This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I too signed up with this company after they gave me a phone call out of the blue. They eventually convinced to take out advertising with them claiming that they would boost my call volume and therefore my business, promised me thousands of extras calls a month etc. Different staff phoned within days changing the contract as I thought but then said I had agreed to three seperate contracts! I can count the number of extra phone calls i have recieved on one finger!

This aside the main problem i have had with them is there complete lack of customer service and attention to detail, I have had money taken from my credit card that was not authorised, endless phones call & emails etc. It took ages to rectify the problems. I agreed to one contract in the end.

What a complete and utter joke of a company. Using this company and their services was the worst days work i have done and a complete waste of money. Poor service and non existent customer services.

The people who run these telemarketing company's from Essex are a joke it's the same crap time and time again . It's amazing that Essex trading standards have not put a stop to it . Steve jakes is another name that crops up time and time again as well . 5 mins research on google into ufindalocal will give you pretty much all the info you need on how they run these operations . Incidently ufindalocal was the one I got cold called by in 2012, I had my own website and had linked it with google business directory witch is obviously how they got my number . This guy rings me up saying he has all these bathroom jobs in my area and needs local traders like myself to do the work . Ok I'm interested, we then have about a 20 min conversation about what I do and my business and I pretty much give him the whole company history thinking that I need to sell myself to this guy if I'm gonna get all this work falling out his backside . Then about 35 mins into the call ( we're all pally now ) the conversation seamlessly move toward me signing up with them, only now do I get the name of the company Ufindalocal wich I have to ask for 3 time beffore he says it clearly enough. Next thing I know I'm on the phone to his colleague being recorded for 5 mins to what I thought was just to clarify the deal we had been talking about for me to think over the weekend . Thank god For sites like this i googled these scammers that night before they had my card details, and I deleted the e contract they sent me without opening it . I also sent away the recorder delivery the sent by post without signing for it. A month of non stop sales calls followed ( up to 30 calls a day sometimes) it was relentless and bullying . When they finally got the message that I wanted no part of thier crummy website for idiots it turned nasty, I got a call from some manager or other trying to hold me to the original agreement and saying I owed them 600 quid and that they have a recording of me agreeing to this and they would take me to court . I laughed into the phone and told him to F off because I was we'll aware that wasn't enough to hold me to deal as they needed to have tricked me into signing the e contract as well . I have since registered my numbers with the TPS online ( very important if your have phone numbers out there on the Internet be it your website or even and advert in gum tree ) . I rarely get cold calls now and on the odd occasion I do the end pretty fast when is mention TPS . The funniest thing was they made this website of theirs sound so fantastic that I couldn't believe how rubbish it was when I checked it out online . It was very confusing, not at all user friiendly and looked like a 5 year old had designed it . It was obviously just cobbled together quickly and they had even set up a Facebook business page that was also just for show because it had only had just enough likes about 30 I think and there was a couple of posts about 2 years old from when they set it up and that was it . I knew no one was bothering with it because if they had bothered to maintain a face book presence they would have seen all the complaints customers were posting on thier wall lol . After 2 or 3 years when trading standards catches up with them the money disappears they liquidate the company and the staff don't get paid . As its a ltd company the directors can't be made to pay the debts and its on to the next scam . Search media I think is one of the latest ones . Steer clear

PD says that there is no evidence yet linking CORBY with this company.

He also said that the guy believe to be one of the managers is still hanging round there, although the boss-man hasn't shown for a few days.

He's still on the case, but has asked me not to post any pictures till his work is done, he has lots - he wants to confirm that the pictures are of MOTORTRADE employees before they go public.

This company is complete and utter ###, they tried it on with me and my business but I told them where to poke it, still wiaiting for the court summons to appear for the so called fees I owe them.

So I thought I would do a little research, they are based in Brentwood, Floor 3, Reigent House, Hubert Road, Brentwood - CM14 4JE

I've got a private detective on these guys and will disclose as much information as I can find about them

So far, and he's only been on them for a day. One of the believed managers is driving a BMW X5 X-DRIVE 4.0d registration YF13 PXU.

He's promised me pictures of the gent, will share these when they arrive.

