Ohio Unemployment I am eligible for unemployment payments but Ohio unemployment hasn’t yet processed my claim after 9 weeks

My name is Karen Armstrong date of birth November 4, 1963. I became unemployed on July 6, 2021. I applied for Ohio unemployment benefits at that time. It has now been nine weeks since I applied. I have not received a single check to date. I have contacted the office of Ohio unemployment not less than 12 times. I have been told that they have all of the information however my claim is still being processed. How is it possible that the department of Ohio unemployment cannot process a claim in nine weeks. I have escalated the issue numerous times, I've requested for supervisors to call me numerous times and of course that never occurs. This is completely unacceptable I have not ever filed for unemployment after 30 years of working. I need someone to immediately investigate this and please figure out how to solve this issue so that I can get the unemployment insurance that I have paid for throughout my career paid to me. Nine weeks is an unacceptable time to wait for any information regarding why my claim is not being processed. Please provide the name and phone number for someone that I can immediately call so that I can explain the situation in further detail. I continue to get ineffective lipservice responses from the office of unemployment and never at actually get to anyone who can make an actual decision. Again this is completely unacceptable. My next call is going to be to the local news stations in the greater Cincinnati area to make a public complaint against the Ohio department of unemployment. Please call me at [protected]. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Desired outcome: Please process the unemployment documents and pay my unemployment that is due to me

Ohio Unemployment resolving appeals and getting payment

I have put every paper asked for in some several different times. I showed employment I sent tax returns and everything. I got locked out for 2 weeks and a lady took my 2 weekly claims and set it to I could get on. I have since then filed appeals and sent every paper and more to verify identity which i have done twice. I filled out the over payment and filed appeal. I did not receive over payment. It has been over 10 weeks and nothing. I call every day I get same ole They are working on it. You will know something in a couple days. I got a redetermination of benefits a week ago this is my 2nd one of those but still not been paid. They sent out you had to do a verify identity on a smart phone. I don't have a smart phone. They wanted front, back and a selfie with ID. I had already sent that in weeks prior. My cell is turned off because I can't afford to pay for it and it is a flip phone not smart phone. I used some ones smart phone and took 70 pictures and it said not good enough. I called in and they said they were having technical difficulties with the program. I tried 3 days later still having difficulties. Now I got a certain amount of time to send what they want but they can take their time issuing a payment. My issues still are not resolved. I only have a High School Diploma but I know that if a person is eligible for PUA according to 2019 taxes and the paper of redetermintion, there has been no over payment, and that person needs to be paid.

Desired outcome: Get Paid

Ohio Unemployment Unemployment PUA Ohio

Forgive me for providing personal information but it is necessary to explain my complaint. I left an abusive marriage after 17 years two weeks before the pandemic hit. I was working for Lyft as a driver at the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 sparsely only because I was hiding it from my husband so that I can save money to move out. I filed for unemployment in June for PUA and was approved with supporting documents from Lyft although I was working very few hours there was a reason. PUA is set up for people in this exact situation I needed to provide for my daughter and myself and could not know the pandemic was going to start when it did. Bottom line I was approved and I was receiving unemployment at 189 a week until recently I was told I was ineligible. I have stage two hypertension and asthma cannot drive with a mask on & due to Covid have suffered immensely and have struggled to barely survive this entire time. My rental I am in has been sold to someone who is turning it into a parking lot for their restaurant and my unemployment cut me off my daughter and I are two weeks from being homeless. we are in a desperate situation I call the unemployment PUA helpline to find out why after my documents were downloaded there still is no resolution to my unemployment being bluntly cut off. I spoke with Cassandra she would not give me any other identifying employee ID or information. She could care less and was very rude and short with me after waiting on hold for an hour. We will lose everything and be homeless and have no other family to stay with because of this I can't even find another place much less try to get back to life in a normal sense Because I was abruptly cut off of unemployment and I file appeals and definitely download documents correctly. This person Cassandra told me she could connect me with no manager or give me to nobody else to help figure out or find out what is going on why this is taking so long. We are desperate for a soloution, we need to be out of this house second week of September- no extensions my utilities are days from being disconnected. I've had pleasant people take my calls anytime I've called for unemployment issues this person Cassandra that I spoke to today was out right awful callous and could care less about my call. She should not be working with people on any level.

Ohio Unemployment odjfs

2 months ago I was supposed to have an appeal hearing. No call no correspondence nothing. I've watched multiple family members around me pass away. I've worked the front lines without any compensation. I was denied my rights to pursue FMLA. Then I'm fired. 6 months later I'm waiting on an appeal hearing. I'm denied all unemployment benefits due to employer accusation of "misconduct" I get it. If you want a full staff and unemployment rates to decrease how about speak up to our employers and stop letting them fire employees during a time like this. Stop letting them cheat us workers. Place restrictions on them like the ones we are all currently facing trying to get unemployment at this time. You can be more favorable toward employers. Be fair and just with us employees give us an appeal hearing at the least. We all have a right to peruse unemployment as we do a fair hearing. Lastly, this is a crucial time for almost everyone. Money is a tool we all need to survive. Don't oppress and withhold things needed for survival just to get people to work at a restaurant for $2 an hour plus tips. It takes more than that to make it in this world, it's a costly world.

