Iron Mountain Ridiculous Fees

We have had files at this company for over 20 years. They have made all the money concerning regular storage. Now, that we want Permanent removal, they want to charge us an abhorrent fee. In total, they are demanding over $300,000 to close the account. Our warehouse is located right across a parking lot from their storage, and we have our own trucks, yet they still want to charge us delivery fees.

No one here currently working signed the contract. It was signed many years ago and has self-renewed. Now, as we are looking at all charges, they are gouging us because we want to discontinue business. We can no longer afford these ridiculous charges. It is actually less expensive to keep them there, and that is their scheme.

Their customer service is in India. Trying to get an English speaking person on the telephone is like asking for a private meeting with the President.

Does anyone have any suggestions to mitigate these charges?

Claimed loss: $200,000

Desired outcome: Total of complete withdrawal would be acceptable at $100,000

I requested a list of our archived files from Iron Mountain South Africa a few weeks ago. Despite collecting and charging me for archiving and storage, they had not sent me an updated list for over 4 months. What followed is a travesty: 1) It took over a week to get a response to my request. This is for a listing that should be easily available to download...

Iron Mountain Employment opportunities

This company contacted me months ago claiming to have a position open for me and in compliance with meeting my disability standards in order to work. They made me fill out a bunch of paperwork and had me hunt for anyone who would complete a tax form and sign as witness, which I end up doing with a Notary Public while paying out of my own pocket. However they would also want me to get more people to sign in places where clearly their own would sign themselves instead. Later on they would state the position I was applying for was "filled up" even though I already provided personal and banking info to start working. Weeks later they claimed to have another opening in Dallas and that I would start working on an upcoming date. I arrived at said location but there was not a single building with the address provided and not even google maps would pinpoint it. I began to suspect this company of being fraudulent and creating scams thereof.

I also researched their company online and found out they create several problems with customer care such as losing documents with private info and being unfair to employees. I can state that these red flags would had benefit me a lot more before I kept with the hiring process, all because I am desperate to find work during this pandemic. Do not trust this company with your info.

I have been a customer of Iron Mountain for some time. I've used their Connected data protection service to do backups of my critical data. 1. Three days ago, I lost my main data drive – total failure, all data lost. I replaced it with an external drive and tried to use Connected to restore some of the settings and date. Connected kept crashing – probably...

Beware the exhorbitant fees charged for retrieval, permanent withdrawal, etc. when you want to terminate your contract with them. Also, if you miss the limited window of opportunity, your contract will be automatically extended. Not worth the hassle. Store your files locally.

Iron Mountain is now charging all customers an administrative fee of $25.12 per month for "maintenance and administrative" services. Why? What additional services are you giving to the customer that warrants this additional monthly charge. The system is entirely computerized and has been for the year and 1/2 that I have been using them. Since the customer...
