Very deceptive!!! Extremely upset
There is a yearly membership of $ 285. The site does not mention this. When you use Instacart there is an option for a membership. When you check out with Instacart. I used Mercato.com in 2021 for Easter dinner due to pandemic. They charged me $285 I called to cancel the membership. I did pay for a ham and rib roast. I even tipped the delivery driver. When I called asking for my money back. The guy I spoke with ended up saying he would cancel my membership. I told him I was unable to cancel through their site. I was charged $285 in 2022 and again this year. They will not refund the money to me. I have not used their service since 2021. Please, use any other delivery service. I am leaving this review where ever I can.

I am very pleased with and grateful for this service. Customer service staff responded quickly and has been very helpful when I contacted them. It is easy to order online, and I appreciate being able to make changes to the order as needed. Communication about the order and when it will be arriving is clear and very helpful. The quality of the products and produce I received is excellent. And as a senior citizen, I appreciate being able to support the local independent store I like to shop at while sheltering in place during the pandemic. I am recommending this service to neighbors and friends.

I normally live down in *** and use *** and InstaCart, but those aren't available in ***, and quite frankly, I have endless complaints about both of those services. I am now staying with my 92-yr-old Mom (in Cloverdale), who needs help after surgery, and I am keeping her (and myself) away from people due to COVID. Using Mercato for Ray's *** pick-up has been a Godsend! And they are just the most excellent, kindest people. They call with questions about your order and go out of their way to ensure you get exactly what you need and want. Thank You, Mercato, for making that possible!

The delivery was perfectly coordinated within the window of my chosen time slot and food was in great condition upon arrival, my sicillian parents were overjoyed with the delicious food and cake!The driver for Mercato even calledme when he delivered at the door,love the courteous call and good nature of our driver!My only dislike is the constant emails my inbox gets bombarded with now that I used Mercato for this occasion, I didn't sign up for the subscription b/c of the special occasion . I really would prefer to have a setting to determine the limits of emails I receive from Mercato.

Mercato delivers from large number of shops in the *** and a number of quality shops at the Italian Market. The items are packed carefully, insulated on ice when necessary and 99% correct. On the one or two occasions in the past year when there has been a problem Mercato Support responds promptly and issues a credit. I subscribe to the monthly charge for unlimited free delivery and it is well worth the $9.99 because I use the service about every ten days or so. In addition Mercato often offers deals such as $20 off $100 or $15 off $75, and sometimes free shipping. I started using Mercato because of the pandemic - I intend to continue using it no matter what. It is an incredible service!

I live in Philadelphia and they are unable to facilitate delivery within a 2 week time frame. I understand that these are difficult times. Because I cannot use Mercato in this area I tried to remove my credit card info from the website. It is however not possible for a customer to delete their credit card information from the website so I emailed requesting assistance in doing this. No reply. I called twice and the reps said only a supervisor could delete financial info and that someone would call me. I'm still waiting 1 week later. DO NOT use this company. Customer service is poor and they cannot be trusted to handle personal financial information. They behave as if they own that information rather than it being the property of the customer.
Absolute scammers. Please stay away from this company. They save all your personal and banking information and then refuse to delete it. There is no option on their website to remove your credit card, they automatically save it, without asking, nor there is an option to close or delete account. I have contacted them MULTIPLE times via email and phone and nothing. After weeks of trying to close my account and asking to delete my bank information I had no other option but to tell them I will be filing a complaint with ***. The next day my account was deleted even though I have never received a reply or confirmation from them, so I still don't know for sure. In these difficult times some people may want to shop online, but please - there are many other options. There are actual legitimate companies, that know how to do business. Do not use Mercato.

I've relied on Mercato since covid hit us but I think that I will continue using their services even after (fingers crossed!). Their fee (something like $5) is beyond reasonable given the prompt service they provide: typically, I've been getting my groceries within 2-2 1/2 hours of ordering online. It would take me almost that long to do it myself! I've only ever used them to shop in one store ***) so I don't know if they perform universally well, but in my little corner of the ***, I'm happy. They seem to work well with both shoppers and delivery people (I assume these are not Mercato employees) to insure seamless service. Ordering through Mercato has truly made my life easier. I particularly appreciate the fact that delivery people have been uniformly friendly and helpful, carrying my stuff up to the 3rd floor without the expectation of an extra tip. Tip in cash! :)

I benefited from "Groceries-to-Go". It was helpful but very *** food. Constant issues regarding delivery of the food (left outside my door with perishables or sitting dumped, unattended at front desk in my lobby). Being bmbarded, with little milk cartons, consumed in *** public schools. I HATED throwing unopened cartons. Pleaded by phone and with delivery persons, I would prefer juice, but it fell on deaf ears!MERCATO enabled me ease of prompt deliveries, very nutritional food, and selection from a plethora of vendors in my local zip code. It had options to track deliveries, leave PostMates notes even for the vendor that I choose, my consent, to go ahead and replace out-of-stock items! I chose delivery date and time, ensuring I was always home to receive my deliveries!I was informed December is, my last credit towards eligibility and selection criteria changed; based on this new criteria, I no longer qualify to be receiving Mercato!I'm homeless and I reside in a sustainable housing program. The alternative offered to me by Mercato was to be re-directed to food pantries, hosted by churches etc in parts of the city not accessible to me due to their distance away from me, (past experience dealing with such entities) a lot of high sodium, fructose, canned foods. I had *** eligibility assessment in Staten Island with ***, and it will not be until 21 days, by mail, whether I am approved fot this service.If someone "higher up" can take empathy in my case. I am both mentally, physically disabled; on heavy pharmaceutical prescriptions, requirimg consuming healthy, balanced diet, to counteract medicines I take, which have very sedative.
