I want to say that Seattle Coffee Direct is a huge scam... I signed up for their trial offer and got over charged too... Then I took care of it told them I didn't want anything from them anymore and they refunded that money. Imagine my surprise when I checked my account today, a year later, and they had taken out 79.00 dollars.. I tried to call them and was hung up on three times... when I finally got to talk to someone they said it was a computer era. I told them my money better be refunded... they told me it would be but we will see... watch your backs when it comes to this scam. This is a serious thing when times are as hard as they are now!

I too have been a victom of the seattle bean company scam i thought i was purchasing a sample product and the next thing i know ive recieved 5 shipments totaling over $190 .00 after about the second shipment i called the company to find out why i was recieving so much coffee they said i had agreed to the purchase which i didnt . at that point i canceled any subscription to their product and was told by their customer service just to return it for a refund which i did .but here it is three months later and i still havent gotton a refund i called the company for a second time and their rep said to send my last package directly to their office and not the wearhouse and i would have a quicker response .when i sent it back to the new location i placed a tracker on the package to see how long it would take to reach them and to make sure it did .well it took just three days to reach their office still no refund . ive disputed their charges w/ my credit card company they think there a repedable company . i guess they havent done buisness w/ them I WOULD SUGGEST THAT NO-ONE DO BUISNESS WITH THEM

I was just charged $79 by their other persona, PosterPass.com a few days ago. It seems like $79 is their current favorite number and they're making fraudulent charges for that amount all over the place. I do not have a "membership" to their site and haven't purchased anything from them... it's 100% theft.

I contacted my bank, the Better Business Bureau, AND their "customer service" line... I'm just hoping it results in getting my money back! Good luck to you. :(

I just got off the phone with them and I am another one of the scam victims. I ordered their coffee and then I cancelled my order, 3 months later I see a charge on my account. I was like what the heck? Their answer was that they never received my cancellation adn who did I talk to? Who did I talk to? Like I am going to remember a name from 3 months ago. I said it was a guy, as if I wrote it down. Anyway, I reported them to the BBB. The government needs to investigate this company and their business practices, this is illegal! What are we supposed to do, stop shopping online? By the way, a little fyi, this company is owned by a parent company, PEEL, INC. And they have many companies, D+ on the BBB scale.

I thought I was only ordering 2 pounds of coffee for a nominal introductory charge, but after I received my coffee, I was charged $25 plus two separate foreign transaction fees. I thought the charge was more than I agreed to, but I chalked it down to not thoroughly reading the fine print. Then the following week I was charged $79 for coffee I never received and another $79 was charged to my account the week after that so I'm out about $190! I'm cancelling my card and filing a dispute now, but based on the complaints I've read, I'm not very hopeful that my money will be refunded.

Seattle Coffee Direct is absolutley a rip off. I kept receiving pounds of coffee on a weekly basis, even though I wrote refused on the package and UPS took them back, Seattle Coffee Direct kept removing $39.70 out of my account. I was told by Seattle Coffee to write refused on the package. They also told me that they stopped shipments, and they also told me my money would be refunded 1 to 2 business days, now it's 30 days for a refund. Shipments have stopped but no money has been refunded to me.

i am so glad i had found out this complaint site about seattle coffee direct. this company is a total scam. beware! after i signed up for the $2.00 trial offer, i've got my order but they've sent tea and coffee flavors that i did not order. so i called them and complained about the wrong flavors that they've sent. the representative assured me that they will send me the flavors that i've ordered and even assured me that i won't be billed for the wrong shipment and i don't have to return the coffees and teas. so another shipment came and the flavor was wrong again. it happened three times in a row. so i keep calling about the wrong flavor and i was told that i am not being charged at all since i always received the wrong flavors. but when i called my credit card company i' ve found out that they keep charging me for the flavors that they keep sending. eventhough on the packet shipment got $00.00
total charge for each. they took over $300.00 on my account. when i called their office again and cancel everything and confronted them about the issues they are really rude, one rep. even hang-up on me. and they don't have email address. got a hard time calling their office too. they send coffees and teas that i did not order. i am going to return everything that they've sent and hoping that they will refund everything that they charged me. i hate this company and the people behind it. i am going to report them to business bureas. they are sssssoooooooo FAKE!

I placed my first order with them less than 10 days ago. They are supposed to be bi=monthy or twice a month. Now they have charged over 78.00 to my credit card. I just got the first box of coffee with the preliminary offer in it three days ago. I will be contacting our BBB's office and the appropriate law enforcement officials. This is a major rip off.

You don't have time to try the coffe or cancel after the first shipment before they start charging your card loads of money.

Such a scam..I call customer service and they tell me that I signed up for once a week shipments! I did no such thing. There wasn't even that option on the site that I filled out, I went over it with a fine toothed comb with my husband at the time. What's with the 'we may send you orders more or less frequently'? A business shouldn't be ran that way at all. It says at the bottom in fine print that you get bi-weekly shipments but they may send them more often and you'll get to pay for every single shipment even if it is every week instead of every other. Half the time, it was not even the right coffee! They tell me to send it back, but they won't send me a confirmation email saying they have received it and that my refund is being sent. Sounds fishy to me..

Here's what someone else posted as a complaint and what they did about it.

"Here is what you do; Go to this link: https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx
it will provide you with a form to fill out. I choose 'misrepresentation of product/service' on the pull down menu. Make sure you have the company information prior to this. You need the company name and addy to file the complaint; Seattle Coffee Direct 990 Grove Street Suite 204 Evanston, IL 60201 Phone #: [protected]. After reading all the complaints I’m appalled. Don’t let them get away with this."

I filed a complaint and I hope everyone else does as well!

