Mountain Hardware does not back its products with a meaningful warranty.
The company's response to two out of two or my submittals was "Practical lifetime of material exceeded". On the phone, with a full explanation of the problem, they hinted that they would honor the warranty, but then after I went to the expense of shipping, they did not.
E.g., my tent had two long glued (not sewn) seams. The glue failed, but they would not stitch it as indicated over the phone. Gluing seams is a manufacturing/design defect. While the tent was some years old, I had only used it a couple of times.
Would not every defect submitted to the company exceed the lifetime of the product? It is a “catch-22”.This renders their warranty objectively meaningless and dependent on the subjective whim of the company.
Recommendation: Do not even waste your time and money sending anything in under the so-called warranty. Just swallow your loss.
