Essential Med bad service

On the 15th of November (Sunday), I had severe abdominal pain, we tried to go to our network doctor, but they just closed, went home thinking maby its just a wind so I took some anti-acid. The pain eventually got so bad that it spread to my back, so my mother gave me the funds to go to a out of network doctor, which I was allowed to do and then claim it back.

so I went paid and got a cash receipt, asked essential med for a reimbursement form and submit that, and that was a problem as they said they require a statement from the doctors office and not just a cash slip, so I did that and resent everything again. On the 24th we received a slip via email with an amount of R 294 and ive paid the doctor R 450, and again I asked then why only that amount when I have paid R 450 so they told me thats all they pay out for doctor visits. then last week I still havent received payment so I contacted them again and the lady couldnt tell me why, 2 days later she responded with an attachment from how many years ago she just attached my bank details, after I submit the new banking details on the 15th, according to her that is the details they have and the money was paid into that account, my husband is the main member and so the money needed to be transferred to him as per my reimbursement form filled out on the 15th. she still have not gotten back to me

Essential Med Non payment

Essential med will not pay my claim as they are adamant that the claim is for something completely different to the actual medial reason submitted which includes the doctors letter. I have asked them to read all the documentation and then confirm when the claim will be paid but they will not.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. They will not even follow up on communication sent and questions asked. I was told my claim has been sent for processing and 2 months later I am told the claim could not be sent for processing as they don’t have a doctors letter which I personally supplied 3 days after admission.

Essential Med Membership Termination

After receiving the most shocking service (bad attitude, empty promises, vague or no feedback at all) from Essential Med I receive a letter (sent via email) in which they state that they are ending our membership (myself, my husband and our toddler daughter). As shocking as this may be, I am not even the primary beneficiary and I do not have a contractual agreement with Essential Med, my husband has a contract with Essential Med. I had no choice but to contact the compliance officer which then was in contact with Essential Med informing them that this is obviously not the correct procedure to follow. Later "by pure luck" we received another letter (sent via email to the incorrect email address as Nicolene Williams had updated our email contact details on the Essential Med system on our request just a few weeks prior) stating that they are ending our membership and that the reason for membership termination was stated in the previous letter. I really can't believe the manner in which business is conducted at this company. I am still totally shocked and appalled.

Essential Med Bad service

I joined Essential Med 2 months ago and since I joined there service was the worst i ever experience. From the beginning till now I there was promises made, needles to say that nothing came out of the promises. First the so called consultants never told me everything I must know, after I joined and received my welcome back I realized there is a waiting period for some services.after my joining date i was supposed to wait a week for my welcome pack, only after 2 weeks one of the "so-called" managers deliver the packaged in person by me, another week later the packaged was delivered by mail. when I saw the waiting periods on my contract for the Optometrist. contact Nicolene and I point it out to her that i was never informed of any waiting periods, where she told me that i must go to spec savers and that she will see that i will go through or that they must sent the account directly to her and she will sort it out.The next thing is, I went to the a doctor and he subscribed me some medicine, when I want to collect it from clicks, clicks could not trace my policy no. essential med then paid R300.00 into my account to pay for it,

We have been in essential med for a year now. I wanted to use them to go see a network doctor, only to find out when I arrived at the doctors offices to find out they have cancelled theyre contract with essential med a few days before we have joined essential group a year ago in april, So firstly they have kept us in the dark by sending us the wrong lists off doctors etc ...after they should have known to make changes before sending out list to new clients so I had to pay cash for the doctors appointment and medicine but every month they get theyre money on time but they cant do a proper job of informing clients of very important things, Im so dissapointed in essential med, I phoned them more than a week ago and still waiting for a claim form and a new list of network doctors etc...they can take our money and all we get in return is empty promises and a ### service .I would advice people to rather first thing make sure of things before you join a useless and dissapointing medical sceme like essential med.
