This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I too signed up with this company after they gave me a phone call out of the blue. They eventually convinced to take out advertising with them claiming that they would boost my call volume and therefore my business, promised me thousands of extras calls a month etc. Different staff phoned within days changing the contract as I thought but then said I had agreed to three seperate contracts! I can count the number of extra phone calls i have recieved on one finger!

This aside the main problem i have had with them is there complete lack of customer service and attention to detail, I have had money taken from my credit card that was not authorised, endless phones call & emails etc. It took ages to rectify the problems. I agreed to one contract in the end.

What a complete and utter joke of a company. Using this company and their services was the worst days work i have done and a complete waste of money. Poor service and non existent customer services.

Has anyone noticed how quickly they respond to anything put on this or any other complaints forum. They must have someone monitoring the web for complaints with a list of stock replies. I don't think I will be phoning them again it's only giving them another chance to threaten me and be abusive again. The last time I was told that I was arrogant! That's a joke coming from them.

It seems that I like many others have been stupid enough to fall for this organised scam, I to have fallen into this rolling contract, and also had the gross misfortune of dealing with an extreemly agressive character giving the name of Brad, he told me that they were perfectly within their rights to extract money from my account due to the previous contract. To date they have taken over £1000 and have threatened me with a debt collection agency, the bailiffs and a court action ! Since the last heated conversation they have taken a further small amount ( because they have wiped out my bank account and that was all they could draw ). I am a one man band workshop and was also promised more work than I could wish for on the inseption of this nightmare, over the last year I have received nothing ( although according to "Brad" they say they have several enquiries listed ! ) Since reading all of the comments about these dispicable human beings I have cancelled and further payments though my credit and debit cards and am waiting for the next unpleasant phone call to tell them thats it, do your worst ! bullying of this level should not be allowed or put up with in this life, it's difficult enough trying to survive without leaches like this .

It's not working with 2 calls in 3 weeks when i was told i would be getting 45 calls a week generating 15 jobs a week ? i was told lies by dave and co to make me take out ad.I think that 2 calls in 3 weeks is a disgrace and nobody in their right mind would have agreed to pay £3000 for this level of traffic.I was lied to, mislead, and misold this ad package and therefore have asked in early stages of taking out the ad to be cancelled because of the errors caused by staff providing false information on stats etc in order for me to buy this ad and you have refused. As i said to anyone thinking of trading with Motortrades.co.uk ...think again...and steer clear...there are much better ways of advertising where you do get instant results and lots of traffic for your money...just look at their reviews on the net to see what kind of service they provide...USELESS

Hello

Reference [protected]

We are sorry to hear of your complaint and have contacted you directly by email.

We have provided the services that you have ordered and have billed you as per your signed agreement.

The campaign is working and we have provided you the stats to show the web clicks generated and the number of views.

To keep things in perspective, we have around 400, 000 listings, and any business of this scale would have a few negative reviews on-line. Of the 30 or so complaints on-line, the majority of them have been resolved and the others are without foundation.

Yours faithfully

I ADVISE ANYONE NOT TO TAKE OUT ANY ADVERTISING WITH MOTORTRADES.CO.UK...I too am having problems, i was given all these high figures of calls i would receive each year (2000) and would get 15 jobs a week from it...when i said that i was digraced with performance of the ad he then changed his story and said that he was referring to someone who had spent £8000 not £3000 like myself so should not expect 2000 calls a year(obviously was told this after i had paid )...i have had an ad running for 3 weeks now (£3000 a year) which has brought 18 views to my site and probaly 2 jobs and so far ...if that...i was told numerous lies about when payments would be taken, had 5 different people saying they were in charge of my account and kept phoning me trying to sell me more ad packages for £6000 saying this will really work...(yeah bet it will)...an absolute mess...judging by what has been posted on the net about these you would start to think they are just a bunch of con artists and liars, i have now contacted them asking to "optout" and cancel the contract...bearing in mind that i wanted to cancel after 2 days as i started to get bad vibes about them but they insisted i wait 3 weeks for the ads to "kick in" probably in order to make it too late then for me to "otpout"...but they now say it's not an "option".. LOOK UP ON THE NET HOW MANY BAD STORIES ABOUT THEM...JUST TYPE IN "TROUBLE WITH MOTORTRADES.CO.UK...STAY AWAY...KEEP CLEAR...KEEP YOUR MONEY IN YOUR POCKET...BAD NEWS ! THANKS

Dear Vicki

If you are not the account holder we would not be able to speak to you without permission of the account holder which he should provide to us by email, ideally using the same email address that he e-signed his agreement from, which will prove his identity.

For security reasons we do not communicate the full complaint on-line, as it may involve the upload of signed agreements and recorded calls, which may contain private and confidential informaiton, e.g. your home address and your bank details.

If you wished to post our responses on-line, you are of course welcome but we would not do so directly as this could leave you exposed for identity theft. Vicki, we handle all complaints with speed and our Operations Manager will be happy to assist you but right now you continue to remain anonomys which makes it a tad difficult for us to assist you further!

You have again made no personal contact despite our offers to assist you. We will not make further efforts with your posting on the forum as we have made clear open lines of communications.

