Roaman's - Bait & switch
Ordered 3 items on sale with the promise that the discount would be applied at checkout. When the follow up email was received, no discount applied. I immediately contacted them as was told 1 item was on back order and I could not cancel order. I could make a return for $10.95. I contested through credit card. Paid the sale price, withheld difference. Stay away!

Roamans Refused to Honor Advertised Sale - Poor Customer Service
Roamans is a store that I recently had a bad experience with. They had a sale where you could get three items for only $30. I wasn't really in need of any new clothes, but I couldn't resist such a great deal. So, I went ahead and ordered three items from the sale page. However, when my order arrived, I was shocked to find out that Roamans had only sent me one item and charged me full price for it!
I immediately contacted their customer service to let them know about the mistake. I politely asked them to send me the other two items that I had ordered at the sale price. But, to my disappointment, they refused to do so. All they did was apologize for the problem I encountered. I was extremely upset with their poor customer service and their refusal to honor their advertised sale.
I told them that I was disappointed and that I would be sending the shirt back for a refund as soon as it arrived. I also warned them that I would be telling all of my friends and family about my experience with Roamans. I want to make sure that other customers are aware that they cannot trust Roamans to honor their sale prices. They are scammers and you should beware!
I believe that Roamans needs to improve their customer service and honor their advertised sales. It's not fair to their customers to advertise a sale and then not honor it. I hope that they will take my feedback seriously and make the necessary changes to improve their business. Until then, I will not be shopping at Roamans again.

