Cpa reviews and complaints
scam
I received this deceiving letter from Credit Protection Association L.P. It states I owe or have an outstanding balance of $59.86. The company listed as the original creditor is TDS Telecom. I have lived at my residence for the past 12 years and have never had an agreement or contract with TDS Telecom.
This is a scam. I tried to call [protected] two times only able to work through an auto menu that gets me no where. Only options are to pay or set up payments.
being harassed
i received a collection notice from CPA in reference to an account that is not mine-this is how well they research-I was able to access an account that belongs to someone else off information sent by mail from this company and credit reporting agencies that have my personal info and someone else's combined-I have all of this other phyllis' info-only problem is she and all of her creditiors she refuses to pay have mine-why couldn't my name be Bill Gates? Wish that Phyllis Lorraine Fletcher from Thomaston, GA would straighten her act up and pay her bills or at least take responsibility for her indebtedness.
I have been trying to get a hold of CPA for a week with no luck. I have tried both toll free number and the 972 number. I also tired to log on to their website, but they say I have an invalid reference number.
Send them a validation letter stating that this alleged 'debt' isn't yours and you demand that they either send proof to the contrary or bug off! It is THEIR responsibility to proof that they have the right person. It is NOT your responsibility to prove ANYTHING to them! Since is sounds like your credit bureau information is screwed up, I'd find a NACA attorney in your area to deal with it. Go to www.naca.net to find an attorney that specialize in dealing with ### debt collectors.
