Zebra Tag Printer
Midcom sent a technician to try to repair our tag printer. First thing he did was run our credit card. After several hours, he was still unable to fix the printer. He installed a platen roller that was not even necessary since the machine was irreparable. Now Midcom is insisting on charging us $323.95 for zero service plus a part we never needed and couldn't use. When we tried to reach a compromise - I felt I had to give them something just to get them to go away - they simply halted discussions and went ahead and charged my credit card with an amount that suited them.
Desired outcome: Removal of $323.95 from my credit card.

Service Plotters

Our company wanted our plotter to have maintenance just clean and check. There was nothing wrong with the plotter. I understood when I called the service would be 175.00. I thought this was reasonable for trip charge extra and to clean. The bill we received was 437.50. I called and Midcom told me it was per hour 175.00 the extra was a trip charge. They did not have this in bold on the agreement. When I received the bill they had a note in bold "ask us about annual service plan. I was charged $262.50 over charged for this service. The tech was very slow have very little to do the invoice says troubleshot; there was no TROUBLE just clean.
Midcom did call me about the quote I told them that my computer was old and I never saw a quote. She stated that the charge was 175.00 for the service call plus 50.00 for the long distance. The form I received was for the additional 50.00 trip charge that I agreed was ok still question why because Baltimore was not that far. As I said before the whole service I thought was only 175.00 I would never agreed on 437.50 for a maintenance call there was nothing wrong with the machine.

MIDCOM Data Technologies, Inc. spoke immediately to Melinz to address all the concerns with the repair charges. Both Melinz and MIDCOM were agreeable to charge only for 1 hour of labor/travel to evaluate the printer and credit back the charges for parts and shipping. Per the customer's request we will be assisting in helping to find a replacement for the unrepairable printer.
MIDCOM is happy that we were able to find a resolution suitable to the customer and look forward to doing future business with Melinz.