Desired outcome: unemployment/hearing

My PAU unemployment was taken away on June 22, 2021. The reason for it was they said they never received proof of my employment with Uber. I sent them my employment proof and income in 2019 when I filed. In 2021 they were asking me for the same documentation that I originally sent and was approved for. After receiving the request I sent them 2020 proof of employment and income. I never received no communications with them letting me know it was the wrong documentation. Well the 90 days was up June 22, 2021 payment was denied for my unemployment for not receiving proof of employment and income for 2019. Now they say I owe them for all the payments I sent. I filed a appeal on June22, 2021 way before the 21 days. I sent them my 2019 proof of employment and income also my 2019 taxes. Still today I have never received any information about my appeal I was researching how long does it take and I found that they have 2 Weeks after my appeal to update me on appeal. I have heard nothing still today. It’s absolutely ridiculous why they took it from me they already had that documentation. What can I do? I am an disabled veteran I only Did Uber part time but it still was helping me and my family. I worked when the pandemic first started but later stopped when I had symptoms of COVID. In the mean time I was diagnosed with colon cancer and now live with an colostomy bag I have had major complications and still on going today. Why am I being treated like this. I feel discriminated and not treated fairly all they had to do was send me a document or email letting me know the wrong document was sent. Now it’s been over two months no unemployment. Someone please help. When I call unemployment they are telling me it takes 60 days. I have emailed the appeals center nothing back. This is not right they are treating me this way. Let me know where I am wrong I am confused.

my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. It’s easier said then done, hang tight. Have faith and pray. They know during this time people is facing many hardships. It’s the little man at the bottom that everything is effecting, I don’t know about you but I haven’t heard of not one Ceo of any company loosing his house? Or job? Government is not our solution.

Ohio Unemployment Ohio unemployment and benefit payment control

Matthew Neiswonger
Claimant ID = [protected]
Last 4 of Social = 6859
I've been having a lot of issues with unemployment and payment control for the last few months and I can't take it anymore. Am on my 3rd or 4th social security verification now. The first time I waited 8 weeks to have them take paid held off my account which I was laid to constantly. Ex what email address to send my info to. One week a guy told me that money will be in my account next week which it wasn't. Then the lady told me the same thing and it never was. Also, someone hung up on me properly a dozen times. On hold for almost 2 hours just to get hung up on and I took screenshots if u would like to see them. I lost my place and had to move to my parent's house. I had to sell all my furniture cause my parents had no room for it and couldn't get a storage place cause I had no money. Fell behind my bills. I could of had a couple of good jobs but didn't want to hire me cause my car was broke down and I was counting on unemployment money so that I can fix it. So 8 weeks went by and when the money did come the company already hired someone else. Oh and someone from unemployment change my banking information and I found out that there not allow to do that. Someone tried to hack into my account so when I called unemployment to ask for information about the account where my money was being sent, the guy from unemployment said no can do cause I switch ur banking information back to relacard. I can go on and on about unemployment and payment control. So now it's been 2 weeks already that my pay is being held again and I can't get threw to payment control cause unemployment won't transfer me and it's always busy if I call payment control directly. Is there anything u guys can do? I live at my parent's house. My licenses are about to be suspended cause I can't make payment and child support is falling behind.
I've lost everything and now I have nothing and don't know what to do. Anything u guys can do would be a big help. Thanks for ur time.

Desired outcome: Take paid held off my account

Ohio Unemployment Fraud/filing for benefits

I have been trying to file since early April. There was fraud in my name so I couldn't file until that was cleared. I was told that I would be notified when the fraud was cleared. I never heard anything.

I've called numerous times and was transferred back and forth between departments and usually ended up with dead air when a transfer didn't go through or someone hung up.

I had a long scheduled phone appointment yesterday morning. The person I talked to was very nice but had to keep putting me on hold to find out information. He finally told me I had to talk to another department and that department had a line opened and he'd transfer me. Not exactly, the auto attendant just scheduled another meeting!

This has been going on since APRIL!

Desired outcome: Get filed, approved and get benefits.

Ohio Unemployment No Payment of unemployment. No Status Updates.

I have been out of work since April 30/21. I filed for unemployment compensation. Unemployment has not paid me any benefits. Unemployment does not answer my questions: Do they need more information?; When will I be paid? How much will I receive? The on-line chat typically has 25 in line and consumes an hour to make an inquiry. Sometimes I can get through by calling [protected]. [protected] typically tells me to call Benefit Payment Control at [protected]. Benefit Payment Control automatically forwards the call back to [protected].

Desired outcome: Pay my unemployment claim.

