McGrath Arlington Kia I went in with my son on feb 24, 2020 to buy a used car

I went in with my son on feb 24, 2020 to buy a used car. My son found and Acura TL and agreed on price of 8700$. We went into finance office with TJ and he had us initial papers with no total on it. He then asked me if we wanted a warranty. He quoted us anywhere from 10-30$ extra a month. I told him he could afford the 10$ a month payment that he said would be 257$ a month We put a 2000$ down payment. The loan should have been for 6700$ plus taxes and fees. It was my mistake to not calculate the payment. I asked several time what the amount of car was and it was the 8700$ agreed upon price. A few weeks later I got the loan papers for a 13,000.00 loan. I called to get copies of the papers and the papers have a 11,000 for the car plus fees and a 2500$ service agreement. The total Price was 15,000.00 None of this was agreed upon. As I read these other complaints I see I am one of many to be scammed by this dealer. The car broke down less than a week after we bought it. The car was in the shop for 5 weeks. The service department would not call or respond to what was going on. Multiple phone calls made to see what was wrong with car. This dealership as well as TJ are very untrustworthy. I am out several thousand dollars for a car that they put loan in for and extra 5000.00.

DO *** EVER GO TO THIS STORE. you will just waste your time and money there. There is no minus rating option available here otherwise i would have given them that. WORST experience with them. Trash service and sales team themselves have lack of information and knowledge. Rude while following up for update on my payment. First they confirmed everything with bank, got approval of loan and handed over key of a car to us and then after 18 days (12th March to 30th March ) they asked for more money (e.g. $ 4000 more while i had paid $2000 as a down payment already) or else asked us to give the car back. while asking for an explanation they blamed us for credit score but in that case why we got the key at first ? and why they took 18 days to get back? We decided to give the car back but the sales person said he wont be able to give the downpayemnt money back right away but he will give the check in couple of days. They made us wait 15 days to get the money back because he said signing authority is not available. They gave me $ 1100 back from $ 2000 down payment i made. They deducted $ 900 which is very unfair. When we requested him for more, they gave $ 250 more which they said was for prorated payment. they charged $ 500 for restoking fee and $ 150 for the miles i drove the car. i understand $ 150 charge but why i was charged $ 500 restocking fee? You got the approval first and then you gave us the car then why we got charged for restocking ? Name of the sales person we had worst experience with is ***, he was having zero knowledge about the car and he didnt even try to give us any other options in car also he was just pushing us to get the extended warranty of $ 2000.

McGrath Arlington Kia Shady business practices

Shady business practices. I went into refinance a car and was talked into buying a car and I told them that I couldn't cuz I had no money to put down and I couldn't afford a bigger payment. They told me that that wasn't a problem so I walked out of there with a *** forte for the same amount of money I paid on my original one with no money down. Finance manager took me in his office and told me he threw in some things for me. Bumper to bumper warranty including electronics, free maintenance oil changes for 5 years, protection on my tires and protection for dings on my window and all of that for the same price because they wanted to keep me as a valued customer. In the finance office I said I don't even know how much I paid for the car I need to tell my wife what I paid so he pulled out a sheet showed me the price of the car told me what I got off for the trade in and then wrote the price of the car on the front of the envelope and then put everything back together in the envelope and sealed it and I left. Mind you when I went in that office I signed some paperwork on a *** and then he was done and I told him I never saw the price of the car he told me he was printing everything and put it together in a nice little package for it.When I got home I opened the envelope and I looked at it and yes I got all that coverage that he said he "threw in" yet that cost me $6,000.No one ever spoke to me about the price of the car or the financing rate or additional things they put in for the price. I was told was I got a brand new car at the same exact payments that I had before and everybody was proud of themselves and I left. Yes I left there with a car for the same price with no money down... But no one asked me if I wanted to pay $6,000 for those additional coverages. That I was told they "threw it in".Called back and spoke to Cody who was the finance manager and brought this to his attention and he told me but I give you I'm having to spend any money over the life of your car and no other dealer would give you that stuff for free... I asked him why didn't you tell me you charged me for it instead of telling me you threw it in? He told me he would watch how he said it in the future. Finance manager also told me at that point that it wasn't his job to discuss with me the pricing for the car, that that was all agreed upon with the sales rep yet I never for a moment got them *** worth of information from the sales rep. I actually called the sales rep the night before because they were trying to sell me a smaller car and I asked him for the numbers and he said he wasn't privy to them but he knew that he could get it within my price range. Now have a huge car *** with an additional 15 months over my original *** and stuff that I would never have paid $6,000 for. This place is shysters. I'm going to take this to *** and make them aware because I tried to bring it to the location and all they did was try to smooth me over and tell me how valued I was and laugh at my $6,000

McGrath Arlington Kia I purchased a vehicle on 3/2

I purchased a vehicle on 3/2. Dealership added an extended warranty which I cancelled a few weeks after. It has now been 3 months, and I still have not received my refund. I contacted the warranty company who stated they sent the cancellation to the dealership 4/15. As of 6/15, my lien holder stated they have not received a check from this dealership for the warranty refund. I have left voicemails and made several attempts to contact the dealership and have yet to receive a phone call back. I just want my $850 back.