I ordered garments that were the wrong size. I contacted Roamans customer service and was instructed to put them back in bag with a sheet of paper indicating size needed. I did as instructed and never heard back. I contacted them on 02/09 via email and was told clothing was received on 01/30/22 but they could not do an exchange with PayPal. (Gerardo) (no one notified me) I asked what happened to my money and was told there was a gift card for their site in a lesser amt than i paid. When i inquired about the lesser amount, i was told they deducted for shipping and taxes. So, they took my money, kept the clothing and issued a gift card on their site without my knowledge? The customer service rep (KATE) offered little explanation even whilst she allegedly was looking up information. I requested a refund to the paypal account. We'll see if it shows up in 3-5 days. I will NEVER EVER shop here again! I am thankful i didn't spend too much money with this store! AVOID SHOPPING AT ROAMANS!
False Advertising: Roman's Catalog Promised Free Gift with Purchase, But Didn't Deliver
I ain't never gonna shop at Roman's no more! I saw an ad in the catalog that said if I spent $25, I'd get a roller-bag for free. So, I ordered a loungewear set that was on sale for $19.99 and a pair of slippers that were on sale for $9.99. My order was over $25, so I put in the promo code for the roller-bag and it went through on the online order form. But when I got my order today, there was no roller-bag! I called Roman's to ask about it and the customer service lady told me that loungewear and sale items weren't eligible for the roller-bag. I didn't see anything about that in the catalog or on the website, so I asked if there was anything she could do. She talked to her boss twice, but the boss said no. I only ordered from Roman's because of the free roller-bag, and if I knew I couldn't get it with the stuff I ordered, I wouldn't have ordered it at all. I'm never shopping at Roman's again!
Roaman's Review: Great Selection, But Quality is Hit or Miss
I ain't no plus size gal, but I do like my tops to be on the larger side. That's why I was stoked to find Roaman's. They got a ton of tunics and tops that fit my style. I got put on their mailing list and started getting catalogs in the mail. Then I found out they got a website too, so I started ordering from there.
I gotta say, I'm glad I didn't pay full price for the stuff I got. I snagged some sweet deals on sale items. The clothes I got were okay, but they weren't exactly what I'd call high quality. One top was made pretty well and has held up after a bunch of washes. But the rest of the stuff was kinda cheap. The seams were crooked, the material was thin, and some of the tops got all stretched out after I washed them like the site said to.
I didn't bother with returning anything because it seemed like too much of a hassle. I just wear the stuff around the house now. If you're gonna buy from Roaman's, I suggest you stick to the sale items and don't pay full price. The quality ain't all that great, despite what they might want you to think.
On the plus side, their customer service is pretty good. I've talked to 'em on the phone and on the site, and they've always been helpful. Plus, you can get Roaman's stuff, Women Within stuff, and Jessica London stuff all on sale for way cheaper than you would on each site separately. Just be careful and don't expect too much from the quality.
Disappointing Quality and Poor Customer Service: My Experience with Roamans
I am extremely disappointed with my recent purchase from Roamans and I will never order from them again. I have been a loyal customer for a long time, but this experience has left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. The elastic in the legs unraveled, the fabric tore holes in it, and even the waistband elastic came loose. I called Roamans to complain about the poor quality of their product and to request a return label. Unfortunately, the first customer service representative I spoke to, James, was not able to understand or speak English very well. I asked to speak to a supervisor multiple times, but he kept over-talking me and not listening to my concerns. I ended up yelling at him, which is not something I normally do. Finally, he transferred me to another agent who was able to transfer me to a supervisor.
The supervisor I spoke to was more interested in company policy than in addressing my complaint about the quality of the product. She did not seem to care that I had spent $5.00 per pair of underwear that fell apart after only one wear. It was frustrating to feel like my concerns were not being taken seriously.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Roamans. I will not be ordering from them again and I would not recommend them to anyone. It is a shame to spend money on a product that falls apart after only one wear. I hope that Roamans takes customer complaints seriously and works to improve the quality of their products in the future.
Frustrating Experience with Roaman's: Order Delayed without Notification
I gotta say, I had a pretty frustrating experience with Roaman's. I put in an order on November 30th and got an email with my order number. The email had a link to check on the status of my order, which I clicked on a bunch of times. The last time I checked, it said my order was all set to ship on December 14th. But when I clicked on the link on December 14th, it said my order couldn't be found. I sent an email to customer service, but didn't hear back. The next day, I called and had to talk to a dang computer before I could finally get through to a person named Freddy. Freddy told me my order was on backorder and wouldn't ship until January 17th. I asked him why I wasn't told about this change, and he said it was because they didn't have my email address on file. But if that's the case, how did I get the confirmation email with the link to check my order status in the first place? I told him to cancel my order and that I'm never buying from Roaman's again. It's just not worth the hassle.
Roaman's Payment Options: Beware of Fees and Restrictions
I was thinking about opening an account with Roaman's, but I decided to do some research first. I'm glad I did because I found out that they make it really difficult to make payments on your account. If you're ever late on a payment, they charge a whopping $41 fee! On top of that, they charge a high interest rate of 26.5%. The only way to make payments is through credit cards or bank accounts. However, you can't use your debit card to make payments. You have to give them all your banking information, including your routing number, so they can automatically withdraw from your account each month.
I learned my lesson a long time ago about automatic withdrawals from my bank account. You risk them taking out payments early or even double charging you. Some banks also charge a fee for using this service. If you want to use a credit card to make a payment, you'll be charged a $15 convenience fee for paying over the phone.
I'm really glad I took the time to read about the payment options before opening an account. I don't think I'll be using Roaman's anytime soon. It's important to always be aware of what you're getting into with these companies.
Roaman's Misled Me: Happy Returns Not Fully Functional
I recently made a purchase on Roaman's website, spending a total of $140 on various items. Unfortunately, when the merchandise arrived, nothing fit me properly. I decided to return the items and went online to generate a return. Roaman's issued a QR code for me to bring to a "Happy Returns" location, which I have used before with other companies like Amazon.
However, when I brought the items to the Happy Returns location and they scanned them in, I did not receive the usual text message from Roaman's confirming that the items were being sent back. I thought maybe the system was slow, but it has now been two weeks and I have not received my credit. When I called Roaman's to inquire about the delay, I spoke to three different people who all confirmed that Happy Returns was not fully functional for them until last week.
I was shocked to hear this, as Roaman's had pushed me to return the merchandise through an avenue that they weren't fully up and running with. Now they are telling me that there is nothing they can do about it, and that they have 60 days to process a return once the merchandise is returned. However, they have no record that I sent back the merchandise, so chances are there will be no record when the items come back.
I am extremely frustrated and angry that Roaman's is telling me that I am out $120 and that it is not their fault that I went to Happy Returns. I feel like I have been misled and that Roaman's should take responsibility for their mistake. I hope that they can resolve this issue and provide me with the credit that I am owed.
unethical conduct by company
My elderly mother ordered clothing which was supposed to come with free shipping. The clothing did not fit her, so she asked to return it. They told her to send it back, and they would send her another piece, which may fit her better. She did not want to, but the phone sales lady convinced her. The item arrived and it did not fit her, so she again returned the items. She then recieved a bill for $7.50 for "UPS return." This bill arrived when she was spending a month visiting family out of town. By the time she returned home, there was a second bill for $27.50, for "late fees." My mother does not have a lot of money, being on a fixed income. She did not know what to do. Sure enough, they kept increasing the amounts, and now has received a bill for $87.94, with threats to ruin her credit. She finally told me about it, and I am seeking to have the company investigated for scamming and scaring elders. They are still harassing her and increasing the amounts. Again, she has not items from the company. She returned everything! What immoral behavior by a company.
I ordered a jacket from Roaman's that was to large so I sent it back for an exchange. Instead of being sent an exchange they rebated me the purchase price, but not the shipping cost. They say on their site FREE SHIPPING on exchanges but they decided or were unable to exchange so now I have no jacket but am out of pocket $12.99 for the initial shipping charge.
This is the second time Roaman's has cost me money for something I did not get. NEVER AGAIN! I will never do business with this outfit.

