Maximum Burn Extreme review: Unauthorized charge to ATM card 75

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

I ordered some Acai diet pills the other day online. I did the free trial for a 30 day supply, all I had to do was pay $3.87 in shipping. My ATM card was charged 3.87 on 05/05/10. Today I checked my bank account online to find $87.87 is being processed by the same company. I am livid. I tried calling several of the phone numbers, the recording says to call back during regular business hours. I spoke with a rep at my bank and he said to cancel my ATM card. Then no more unauthorized charges can go through. I will have to file a claim now with my bank, it could take up to 60 days to get my money back. I am so upset. The website I found this on claimed to have Good Morning America and several local news broadcasts backing them.
The rep at the bank says he's seen this happen countless times. I can't believe they are getting away with this, especially after reading all of the complaints posted. They need to be shut down. They are thiefs and con artists. I hope they burn in hell

I too have been scammed. I ordered both from Diet Max and Naturacle.com (the website recommended the combined products). I noticed my credit card was charged $87.47 for Diet Max (Maximum Burn Extreme) and $83.93 for Naturacle product. I called the Diet Max number at [protected] and spoke to someone who I could hardly understand. I advised I wanted to cancel and did not want any further shipments mailed to me. I was told that I couldn't cancel that day because another shipment was about to be sent and that I needed to wait until I received it, then call them back and get an RMA# and send it back. Then I would get a refund. There was no mention of a restocking fee of 45% which I found out on my next call. I argued to no avail stating that if the product hadn't been shipped, then they should be able to cancel the order to avoid me having to get it and then send it back. The rep insisted that this was the only way to get a refund. After complete frustration I had to wait for the product. Once received, I contacted the same number and they said they would cancel my subscription and that they would email me a link that I had to click on and complete the requested info and hit "SUBMIT" in order to get my refund and cancel. Samantha advised that the email was a do not reply but she never mentioned that there was a 45% restocking fee that would be deducted from the refund. As soon as I read it, I contacted the company back and was told that when I called in the first time trying to cancel that I had agreed that I would get a 45% restocking fee deducted. I advised I had not been told or agreed to that. I got nowhere and called my credit card company to have them contact them to resolve it and they couldn't get anywhere either. Then I pulled up my credit card account again and found that 5 days ago I was charged another Foreign Transaction fee and a charge from Diet Max for $1.49. What the heck is that. Then I also noticed another Foreign Transaction fee and a charge of $9.96 to another company that I had never heard of. Now I have to call my credit card company back because I never authorized that. If I cancel my card to stop the charges I will have to redo all my ACH items that I have set up to pay legitimate bills. I am so frustrated. I will definitely be sending a letter to Florida Attorney General. And when I return the stupid product I will have a letter in it to cover myself for cancellation and send it UPS for proof that I sent it. I can't believe companies like this get away with it.

I ordered DIET MAXX MAXIMUM BURN EXTREME, They charged me 2.95 for a 10 day trial.. Well! I warn anyone out there that is considering to purchase this. DON'T! First off I ordered it on 10/2/10 and didn't receive it until 10/13/10/ . They charged my credit card $87.13 on 10/14/10.

So much for having the actual 10 days to try the product. They are charging you from the day you order it. Most likely you will not get the product till 10+days after you purchase it.

I tried the product for 3 days and it sent my heart racing, sharp pains in my chest. I had a hard time sleeping at night, I would wake up feeling like I couldn't breath.

I called and spoke to a representative from the company on 10/18/10. He kept apologizing to me, told me he would cancel my order, well that's great but I told him I wanted to be refunded for the product and again he apologized multiple times and said he will help me but under the terms and conditions he can not help me.
Makes absolutely no sense to me.

Obviously there is a problem with there product if they can't stand behind it. To all of us that bought it we were scammed! If they can't stand behind there product! What are they hiding!