Ohio Unemployment Not receiving unemployment check

Below is the complaint I sent to ODJFS on 12 July 2021 asking for answers.
I received an auto reply to wait 10 days for a reply. I have not receive a reply. Can you help?

Thank you for your submission. For your reference, your ticket number is
UIF-[protected].
Please allow us 10 days to review your submission before entering an additional suggestion. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please check back on the website to see any initiatives created related to suggestions or complaints received.

First thing I will say is that everyone has been very polite and helpful, however I have not yet received an unemployment payment after 9 weeks submitted.
I have contacted the Ohio unemployment office by phone several times. First because my link to process week 3 was not available. He said I had a break in service. I have not had a break in service. He entered my information for week 3.
After week 5, I called again. I was told again I had a break in service. They ask if I submitted all my paperwork. Then it was mentioned that my claim was hung up with verifying my ssn/identy. They fixed whatever glitches that were found.
Week 7, (on Tuesday) I called and was told I had a break in service and they would fix it. She then said she would send a expedite notice for me. And hopefully it would be taken care of by Friday or maybe Monday at the latest. They fixed whatever glitches that were found.
Week 8 (on Wednesday) I called again. The same questions and processes. They fixed whatever glitches that were found.
What can I do to get my unemployment?

Thank you for your time!

44% was denied unemployment in 2020. Most people don’t have the time required to wait and hold out. Exactly the way the government is doing right now and the same as last year. Hang tight, just know god is the ultimate provider, us people pay so much into taxes each year. We work hard! The government is for themselves. Bottom line. They don’t want to pay it.

Ohio Unemployment Appeal Hearing

I appeal my benefit denial due to the fact my information that was requested is already on file. I was still denied benefits for not providing documents. When I valled in, they said documents were on file and that they did not know why I was still denied. I would have to appeal. I appealed on 6/18/21. It is 7/31/21, I have not received my hearing date. States county has 21 days to address my appeal. I am still waiting, and my weeks are still being denied. I spoke with an adjudicator weeks prior to my denial. She uploaded and told me there is nothing else the agency would need. 3 weeks later I was denied again. No response to my appeal. My next step is to hire an attorney. We are all facing hard times, agency is there to provide assistance and I have called multiple times, with phone calls being recorded, but provided with no answers or solutions. Told to just keep waiting.

Desired outcome: Benefit denial adjudication

Ohio Unemployment Allowing my account to be hacked even though they initially caught it

I filed for UE benefits in April. It took until June to have my benefit released, but then it was put on hold the next week because someone had hacked my online portal and entered their banking info, a different phone number and email address. I was asked to resend in all of my information so my identify could be verified. I phoned weekly and was told nothing could be done until the processing center reviewed and corrected my information based on the info I sent. So yesterday (7/29/21) I did my weekly check and see that my benefits were released, HOWEVER when I looked at my online info, the fradulant bank information was still on my account and yes, they paid the fraudulant account my $3840! The person I spoke to at JFS even actually told me to try to contact the frauds bank and tell them all of this and see if they would not allow the money to be transferred. Mind you I had no name or account number nor any authority. So, JFS caught the fraud mistake, held my account, then someone did not double check the data, and they allowed the fraud to occur anyways. AND YES I was told I am to blame! This is all such frustrating BS. I filed a report with the FBI and the other things suggested, but I get a feeling I'll be paying taxes on money I never received. I do not know here else to turn to. The least they should do is educate and f/u with the employee that failed to do their job! It makes me wonder if employees are in on the scam... why not, they let it happen with no reprecussion.

Ohio Unemployment Unemployment benefit payments

Hello my name is Shannon. I have been waiting seven weeks for BCC to verify my identity for my unemployment claim. They stopped my unemployment at the beginning of June saying that they needed to identify me to see if I really was who I said I was. I have submitted all required documents and still seven weeks later, after being quoted an initial time of processing of 7 to 10 business days have not received a penny. They have outright lied about the status of my claim on several occasions that I have called. They have set me up with callbacks for the BCC and the URI department is the one that called saying that the BCC doesn't call people back. So why are the agents lying to the claimant? Not only that after 4 weeks of calling they finally did my fact-finding even though I had been calling every week since the 10 business days have passed and the agent flat out said that some people just don't like to do their jobs. So I'm assuming that this is the attitude of the whole department of unemployment for a job and family services. Nobody wants to do their job or do it efficiently. Or do it officially. At this point the whole agency is a waste of allocated tax dollars. There needs to be a major overhaul and a firing of every employee including the director and a major Mass hiring event to take place where people like myself who wants to get the hell off of unemployment who have skills an education can come and make a difference so that this won't happen in the future to other unfortunate claimants. This is the most despicable and appalling situation I have ever been a part of and this is the reason why Ohio bleeds residence and the skilled an educated individuals who are brought up in Ohio choose to relocate and move elsewhere and benefit other economies across the country because Ohio just isn't worth staying in and its current corrupt form with the level of oversight that happens on every level of government.

Desired outcome: My desired outcome is for me to get my money but I won't hold my breath
