It is our understanding that according to the Consumer Sales Practices Act (CSPA) and the Home Construction Services Act, they're supposed to protect us consumers from unfair, deceptive, and unconscionable sales practices. Me (***) and my husband (***) are contacting the ComplaintsBoard.com to complain about Roofing for Troops (RFT) located at 19 Water Street Milford, Ohio 45150. They violated these acts and our rights as consumers, so we plan to complain to the Ohio Attorney General if we can't reach a resolution. We tried to address our concerns with Roofing for Troops before involving outside channels, but they ignored us. They didn't respond to our complaints, so we had to file this complaint. We tried to work things out, but Roofing for Troops didn't keep us informed or respond to us. We think they're avoiding us because they know they violated our rights and don't want to fix the issues. In this communication, we'll explain how our rights were violated, how Roofing for Troops violated those rights, the timeline of events, and provide supporting documentation. We hired Roofing for Troops to replace our roof and do other work on our property in Ohio. They didn't start the work on time, caused damage to our property, didn't complete the work or did it poorly, didn't honor our warranty, made us pay extra, didn't get the required permit, didn't provide their certificate of insurance, and disrupted our lives. We told them about the poor quality of their work, but they didn't respond. Our last communication was on November 19, and we haven't heard from them since. We tried again on December 7, but still no response. They approached us for the roof replacement on March 3, and we signed an agreement on March 11. We also talked to the owner, Joe H, about additional work. He lied about being insured and having employees. We found out later that he hired subcontractors. He also lied about his experience and the reviews on his website. We thought Roofing for Troops was a reputable company, but they deceived us. After our insurance approved the roof replacement, they took a long time to start the project. We paid them a large sum of money, but the project still isn't finished after 9 months. They didn't follow the law regarding down payments and didn't provide receipts. Joe promised to be involved in the project, but he wasn't there most of the time. The installation had many problems, and our roof started leaking. We're worried about water damage and foundation problems because they didn't install gutters. Throughout the project, they ignored us, didn't keep us informed, and passed us around to different representatives. We found out they hired subcontractors and some of them threatened us with liens. Other subcontractors and employees have offered to testify against Roofing for Troops. We're not the only victims. Roofing for Troops admitted their inexperience with siding installation and deceived us.

Roofing For Troops has been nothin short of outstandin to work with. Prompt, professional and did a fantastic job puttin a new roof on my house. I highly recommend usin their services.

Roofing for Troops was able to determine that wind damage had compromised the roof and got it fully covered through my home owners insurance. They also got the work completed the same week that the insurance company signed off and put a high quality roof on which the new owners loved! Very professional and super easy to do business with. Our Florida mobile home community was hit hard by Hurricane Ian. Roofing For Troops, led by Joe and Ian, brought a crew from Ohio into our community and put tarps on as many roofs as they had time and manpower to cover. We were one of those lucky homes. Both Joe and Ian communicated with us directly and were kind, caring, friendly, and professional. Thanks to their generosity in putting their regular business on hold and traveling to Florida to provide much-needed help, our home is protected from more damage until we can get a new roof.