Without repeating what has been written by many previous people, I too have had the same experience with Motortrades / Resourcer Grp or Dev.box.or what ever they may call themselves with their many different titled "Managers"
Their little scam goes something like this:- They get your trust by pretending to help your company with advertising. They then ring later to offer you a better deal, and if your unlucky maybe a third time. Each time you agree to a deal it counts as one contact (but they don't tell you). Then after you get caught out by their "not canceling clause" they look up at Companies House to see how much they can extract out of you by an intimidating phone call that goes along the line of "the discount will be halved from say £10k to £5 (for each contract) if you pay up there and then" other wise it will revert back to what ever figure they make up in the first place!
They may even change your contract from advertising to something else just to get your money. You are happy just to agree to get them off your back.( After 90 mins +they wear you down.)
The thing is they keep your Card details illegally and use them over again without your consent.
Cancel your card immediately!
If it has happened to you, get your card company to do a charge back. They will kick and scream, but they haven't got a leg to stand on!
Hope this helps

Hello everyone,
I used to work for this company and sadly the ethics behind this company are very poor!

I was going to answer some of your points but 7 pages of complaints it's just to much to do! Lol

The companies to avoid that are all run by this 'group' are;

Motortrades
Ufindalocal
Traderesourcer - they think this is there baby!
Escortresoucer
There even thinking about bringing out ones for solicitors, accounts etc

The operations manager is Fred Rudgley (think that's spelt right).

The have two offices so watch out for phone calls from Brentwood and colchester area codes!

From my knowledge of how this company operates I have informed trading standards in regards to a few issues that certainly shouldn't be happening!

Also a couple of organisations/institutions are in contact with me - but at this stage I have been ask not to divulge details.

If anyone wants any further information I shall try my best to answer any questions you have!

Best regards
Mole

This guy is running an Escort directory, after several pestering phone calls I agreed to sign up, paid £239 for 12 months advertising (which is in line with other directories), 5 months in I receive a phone call saying I've not cancelled their autorenewal (has to be within 21 days) and bill at renewal will be £2800 BUT if I paid upfront at that point I could get it reduced to £1400. I will be reducing my advertising and probably winding down by the renewal date and will not want to renew, never mind pay £1000 or £2000 which is ten times more than even the best directories. They've told me I cannot stop this and I know it's a scam, they also said the 'discount' wouldn't be offered again...pressure to make me pay up now, I wanted to look at the t&c but they said if I put they phone down they'd not give me the discount again...real pressure but I put the phone down.
I did not sign up for a 2 year contract and I will be taking legal advice and I am not afraid to contest this. If they'd offered the same price without the scam they'd not now be getting warnings about this posted, and might just get renewals instead of a load of angry people but I suspect the few who do pay the extortionate fees make up for the loss in business.

Dear “Maggot”

We are sorry to learn of your posting, if you are a genuine customer with a complaint, we’d like the opportunity to resolve it, and would ask that you contact us directly, at either operations.manager@motortrades.co.uk quoting your agreement number, (found in the subject line of the agreement that you signed on-line) or by telephone on [protected] asking for Operations on extension 7803.

We do our best to resolve complaints with speed and professionalism, as a business we have been trading for six years and have around 550, 000 listings live across the sites, it is inevitable that any business of this scale would have some complaints on forums, we are no exception to that, but unlike most companies, we do take an active interest in resolving them.

Our Terms and Conditions were approved by Trading Standards, but if you have a genuine complaint, as stated, we’d love you to get in touch, or if you’d prefer, as you are local to us, (Chelmsford) you are of course welcome to make an appointment and meet with our Operations Manager over a Coffee.

Regards,

Operations

Seems to have gone a little quiet,

It's the same old story on every forum that this despicable company and its brothers and sisters are mentioned.
Some facts, they are not interested in you or your business, they are not interested in running a legitimate business, they are out to extract as much money as possible and they have been very successful at doing this, they may or may not be working just on the side of legality, constant complaints on many, many forums are answered in the same way " please contact so we can assist you with your problem..." etc etc this is just a ploy, the longer they can keep us talking and complaining on forums, the less likely we are to take serious action against them, the only thing we can do is to swamp Trading Standards and programmes such as Watchdog with complaints, it is only these that will hopefully hurt them - not complaints on forums. The forums do have their place and that is to make others aware unfortunately the majority of postings on forums are from people who have already been on the receiving end
An idea, mentioned before, if everyone contacts several companies in the same listing as them and relate their experience then hopefully these businesses will be forewarned, I have and they have been grateful for the contact.