This is a fraudulent company. Please report to authority about this. I have never had any purchase from Seattle Coffee Direct but by some ways, they knew my card # and suddenly, they charged in my bank account $39.76. Please also stay away from the company name Tea Source Express. This is the company that I saw a promotion of $2 for 4 tea bags and I made an order. They did not send me anything but charged me $40. They are all fraud.

I had my dispute with them settled some time ago; I guess I was lucky. It's definitely worth going to the BBB. I had a similar dispute with another outfit selling diet/"nutrition" supplements and got no satisfaction from the BBB (in Arizona where the company is located) so I took it to the Attorney General's office of Arizona and finally got results: they had begun a class action suit. So if one route doesn't work with these shysters, try another and another until you get your money back. I did!

Peel.com is the name of this business. Here is the link for the Better Business Bureau. http://www.bbb.org/

Not surprisingly, on the BBB site, when you type in the address of this company 990 Grove Street, Evanston Illinois 60201, it already comes up - so others have complained.

Here is the link to the Consumer Complaint division at the Illinois Attorney Generals office http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/consumers/

DONT WAIT TO DISPUTE THE CHARGES - THEY WILL KEEP HITTING YOUR ACCOUNT UNDER DIFFERENT NAMES. DO IT NOW. AND YOU CAN GET ONLINE AND FILE COMPLAINTS WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WHICH WILL TAKE THE TIME OF WRITING THIS POST - EASY AND IT WILL PUT THESE THIEVES IN THEIR PLACE. YOU CAN ALSO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE ILLINOIS ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE ONLINE. I RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS BECAUSE THIS COMPANY IS NO GOOD AND HAVE STOLEN $80 FROM ME WITH NO END IN SIGHT.

THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES! I did not order coffee. I dont even drink coffee. I received the first two bags and noticed the 39.70 charge on my account under Euro Cafe Express. I immediately called and was told to return the coffee and that any refund would not be issued for 60 days, even though I never authorized the charge. They said the cancelled the "account".
Then I get two more bags of coffee and once again my account gets hit with 39.70 - this time under Ultimate Bean Cafe. THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES and stealing my money! I tried to call the numbers and it rings and it sound like someone is hanging up on me.

I have notified the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint with them. I am calling the Illinois Atty Generals Office as well, and am looking into criminal charges against these people. This is theft.

I ordered a $15 trial and did not set up for the payments to keep going but before I even got my trial coffee I had 3 $38.95 charges in less than a week . I called and was told they put a stop payment on them and here we are a month and a half later and the charges went through they were not stopped. I called again about my refund and was told it could take 2 months for them to get my money back in my account but it took them less than one week to charge me for all that coffee. I just have to sit and wait now. Don't ever buy from this bull... business!

Dear A Biggs,
I too have been scammed by this company, however I am out $233.70. I keep calling, and they keep giving me the run around. I too ordered the 5 items for $5.00. Once that shipment came, I was getting two shipments of coffee a day at $38.95 a piece. I called to see what was up? They said that I had 4 more shipments sent out. All without my permission. As of todays date, still no refund... I wonder how many other people have been scammed, and what we as consumers can do to stop this?

I ordered a $25.00 gift package and was sent an extra package of Seattle Coffee. When I called Seattle Coffee Direct I was told that I was in a membership for coffee. I said I wasnot aware of that and did not want to be in the membership. I was told that I signed for the packages. I did not sign for them and sent four of them back via UPS. I was given a confirmation number and told that I would receive credit for the four that I returned. I received my credit card bill and the four are still on my bill. I called my credit card and they said they are waiting for Seattle Coffee Direct and that I had to pay for the coffee until Seattle Coffee contacts them. If a period of time elapses my credit card will put in a dispute. I contacted my credit card company on Sept. 2, 2009.

I'm having the same problem as others. I canceled and weeks later had funds removed from my checking account. I called and said I would be getting a refund. Three weeks have passed. No refund and no one answers the phone number. I've called at 3:00 pm central time and got a recording that they are on the East coast and closed at 6:00. However their contact information and mailing address are in Illinois, the same state I'm in. How can we get help for these repeated wrong business practices?

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! This Company is insane! & the guy ( Brian) I talked to this morning told me he is fine with what he is doing because it is a paycheck. Even though people are getting charged $38.95 every 3-4 days! He even said if you are worried about money why are you ordering on the net. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! It is a SCAM! They reel you in with the promo, 2 travel mugs, 2 coffee mugs, and 2 bags of coffee for $25.00 then they start shipping coffee every few days and charge you $38.95 EACH time. No body drinks that much coffee!

Does anybody fin the 5 for $5 promotion entirely misleading? Then the excessive charges begin. Trying to get my money back has not been easy. They say I have to wait 6-8 weeks for my refund because I chose to return my product via USPS. Funny, that's the way they transported it to me. It took less than a week for it to come. But to return it takes two months? I am not buying that.

This company is a total scam! Not only did I not receive my original shipment of 4 bags and 2 mugs (the promi shipment), but I was sent out 2 bags and charged full price instead. Then they started sending 2 bags every 3 days at $39 a shipment. Every 3 days? That's an insane amount of coffee! I was promised a refund, which I never received. I have filed with my credit card company this morning.

As soon as I noticed the first $38.95 fee, I contacted them at [protected]-CAFE. The representative stated that another $38.95 was also charged onto my account and explained that I subscribed to their company. Then she asked why I am cancelling my subscription, from which I answered that I never intended to subscribe and only wanted to trial the $5 promotion for my wife (who is a coffee lover).

The representative was actually pretty nice and helped me cancel my subscription and immediately submitted a request to refund the additional $38.95. Unfortunately, on the first order; I will have to send back the shipment and pay for the fees to do so. As soon as they receive the returned shipment, she promised I would receive my refund.

I will let you know what comes out of this and know to look at the fine print going forward.