I also thought that I would not be taken advantage of, but I was. I was luckier than some here that I have read about. I was charged $23.90 instead of the 1.99 for posatage that the free trial was supposed to cost. I did not even order maximum extreme I had asked for a free trial of Diet Max and received the other instead. I realized that after five days later when I had not received the product that I had never received a confirmation in my e-mail, so I looked on line at my credit card and found that I had been charged 23.90 on my credit card instead of the 1.99 postage that I was supposed to be charged. I then called the company and complained about this charge and that I had not even received the product. I was told I could not be helped and was given another phone number and then after three other phone numbers I was given I knew that I was getting the run around. I then found these complaits and called my credit card company and had a hold put on my card and I have put in a complait. I don't think that I will get my money back, but I learned a lesson anything for free is never free. I just hope that this company gets put out of bussiness because what they are doing is freud.

I also took the free trial and was told that I would get a free sample of the Diet Max for 1.99 half the price for normal postage. I send for this and found that I was charged 32.90 on my credit card for not Diet max but Maximum burn extreme. I then called Diet Max and complained that I had not authorized this transaction and was told by agent 47 that they would take this of my charge card and I would receive a email confirming this. I did not receive this and then after five days called the company again . They told me that this agent was no longer with the company and that they could not find my account and to call this other number [protected] to get this resolved. I called that number and they said that they could not help me with the tranaction because the only thing they had was my name and address. When I got upset they said please wait and then was disconnected again. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor and the was disconnected. Called back and was told that they were having problems with their phones. Then I looked on the back of the bottle and called that number . They had my account but could not refund my money because this order was placed and I had received the merchandise and it was a one time charge and that it came with a diet book and a number of other things. Which by the way was never send to me. The actual cost of the product is 89.90
which I was not told, never received a e-mail either. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me she would talk to her and then told me nothing could be done. I then insisted to talk to her suppervisor and she asked me to hold on after about a minute I was disconnected. I then called back Diet Max, this time quess what they had my account and I really got upset and said i wanted this charge removed, they stated that they would not remove this, that I had a one time charge and that they could not give me refund. I told them that this was fraud and that I was going to contact the better bussines bureau and pay pal and then go on line and report this to any site I could and they informed me that I could do what I wanted and I would not get a refund. I called pay pal and the said they would dispute it, but after reading this I had a stop put on my credit card that I would not be charged anything else. I might Have to pay this 23.90 and write it off as anything for free is never free. In the end you always end up paying for it one way or another. I am going to write my State Attorney and hopefully somethig can be done about this so other people would get burned. I have ordered other things on line and this is the first time that I got ripped off.I quess I have been lucky. this product is a scam.

This is also happening in Australia ! I agreed to the free trial, and then noticed they had taken not only the $4AUS but a few days later they took another $98.02AUS.

Somebody has to stop these thefts ! My email's get bounced back, the customer service number on the pills is discontinued, and it appears the "Dietmax" web site is up for sale.

My bank have blocked them from taking any more money, and fortunately I dont have to go to the extreme of cancelling my credit card, as my bank say they can issue another card with a different number, or change the expiry date.

I usually only use Paypal for online purchase, but as this was such a small amount for the free trial, I just didnt think, and used my normal card. NEVER EVER AGAIN

I am reporting them to the Australian Fraud Squad.

I ordered this and realized the email stated you must cancel within 10 days of ordering not within 10 days of receiving it. So I by chance looked at the date and the day I received it was the 10th day. I called straight away and said cancel this and where do I send this back. How do I know if this works if I've just received it today. They dont even give you a chance to try it. So far there has been no $87 charge. I did receive two emails and you have to read the FINE print and follow the instructions very carefully. We consumers are to honest so we are not paying attention. SO far things are ok on my end but I'll report back if I am also charged. Also the bottle that I received is not the same bottle on the website . ITs a totally different product.

Have you got a Govt. consumer watchdog in the States? I suggest you place a complaint with them. This is outright fraud.