McGrath Arlington Kia I had a bad experience from a Kia car dealership in Palatine, very misleading and fraud

I had a bad experience from a Kia car dealership in Palatine, very misleading and fraud. I went to McGrath Arlington Kia dealer last Thursday 12/03 after I saw an add from a dealer's website, to purchase a car for my retired father in law. They were misleading and said the contract will be mailed to you in 5 days and put us on a wrong program which we didn't like. After few days, I realized that it was lease to own not a purchase. the sales person never mentioned about the lease during our conversation. I realized that from the various rating sites that this dealerships has been doing fraud for a while, many people have had bad experiences and this kind of fraud activity should not happen to another honest citizen in our community. The dealership address is 1400 E. Dundee Road, Palatine, IL 60074 McKia.com and the sales people involved were The store Manager (name is unknown), ***, and *** and their contact number is [protected].

McGrath Arlington Kia Ohhh were to begin

Ohhh were to begin... I bought a 2011 Mercedes c300 from this dealership a few years back and everything went smooth. Fast forward a few years my girlfriend and I decide to buy a new car. I came into dealership thinking I would get the same great service. This was not the case. The original price of the car Mercedes gla 250 was 19k but with all there crazy fees it added up to 28500 out the door (with 2500 down mind you). They did not give me a copy of the contract at point of sale nor a copy of the extended agreement (I still don't have it). I was told it had a full inspection done and that I was buying the best warranty available. When I brought the car home I found out the windshield was damaged. I called the used car manager who told me he would send someone out to fix it and to his credit he did. Fast forward 2 weeks and less the 300 miles later the cars check engine light goes on. I text Garret (the sales guy I bought it from). Who never responded. I called at least 10 times as well and it wasn't till like a week and a half later that they took the car in only to state that it was a module that wasn't working and that the car would have to go to Mercedes. I was also told the warranty that I was told would cover it in fact does not and I was never offered the correct warranty at point of sale. Used car manager then followed up by saying he would do nothing and demanded the rental car back on 2/16 (during a snow storm) or he would call the police. I would avoid this dealership like the plague. My girlfriend lexi left a review as well and they responded saying we never bought a bumper to bumper warranty. Like really? This has got to be the worst dealership ever. First they will rip you off by adding 5000.00 of dealership fees then add taxes on top of it.

McGrath Arlington Kia I recently went to this dealership

I recently went to this dealership. I found a car that they had on *** for 24,500. I went there and got them down to 22,000. About 24,500 with tax. I traded my Kia is for what they said at the time was $9000(they now say $8500. They lied about what was on the contract after i confirmed 7 times that i was getting the deal i wanted! A week later i check my *** loan on the *** app say i owe 13500. Was supposed to owe $7500 said and done. Now im out of $6000. I tried to talk to them and they were so rude and said that i signed what i signed. I dont know what to do and its been causing me to stress out immensely. Ive had a gray hairs pop up in my beard since this has happened. They are scammers and i got scammed. Ive also had to get an allignment. New tires and its in the shop now cause the transmission is slipping. I asked for 0% financing because of the coraonavirus! Thought i was getting a deal but they tacked the interest on me. Went in to see CHRIS TO buy a 2018 Chevy Silverado! I thought I was getting a decent deal. I WAS VERY WRONG! First off always read the fine print! I was told that I was getting $9000 for my trade in and HE LIED and put $8500 on the paperwork! Then I gave them a $8000 down payment! I got my deal down at 0% interest for 5 years because of the COIVD-19! So $16500 In credit I would have. Got them down to what $22000 plus taxes! So about $24500 with taxes! The truck was going on *** for $24500 so I thought I was getting a decent deal! $24000-$16500=$8000 ! They only could take out $1995 because most Call Centers were shut down because of the Virus! So we signed a 2nd contract for $6000 that would be ripped up in the next couple days after the payment were paid! A couple days later I got my statement from chase saying I owe $13491 instead of around $8000 MAX

McGrath Arlington Kia On Saturday May 9th I went into dealership to purchase a used 2012 silver Kia Sportage