Yours faithfully

Dear operations team,
Will this so called contact get my partner anywhere? As i stated before this company is a total sham, small print you cant even bloody read your intimidating behavior your threats of sending bailiffs out of which we all know you need to apply to court first to do so, what else is there o yes taking money which has not been agreed to, my partner offered you £800 on Tuesday the 25th and a further £200 on the 26th. But no you took £1700 out on the Tuesday which was no way agreed to, o and that if he didn't pay the amount to get myself to pay the rest what a f***ing joke how dare they. Then they asked my partner if he had another account of which he does but its for the mortgage they were expecting him to use that ! As you took more than what my partner agreed to you having, you manipulative little people put him O/D on his account so now he has had payments refused and now has bank charges will you be covering these? O and yes then rings back demanding another £1000 knowing that he hasn't the money. The response to that was you can do this the easy way or hard way... What the hell is that supposed to mean apart from another threat... Answer me this how long do you people think your going to get away with treating people like this?As i can assure you i will be supporting my partner in taking this matter further.

My partner is in the same position same thing has happened to him. Feeling pressured into signing up to this sham, of which like many others had no work from. Now the time has come where they want him to pay the most disgusting amount of money and again like others they bullied him and belittled him. The threats i mean what the hell is that all about how dare they think they can get away with it? Do these people suffer from short man syndrome? the only time in there life where they can bully, intimidate people is at the end of the phone, i mean really! Makes you wonder how these arrogant pig headed people would feel being spoken too the way they do to others, how would they feel not being able to sleep worrying to death about how are they going to pay? wanting to break down and wishing that this really just one nasty nightmare!

Had an ad with them that was totally useless.Did not cost me much thank god.Opted out of the contract. They say they are the yell.com of the motoring world.Stick to yell, as you will be better off. They lead you to believe their site is the bees knees, and will increase your business no end .It won't.

The worst thing about them is their telephone manner.Harsh, poor English, abrasive conduct, and general drivel about the effectiveness of their site.Life is full of media companies offering you the world. To me, this was a dead duck who will stay dead.

A shoddy company who should not be in the on-line directory business.

Totally disgusted with this company,
Had a phone call out of the blue on weds of this week, the guy said my renewal was up for paying and a total of £3300 wasnow due, at this point i thought it was a joke. After challenging him he said he would sort out a discounted rate so i suggested he ring back. Sure enough he rung back with an offer of £2600! I must now point out that my first years subscription was £100.
The guy said he had emailed the offer over and demanded that i open it while he was on the phone, at this point i asked (and two other people were in the office) if this was simlpy to view it and nothing else, yes its just to view he says, click here click there he told me then proceeds to tell me i have entered a contract? I am now even more dumfounded.
He proceeds to TELL me that hes going to charge the card i paid with last year.
I spent the next hour or so being abbused, bullied, belittled by this excuse of a man on the end of the phone.
Part of the conversation was that because i hadnt given notice 60 days before the first years subscription was up up had automatically roled into the second year, mmmm.
I then told him that we sent an email in 05/10/11 one month after taking the first years subscription stating that we wanted to opt out of any further advertising/costings and we have proof it was opened and read..At this point he became even more aggressive and degrading.
I have totally have been misold this product and welcome a transcipt of the coversation to prove just this point. At one point he even covered the phone and i heard him say to a someone else something about a load of Fu~~in bull##it. Very big and clever...
I could write pages of how rude and aggressive he was during the conversation but its all over the internet for all to see anyway. I am just so glad that the card they charged last year had expired so they could not pysically take my money.

Dear Mr Feay

We have been made aware of your forum posting; copied below for your reference.

Dear Sirs
I have today received a threatening telephone call off one of your operatives regarding a claimed outstanding bill, a bill which I did not knowingly agree to on the terms now stipulated, I was misrepresented and mis sold the product. I was assured in fact promised increased business and sales... to date i have had not one enquiry let a lone job! I have been threatened and bullied by your operatives, I am no longer in work due to ill health and am currently awaiting disablement benefit the threats and stress received today have caused me further problems.
Today at approx 3.45pm you contacted me for the 1st time asking for money you 'offered' to reduce and reduce the alleged bill of £1650, to £837 to £500 it is now £450 (as a buy out clause), i have explained the situation to you to no avail - you are now threatening me with a summons if not paid by 10 am on Fri 31 Aug (tomorrow). I have now sought advice and can tell you I will not be paying this alledged amount/bill/account. I will be issuing a summons against you for the monies already paid and mis representation under s3 of the Misrepresentation Act 1967 and the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and the The Enterprise Act Furthermore I have contacted my local Trading Standards Officer Mr Steven Brimble regarding this matter and he will be investigating further. I have also contacted the FSB and sent an email to Dominic Littlewood and am awaiting his response with interest as your scam is just up his street. Tomorrow i will have a tape attached to all my incoming calls to enable me to record any further threats and bully boy tactics off yourselves as I WILL NOT BE THREATENED OR BULLIED ANYMORE BY THE LIKES OF YOU! Please do not contact me other than in posted letter form as I will be passing any correspondence directly to the solicitor, trading standards, FSB and Dominic Littlewood and if need be to the local press. I will also be posting reports on Blagger.com, pissed.com and any other internet based complaint regarding your company I can find. I repeat I WILL NOT be BULLIED or THREATENED by you again...so if you wish to take this further please do so down the correct legitimate channels and stop harrassing me in the meantime, thank you REFERENCE 67356, 67357 & 67358

You were called as you have cancelled direct debits on three live agreements, orders [protected] and 67358 and have a balance owing to us against these orders.

