My mother who is a chronic kidney patient was hospitalized on January 11th 2020, by Dr Arun Kumar nephrologist and he performed all possible unnecessary tests and within two days the bill was 53, 000. All the tests, ultrasound and xray were norma and tha patient was treated with just paracetamol for feverl. As we are covered under insurance the hospital insurance department sent a cashless request for which the claim got rejected with a reason that they need justification from doctor for hospitalization of patient as she had just fever and the tests could have been performed on oPD. Both insurance incharge Mr Pavan and Dr. Arun had recklessly rejected the query and I professionally denied to give us the justification letter. Post this i came down all the way from Bangalore to request them for letter, the doctor said he will not give any such letter as he did all the tests suspecting infection but he don't want to justify the same. Mr Pavan has been so unprofessional and rude who don't want to even listen to what we are requesting. The consequences are we had to pay huge bill by our own pocket because Dr Arun's reckless management of fever and the non cooperation of Mr Pavan who never even listen to insurance company or us. I thought Narayana has good doctors and staff but after this i am highly disappointed and would like to take this matter to media if i dont get justification from doctor to why fever management was so complex. Mr Pavan is highly incapable of the post he is in he must be asked to leave as many capable and responsible people around who can do the job best.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
