Our current Post person needs to be educated on the use of a doorbell and door knocker as well as the ability to read a simple delivery instruction on our front door.
It is a 100% chance that our Post person from Royal Mail with leave a package on our doorstep but not ring our doorbell let alone wait for an answer. We only know of the delivery being made due to email alert from where you ordered from.
Due to the position of our front door its very close to a footpath which gets a lot of passers by, some who live in a block of flats known to house the type of people who would steal from doorsteps hoping to acquire an expensive product to sell.
That said we have a sign reading "PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE DELIVERIES ON THE DOOR STEP THANK YOU".
This costs the supplier who will then claim on the insurance Royal Mail may have provided.
I was walking home once to see the Post person dump the package on the doorstep and then get back into their van, they didn't ring the doorbell.
I understand operatives are on tighter schedules but this does not excuse these simple and common sense actions which aren't rocket science.