I am extremely disappointed in your system for back ordered items. Over the past year I believe every purchase I have made or tried to make with you resulted in a back ordered item. Why are the items you sell not in stock? It's almost as if you put stuff online and in your catalog before you even have any of it in stock to "test" it out to see if it will sale. Then when it starts selling like hotcakes, you back order everything. This would only work for the customer if they were trying to order winter clothing in May. One of the items I looked at tonight is back ordered until August! It's a summer dress?! The absolute worst part is that half of my back orders resulted in CANCELED orders! So I am excited and awaiting my great purchase only to have it canceled on me after having it rescheduled 2-3 times already. It's a shame and a total disappointment. You've got to do better than this before this type of negative feedback becomes what you are associated with.

Ive shopped Roamans online for a long time and never had any trouble with anything. They have it stated if they cannot fill your order and it is back ordered...they will only back order it 3 times and then they cancel the order. This is actually for your benefit so as to keep you from waiting an unreasonable amount of time.

This company does FALSE ADVERTISING!
I received a sale catalog, hopped right online and placed my order on 9/30/2008.
Then when 2 1/2 weeks went by without receiving the package, I followed up with them and was told the item was on "back order" and in the "Date Expected" section were three question marks ? ? ?
So I emailed them and asked them what ? ? ? meant in terms of a backorder timeline. I was then told that the item would be shipped out on 11/27/2008. So I contacted them again and said that this was a long while, but at least I'd have my shoes in time for the Holidays.
Well, I received one email day before yesterday on 11/3/2008 that stated that my item would be shipping out "any day now" and then just now another lovely Roaman's email popped into my inbox and stated that my order has been cancelled.
So ... all of the previous emails were to keep me browsing and buying.
Believe ME ... I will not purchase from Roamans ever again.
We are savvy shoppers and will not be treated unfairly by a company that clearly does not care one bit about customer service.
Prior to this fiasco, I ordered three separate pants suits. All three packages I received contained THE WRONG ITEMS. Wrong color, wrong style and wrong size! When I called Customer Service, they were quite nonchalant about it ... because it happens ALL THE TIME.
Anyway, I wrote this so that I may save some of you some time and many hassles. BEWARE OF ROAMANS CATALOG ... THEY ARE THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.

Charging for incomplete outfit & S/H on unwearable pants

I ordered from Roaman's catalog a three piece outfit, all sold separately. I received the jacket and pants and not the tank. The jacket requires something underneath. Later the tank was on back order, then it was "unobtainable". They insisted on me either paying for the rest of the outfit or paying S/H to return it. I requested free S/H, Roaman's Customer Services refused.
Also, I ordered a pair of pants. I tried to put them on and found the leg was sewn closed mid-thigh. I sent them back with my complaint . They are charging me for the S/H. They will not respond to this complaint.
I have not payed the balance on the bill, which involves these items. I've e-mailed my complaint three times with specifics on the items and my requests to no avail. The final email I stated I was taking this matter further. I had been doing business with this company and its affiliates for many years. I have never complained before, but yet they don't seem interested in keeping their customers happy.
Last week I placed an order with Roaman's for five items. The website had a lot of problems, finally worked -- and registered, on my confirmation page, that a 50% off coupon code for the highest-priced item had been accepted. i received a confirmation email for the order -- no coupon code applied at all. I telephoned customer service the following morning -- btw, they have LOUSY customer service hours. I was told that no, the coupon had not even been entered -- I assured the woman I spoke it had indeed been entered. She promised me she would take care of it when the items came from the warehouse; I told her if she did not do this and the merchandise was sent anyway, I would return it unopened. Big surprise! When I got the shipping confirmation, still no coupon applied. Today I had an email from someone in Customer Service in response to a Bizrate survey I filled out about Roaman's in which I gave them the worst rating possible. Oh, wow...they were SO SURPRISED I'd had a bad experience...this almost never happened, blah blah blah. I wrote back to tell her I don't believe her...I'm pretty sure they are so lame it happens all the time.
This is an addendum to my original complaint. When the merchandise arrived, only the 'shrug' part of a two-piece set was there; the other piece was back ordered until July 17th. The shrug was the piece that should have been 50% off with the coupon code. I returned it, and after almost two weeks have never even had an acknowledgement that it was received. I don't ever expect to get credit for it. Also, I received an email reporting that the other piece had been back ordered, and when I wrote to cancel that piece, I never had an acknowledgement for that, either.
Wow, these people give crooks a bad name.
