negotiate my debt, but once I got served with the summons, they settled for almost the whole amount, which is just laughable. If I knew this from the start, I would've handled it myself and gotten a better outcome.

A rep called me in Feb of this year cuz he saw I was in hella debt. Back then, my credit was solid and I never missed a payment. He told me to roll with Slate to combine my debts and pay them instead of my credit cards. I already paid over $800.00 for 5 months, but Slate ain't even started the combo yet. I asked to cancel and get my cash back, but they only wanna give me $314.57. They say the rest of the $4,000 I paid was all fees. Other companies say that's illegal, they can't charge me if they ain't started the combo. Slate says I signed the contract and can't do nothin' about it. Now I'm tryna work with my debtors to fix my debts, but if they don't help, I gotta find another company. I ain't givin' Slate Legal Group any more money. They blocked me from my account, so I don't even have the docs I signed.

This is my second complaint with this company and now things are worse. My husband and I enrolled in a debt resolution program with Slate Legal Group on Jan 2021 after my husband lost his job due to COVID and was without work for several months. The bills, of course, piled up and our credit cards skyrocketed. Enrolling in this program was our last resort. After almost a year of paying Slate Legal Group, my husband and I both get served for court by 2 of our accounts enrolled. We then find out that our credit cards had never been contacted by Slate and had never started any negotiation with them. That's when I filed my 1st ComplaintsBoard.com complaint and of course, magically a few days later I was contacted by a representative of Slate. I had been solely speaking to this representative for the past 7 months and everything was going to plan, or I thought. One of the accounts that was suing is *** continued their legal process and issued their final judgment. Now the representative that I had been dealing with for the past 7 months is *** I have no way of contacting him are not only has our debt not being negotiated but it has grown substantially. This company has destroyed our lives! I have been in and out of the hospital due to all this stress and now our debt is even worse. Meanwhile, this company has taken over 15K of our money and resolved 0 of our accounts. I will be taking this to the media in the hopes of everyone to know to avoid this company.