May I suggest you use PayPal to buy online in future. I had a similar experience with another product and PayPal refunded my money.

I have sent an email to sales@brightwhite.com, telling them not to debit my bank account and that I have reported them to my bank and the Florida Attorney General's Office . My Bank says that cancelling your card does NOT stop them from debting your bank account. You have to send something in writing for you bank to support you!
I hope this helps!

I too bought the Acai Berry trial bottle. I did see that they would charge you full price of $87.47 (10) days AFTER the order date. They charged me the $87.47 on the 7th day and I was very upset. I called and spoke to a nice gentleman Andy Anderson, he tried his hardest not to send me to a supervisor but I insisted. He did cancel my order and transferred me to Jane Parks, Escalation Supvr. She PROMISED me a refund within 24 hours. That was on the 21st. It is now the 23rd and still waiting. They left me with $0.91 in my account. I was not prepared for the $87.47 to be withdrawn. I called again today (the 23rd) and spoke to Nicole who kept talking and insisted that she was in the U.S. (Hollywood, FL) Oh, I said where the TS Bonnie just hit? She assured me that she was inside a building. I asked her if that building was in Manila or Panama?

The Supervisor she finally transferred me to was Camille Montez, whom also promised me a refund of the $87.47 yesterday! It's today (Friday) and it has not shown up on my account, I started this on Wednesday. The number I called was [protected] which is the number that shows up with the withdrawal of $3.85 plus the name of lean body. There was also a $0.12 INTERNATIONAL fee. When the $87.47 was withdrawn from my account it showed EL TECAL which is in Panama.

There is no email address, they have it so it comes from your own email address or a donotreply@donotreply.com

REMEMBER, IF YOU GET A CANCELLATION CONFIRMATION EMAIL, fill out the form and via magic they get it. It MUST BE DONE, otherwise they won't refund you.

STILL WAITING FOR MY MONEY...

everyone needs to report these companies to the florida attorney general's office as well at the FTC Bureau. Companies like this should NOT be allowed to do business in the USA. Why doesn't Florida State YANK THEIR BUSINESS LICENSE?

I also have been scammed, I only visited the website then received a call from a representative from the company leanbodyburn saying that they say I visited the website but for some reason didn't order it and were inviting me to be a testimonial customer. I was hesitant and then stupidly agreed. They were to send me a 60 day supply for a reduced price of $32.90. When I received the product it was not the same Acai Max Cleanse pill as promised, instead it was Maximum Burn Extreme. When I contacted the company I was told that their systems were down and could not pull up my info, then I was told that they would transfer me to their supervisor which was just a recording, this excuse was made over and over again. The next representative even told me that I contacted the wrong company even though it was the same number listed on the customer care section and the same number that was on my bank debit. I have also contacted CNN and will be contacting the other news agencies who have endorsed these ripoffs!

I don't remember ordering ANYTHING, yet yesterday I received a bottle of some fatburner thing that I would NEVER use, as I am very wary of this kind of stuff... Of course there was no invoice or shipping info; just a bottle in an otherwise empty envelope. I immediately Googled the return address and came across this site. Thanks for being here, and thanks for all the previous comments. I checked my credit card activity right away and discovered the charges, called them and they cancelled the small one (for the "free" sample) and suspended the $87.47 so it won't accumulate interest or late fees. I still have to return the product, get a return receipt, and file a disputed charge form to get it cleared completely. After reading the above I guess I will also need to make sure that merchant is blocked from making further charges...

