Road America Motor Club reviews and complaints
Refuse service
3/27/20 Refused service, despite my having paid for coverage through Car insurance. This is step 1 of the complaints filed for refusing service.
3/14/2020 @ 8 pm - Vehicle stalled on Freeway. Contacted Insurance, paid Road America Motor Club to have vehicle towed to my home.
Contacted 3/15/2020, Road America Motor Club refused to take vehicle to mechanic. Notified 7 days cycle before I am allowed another tow. I paid out of pocket to have vehicle towed to Mechanic.
National Crisis occurs, everyone in California is Shelter in place. I contacted Road America Motor Club on 3/27/2020 to tow vehicle to my home, and Road America Motor Club refused service. I spoke with Manager Mark, Ext 1314. He spoke with his supervisor, who says "This is not a national crisis, and they will not tow vehicle." I am told "You need to deal with the problem on your own..." I explain the situation we are facing in California, Shelter in place is in effect, I need help. Please on a human level I am requesting assistance; again I am told this assistance is denied. Disappointed and left with no recourse, I am writing to the following agencies. 1. Insurance company, 2. State insurance board. 3 Federal consumer affairs, and 4. to Miami license board. Since practice of Road America Motor Club is to refuse service then they should not be in service of consumers. Reading other reviews makes me understand that consumers complaints are falling on deaf ears, and more noise through media channels is necessary to change the terrible service being served by Road America Motor Club. Especially during a national crisis, which the organization believes is not so. This is simply embarrassing, as I do not believe in writing bad reviews, I believe in working things through, and this lack of respect, service, is bad for both Road America Motor Club and I, as now this will continue to escalate until resolved.
Poor sevice-failure to pay claim
Road America refused to pay for a new wheel that was supposedly covered under a wheel insurance policy. They would only pay $50 toward repair of the wheel. The wheel was bent and I was advised that the wheel was unrepairable by 2 highly rated shops. Road America would have required me to ship the wheel to the nearest repair facility (several hundred mile...
