We purchased our property in 2014 and have been dealing with the “vegetation management” department ever since we built a house. We worked very hard for our property and on our property to make it safe, private, more quiet, and aesthetically pleasing to us and our community. We have been told multiple different stories about what has to be cut. Our 1st dealing with “vegetation management” was when they poisoned several trees without notifying us. They have reached out the last 3-4 years wanting to trim and/or cut more trees down each year under different parameters/circumstances. On Monday 4/21/25 a “vegetation management” supervisor became angry and agitated that my wife was telling him not to cut the trees down on our property. He became angry and stated “now I’m gonna cut all your dam trees down”. While not a professional way to speak to a lady/customer, he had no regard for our property or the environment. There are multiple properties with trimmed trees like we used to have. Oncor has killed 64 trees on my property in the last 3-4 years (49 0n 4/21) after severely trimming them to well over 10’ from any power line.
Claimed loss: Per multiple websites, trees add anywhere from 3-20% value to property. In the same token, removing trees can devalue property 3-20%. Per the new tax roll for our property that’s anywhere from $27,330 to $182,200 devaluation.
Desired outcome: We want Oncor to buy mature trees to replace some of the 64 trees killed by Oncor. The average diameter was 9.5”. If not, compensation to buy trees to bring back value lost due to Oncor’s disregard for its customer or the environment
