Company is a fraud. I was contacted by phone by Ms. Marie Thomas at [protected] Ext. 543, who claimed he was with Regency Capital and I was approved for a $7500 secure loan. I just needed to email or fax two pieces of ID, a voided check (of where the funds were to be deposited), proof of income and a signed contract. After I was approved I would need to wire $720.00 (to cover the first three months payments and as a security deposit for my loan in case I defaulted). Okay, this sounded pretty legit so far. I have not heard from Ms. Thomas after sending the money. I have left 20-30 messages and still nothing. I looked up the company online and it seemed to be a legitimate company on the surface. When I did some digging I found that the New York, NY address on the stationary (130 7th Ave New York, NY - 10011) was a UPS store and did not match the address where my payment was to be mailed to which was 708 Third Avenue, Suite 600. (red flag) This address is actually a Virtual Office where people my rent a conference room and have their mail delivered. Maybe the company just wanted a New York address to look more posh than having just a Florida office. However the Florida address is also a dead end. 4400 Biscayne Blvd Miami, FL - 33137 is an office building but Regency Capital is not on the directory. Then there is a matter of their phone/fax numbers. The number that I was to reach Ms. Thomas at is [protected] Ext. 541, however the number that showed up on the caller ID is [protected]. The fax number [protected] is most recently traced back to a phone number in the UK.