This operation has been around for some years, under various names, making money all the time all they need to do is to keep operating, so lets make a joint concerted effort to at least TRY and eradicate them, contact and complain to Trading Standards, they are already being investigated so the more ammunition given the quicker they will be gone.

Order Reference [protected]

Further to your posting of 05 March, you confirmed an order with us on 09 January 2013 by way of a recorded telephone call and provided bank details for the purpose of making the payment.

You were then issued our standard agreement for your consideration, which you chose to download, review and e-sign.

At that stage the contracted services were provided.

The full payment has not been made and your account has been passed for Collection / Recoveries. We are sorry to learn of your complaint, but the facts remain you did make an order, sign an agreement, and like most commercial organisations, we do expect to be paid for the services that are ordered, and provided.

If you would like to discuss this matter you can reach us at [protected] quoting order reference [protected], where a member of the team will do their best to help.

If everyone who has suffered from dealing with these ### was to look on their website and contact advertisers in their area, tell them to look at this website, then refer them to clause 6 in the small print. That should be enough to make them think about cancelling .

I cancelled my account over the phone last year to prevent an automatic roll over/renewal. It states in their brochure that you can call, email or write to 'opt out'. However this call was not logged in their system. So they have automatically renewed me despite their advertising not generating any business for my company. When I said I wasn't interested they persisted and threatened to take a large sum of money if I didn't agree to the lesser amount. I was called several times within a couple of hours and was harassed into signing an agreement despite not wanting any contract with them. Their customer service team have no respect and talk in a very unprofessional manner, I will be taking these ### to court. They say they record all calls, except when you ask for copies strangely they only keep the one where they force you into an agreement you don't want. This company needs to be taken down.

Dear Mr Harding

If you are a genuine customer and have a complaint that you’d like us to look at, please contact us directly on [protected] asking for Operations on extension 7803, we only ever bill payments that are authorised by you, and confirmed by way of both a recorded telephone call and also a signed agreement.

If you can provide an order number, (found in the subject line of the electronic agreement that we asked you to sign), it would help us to resolve your complaint quickly;

Mr Harding, we don’t fail to deliver, the services ordered are made live the following business day, and Business to Business agreements are covered fully by UK Law.

We don’t use ‘fake’ adverts either, all listings on the directories are genuine customers, each of which we are able to demonstrate with a recorded call and a signed contract.

Our processes are fully compliant with all Business to Business legislation, our terms and conditions are lawful and do not breach any Trading Standards legislation, we remain concerned that you may have a complaint, and if you care to contact us directly, we’ll do our best to assist, however, you should refrain from making further defamatory or libellous statements on-line, as this could create further issues.

Yours faithfully

ufindlocal is a con company, they take your money then fail to deliver with the poor yellow pages style website. then when you cancel they sit on it for a year then try to take the money out of your bank then smugly tell you you cant ever cancel as its a b2b agreement so not covered by most of the laws in england...half the adverts on there site were fake as i called 9 of them and none of them apart from us were genuine, my roofing company suffered and only fools would give them money. they have part ruined the motor trade and now setting there site on other poor sods.

they are extrementy agressive, chap called matt will threaten to take you to every court in the land yet they wont as the know that are in the wrong, come on someone close them down..

We feel that as a Customer focussed business it is sensible practice to be alerted to forum postings about us, and as you’ll see from the forums, most companies don’t respond and do nothing when a complaint is posted.

Dear 'Operations'
If you have it set up to report complaints as and when they are posted then you must be expecting a lot of complaints to come your way. I have been in business for a lot of years and until now it never entered my head to complain on one of these forums. It is only because of the amount of complaints you have attracted over a lot of websites that brought me to this one.
Anyway we all know that contacting you direct would not solve anything, after all I did sign the order, even if it was under pressure and with the threat of prosecution for non payment if I did not sign and pay while your operative waited on the phone. I have written off any thoughts I might have had about getting my money back but I will make sure at every opportunity that as many businesses as possible know about your tactics. This is my final response to your messages.