I almost got suckered in. I did the promo for shipping only, thought, I could cancel and that would be that. In 24 hours, never got an email on the transaction or anything. Went to my credit card online account and saw the $3.87 shipping charge as " pending ". Also the receiver of the funds WAS IN PANAMA ! I called my card company and explained my situation and just said, " This just smells bad." Couldn't do anything about the charges that was pending, but I could get a new account number, and I did right then and there. " Within 10 days of purchase, you can cancel." B.S. I DIDN'T GET THE PRODUCT FOR ELEVEN DAYS ! Let me tell you this. I do alot of online transactions and when they tell you that you will receive a email conformation, if it doesn't come in thirty minutes, you better start checking it out and more so your credit card statement ! These people are overseas and can't be touched. Just as stated above with all the .coms and phoney tele numbers.

Don't believe all the crap you read. Acai is no more a "super" fruit than the common blueberry. It has no magical weight loss powers. It is what they call a "SCAM". Goos luck getting your money. The parent company is in Panama.

I too ordered this product believing the free trial hype, i had only just ordered the product when i started browsing the web and came across this site with your complaints, i have been trying for hours to find contact details for this company, the numbers supplied for Syndex Industries are invalid and surprise surprise no e mail address, i have still not received a confirmation e mail for receipt of the shipping payment, therfore i have cancelled my card on the advice of my bank in case any more of these payments are taken from my account, i would never have known this had i not stumbled across your comments, so i can only thank you all very much for sharing your experience with this company and i for one will be more careful when searching for my quest to be thin.

I ordered this product over a month ago and I still have not received it. I contacted the company after 5days of not receiving and and told then to cancel the order and any other services that would come with this. i just checked my credit card statement and to my suprise I was charged for the product. I called again and spoke to a Rep who knew nothing. She continued to say yes and ugh ugh after every question. So i asked to speak the supervisor who was worse that she is. He said that they can't refund my money due to their 10/day policy. To my surprise there 10/days also includes weekends, I dont' know what part of the world that they are in to have such policy. So I will not receive any money as per them...THIS IS COMPLETE ### AND I THINK THAT THIS COMPANY IS FRAUD...FOR THOSE OF YOU OUT THERE PLEASE DON'T TRY AND TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT BECAUSE IT WILL COST YOU BIG TIME...

I learned two things from my experiance with syndex industries. Firstly, if you see the word "free" on a website, it has been mispelt, it should be spelt SCAM. The second is that when I was talking to them, I told them the truth, that I am a single mother living on benifit, and if they kept taking momey from me, my son and I would not be able to eat. They responded by telling me that the product was great, and that I should keep taking it for at least 3 months. So, there lies the secret of the product. If you can't afford to buy food, of course you are going to loose weight, it's nothing to do with their crappy product at all.

I also was conned by this company. I ordered a free sample, they said they needed my bank details to pay for postage. Six days later they debited my account by £28.23.
After a lot of digging, I found out that the company you are dealing with is: Syndex industries, 398 E, Dania Beach blvd, suite 395, Dania beach, FL 33004. Phone no: [protected]. The code for UK is 00.
I phoned them up (don't forget that they are 8 hours behind UK so you need to phone after 5pm for it to be 9am there. They finally agreed to cancel my subsription. They emailed me a form to fill in, and send back. Hopefully, that will be the end of it. You should also ask your bank to send them a letter of cancelation. Once this is done, if they still try to debit your account, the bank can get your money back.
When you phone up to cancel, make sure you ask for an order number, you will need this to fill out the form. The password is "online" If you live in the UK, the zip code is the numbers only of your post code.
I hope this is helpful to anyone else that are being scamed by these ( sorry, can' think of a word bad enough to describe them).

the phone number is on the back of the bottle.[protected]. they do answer there. they also say they are going to send an email to cancel, and so far I havent recieved it.. I also received the charges on my card after they showed cancelled. Any one notice the product being different then the one shows from the news?

I too have been suckered in by these creeps. I feel like an idiot but I thought I'd just order the free trial then cancel straight away - no harm done. The phone numbers I have tried are diconnected and I cannot find an email address for the life of me! It's impossible to cancel my order so now unless I change bank accounts I will be billed close to $90 EVERY MONTH forever! It's ridiculous!
