I used the Online Illinois Divorce Assistance Service on June 4. They charged me $129.00 for the standard service and an additional $299.00 for the premium package, which claimed I wouldn't have to go to court. However, I haven't received any of the paperwork they promised. I've asked for a refund multiple times, but they keep saying they'll upgrade me to the highest level. I just want a refund for the services they didn't provide.

This company offers an online service for filing divorces, and they claim to have a money-back guarantee within 30 days. I paid $139 and completed the online documents, but I didn't submit them. After a week, I decided not to proceed with the divorce and called to cancel. However, they refused to refund my money, stating that because I had filled out the paperwork, they could only hold it for free for a year. To my surprise, the following month, I was charged an additional $34.99 without my permission, and they informed me that they would continue to charge me monthly, despite their previous assurance of holding it for free for a year since I wanted to cancel. Frustrated, I went online and canceled the subscription (which I never signed up for), but even after canceling, they informed me that they would still charge me $9.99 annually to keep my records, with no option to opt out. It's clear to me that they are running a scam.

On 10/17, I signed up for the online divorce package. On 10/31, the divorce forms were ready. On 11/16, I confirmed that I wanted the platinum Maryland service. It was 1/27 when my paperwork was ready. On 2/10, I confirmed my forms. On 3/31, I received notice that the forms had been sent to my spouse. On 5/8, the packet was submitted to the court. This is the last important update I received from the business. On 5/14, the Charles County courthouse shows the divorce case as opened and the service issued. No updates have been made since. My ex, Aimee ***, noted when she was served that the divorce was listed as contested, even though both parties had agreed to the divorce and she had even signed the initial paperwork. In the months of June and July , I have tried multiple times to resolve the issue or move it forward. I am requesting a refund of $284, which is the price of the platinum service.

All they do is bombard you with a gazillion questions in a survey or step 1 of their process. Based on your answers and your spouse's answers, they hook you up with the right services. But here's the kicker: I can't provide her answers 'cause I don't even know her phone number or her social security number. Plus, the survey is like 10 pages long for each of us! So, that's it. I can't move forward with my divorce until she completes her part. Naturally, I asked for a refund. Their response? They'll give me back 50% 'cause of some office and clerical fees or whatever. Seriously? What kind of fees are they talking about? It probably costs them like 50 cents to process my payment with a credit card.