On Saturday May 9th I went into dealership to purchase a used 2012 silver Kia Sportage. After haggling back and forth with our salesman Jeremy *** and "his number guy" we came to a final numbers. However, on sheet I initialed, the dealership tried taxing me $1008 tax. In Illinois, sales tax is 6.25% for state and 0.75% for Lake county tax. The price we settled on for car was $8,000, so tax should have been $560. I left the dealership that evening without the car because I had no financing yet. They wanted me to sign some more paperwork to take car without financial backing, I declined and said I would be back Monday night after work to check on status of any financing. Mr. George *** however kept my down payment check 0f $1000. He said he was not cashing, since no financing yet, that it was just to ensure car wasn't sold from underneath me. So, I returned Monday night May 1th to the dealership. Still no word on financing, even though George said he worked on it all day. So, I told him I didn't want the car anymore, may I please have my check back. Mr. George *** said he deposited the check. At this time, my wife, Patty, was with me. She told George what he did was against the law because we still had no answer to financing. George and the sales general manager then tried to bully/intimidate me to take the car. Again, I reminded them I had no answer for financing and I didn't want to purchase the car anymore. My wife at this point had already been asked to leave the building, because she raised her voice at George ***, who wouldn't return our check. let me remind, I still was not given the go ahead about financing; which was still in "the works" as George put it. Not having been approved for financing yet, isn't even why I decided against getting car. It was their shady swapping numbers and hidden fees. My wife, told Jeremy it was shameful what they were doing especially since we purchased 2 other cars from them; even still financing the last one we purchased.

McGrath Arlington Kia I arrived at the dealership knowing exactly what car I wanted to test drive

I arrived at the dealership knowing exactly what car I wanted to test drive. The salesman brought out the car and I took it around the block. Everything went well and I wanted to proceed with purchasing the vehicle. The salesman gave me the price of the car after I qualified for the rebates. He told me the price of the car was $17,500 (roughly) after rebates. Then he added on the tax, license fee and McGrath 1 year warranty that he said was mandatory. The final price of the car was now $22,500 (roughly). This was a little high for my budget but I still agreed. I let him know that I would be making a $6000 down payment which he said was fine. I would now be financing the final $16,500. He said that he would lock me in at that price and all that was left was paperwork. I met with the finance guy in his office and we started with the paperwork. I signed multiple sheets on paper and electronically. At this point no price was discussed. He asked me if I would like to pay an extra $20 a month for bumper to bumper protection. I agreed. At the very end he gave me my final monthly payment of $353. (This is where I was mislead) I was not aware that the $353 monthly payment equalled over $25,000. I was under the impression that I was financing $16,500 plus the added protection. It never occurred to me to calculate that number because I was already told that I was locked in at the price that the salesman and I had agreed to. When I went online and saw that I owed $22,500 I was confused. I should only owe $16,500 because I made a $6000 down payment. Turns out the price of the car was completely switched on me without me ever knowing. I called the dealer to see if I could fix this problem and they said they did not have any proof of the price that I agreed to so there was nothing they could do. This now means that I am paying $31,000 total for the car! This is far beyond my budget and I simply cannot afford this. If I had known about this price I would have never bought this car

McGrath Arlington Kia We searched online and came across a car that had a dealership price of $9,999 posted online

We searched online and came across a car that had a dealership price of $9,999 posted online. We came in Monday night and were assigned with Abel who let us test drive the vehicle and were told about all the things "included" with the purchase. We told him we'd come back the next morning to begin paperwork and start the purchase of the vehicle we wanted. We were told to give a ball park payment of where we wanted to be at and were told to sign a makeshift promise to buy sheet, which I thought was different but went along anyway. To this point the purchase price of the car is still $9,999. Our current credit isn't the best and knew that's a big factor in getting a better deal so we came prepared with a $5,000 down payment. Not once was any extras fees discussed with us at this point. Enter *** the financial or business manager there. At first he seemed to be on our side and did try to make us feel like we were valued customers up until I noticed a discrepancy in the price of the vehicle the next day. I came in the next day and spoke with George as to why the final price of the car went from $9,999 to $13,000? He said and jotted down a bunch of dealership fees they not once spoke to me about. What he told me is that I should have asked. What type of dealship isn't transparent with their own fees? He by his own admission said we should have been told about this fees. I left with no resolution and frustrated that I wasn't told about these fees beforehand. I got a follow up call from Abel the next day apologizing for not disclosing these fees. I came in that same day wanting to speak with George but he wasn't there so Cody stepped up briefly helped and showed me a breakdown sheet of those fees that I once again never was informed of. I came in to see George the following day to resolve this issue to which he seemed disinterested. TJ comes in has a conversation with us that goes nowhere and I ask him to give us the breakdown of our fees. He literally tried to snatc