To remind you what was ordered, we enclose a copy of the signed electronic agreement, which you downloaded, reviewed and e-signed at 1530 on 21 May 2012.

To follow by immediate email will be the confirmaiton call recording of the orders being made by you on 21 May 2012. This call will remind you of exactly what you ordered with us under the above agreements.

We note from your file that you have previous discussions on 01 June 2012 with our Operations Manager and an email was issued to that week after your dialogue with Fred Rudgley confirming that various orders were cancelled, however, the orders [protected] and 67358 remained live. In the telephone call of 01 June 2012 you accepted that and said that those payments would be made.

Despite your assurance that you would pay for the services that you have ordered, you have not done so.

You later cancelled the Direct Debits and this is what has lead to you being called yesterday by Paul in our Collections team.

We do not accept that you were in anyway harrassed or bullied, we called you and offered a disocunt in order to clear the debt which remains outstanding in accordance with your signed agreements. This is a preferred option rather than the need to issue proceedings via Northampton County Court as it saves both parties time and costs.

From reviewing your file, we are confident that we have acted correctly in our dealings with you, and we would be happy to speak with Trading Standards or any third party concerning your complaint should the need arise. We have a relationship with Trading Standards, they have approved our terms and conditions of business and our sales process is fully compliant with Business to Business leglislation.

As you have requested no further telephone calls, we shall now deal with this matter by way of post. Finally, we should put you on notice, that any libellous libellous statements published by you on-line, or indeed off-line would be passed to our Solicitors, Sanders Witherspoon LLP to handle. We take our reputation seriously and will not hesitate to issue proceedings where we feel a grave libel has been committed.

With your permission we would also be happy to upload the confirmaiton telephone call recoridngs and signed agreements to the forum so that otger readers of the forum can make an informed decision as to the actual facts of this matter. If you are happy for us to arrange for these to be uploaded to the forum we will require an email authorisation from you to enable us to do so.

Yours faithfully

Dear Mr Smith

Re your further posting, you are most welcome to arrange an appointment to come and meet with either a Director or a senior member of the team.

Our building is the first major building on the left as you enter Hubert Road, (7 story glass fronted office complex) you will need to arrange a meeting via telephone at [protected] or email operations.manager@motortrades.co.uk and we will need to arrange car parking for you with security to avoid your vehicle being clamped as Hubert Road is a private estate.

Mr Smith, we have attempted to resolve any genuine issue that you feel that there may be without success, as you have not made any direct contact with us and appear to be wishing to retain a degree of anonymity with your postings.

It does not make sense for us to continue the debate via the forum, and if you genuinely wish to arrange a meeting, please do so via the above channels.

Thank-you.

Dear Operations Team,

Hubert Road as you well know is a very big road with lots of industrial units and offices. Lets say I wanted to mail a letter to Rogers ### what address would I need to put down because thats about as specific as a saying I live in a house.

I don't want to phone or email you I want to come in person and sit down and discuss where my money is? Like a human being!

Regards, Dave Smith ( a house somewhere or is it a flat?)

Dear Mr Operations (no real name again),
I'm sorry but you lost me. I'm no doctor. I dealt with you over a year ago when you tried to pressure sell me into taking a second contract out with you because I changed my business name. Then you tried to bill me some crazy renewal price and I continue to see you ripping people off and do you think I'm really going to forget the money you have taken off me? I think not. I've had my eye on you all year week on week on different forums I see more and more complaints. There is no smoke without fire and I can assure you I will keep fighting for people you ripped off like me.
As for your Solicitors do what you like. It just makes you look more like scammers all the time.
It sounds like DR KA is some other poor company no doubt you took money off.
You seem to make a lot of enimes. All info on my previous post is readily available on the Internet anyway and can be seen by anyone. You cannot censor open information.
I think you know what your doing is wrong and misleading and I'm sure someone is getting rich and fat on the money. But all this bad press about you and you still continue with the non specific email addresses and no proper business address why the need you have to hide from everyone makes you look even more suspicious and I can guarantee you will not disclose where you actually trade from. If you did I would love to meet you in person it would be my pleasure. But you won't I put money on it. Oh hang on I already have!
If you provided a good service with a good renewal price not £1600 we would of continued with you but you just scam people saying we are in some electronic contract. You also point out other companies that advertise with you as a selling point, after last year I contacted to of the companies you said were advertising with you and it turns out surprise, surprise they weren't impressed with you and hadn't paid your crazy renewal price and you had kept there details on without there permission to use as a selling point. You have even been on Watchdog what does that say about motortrades.co.uk.

Regards,
Dave Smith (Huddersfield)
