MASA Global review: Masa sold me a plan their was no chance they would have had to pay a claim!!

Masa Salespeople try to sell you insurance plans for emergency transport services. They scare you by telling you that emergency transport services are not regulated by the government and that they are allowed to charge you excessive fees that will keep going up because of not being regulated. Their salesperson said that am ambulance trip will submit a bill to your insurance company and they will pay like $250 and that in some places, you can be charged the difference which in some places can be 2 or $3000 more for a 3 or 4 trip to the hospital and a life flight could be like 20 or $30,000.00. There are different aspects to the plan that appeal to different people. Like if I traveled around the US or internationally, I could say that those aspects of the plan are enticing. But I am very unwell and I barely leave county let alone the house except for going to doctors appointments, haircuts and occasional brief grocery store trips. So there was only 2 aspects of their sales pitch that enticed me. The first being that if I needed an ambulance and my bill is that 2 or $3000 more after insurance. That all I have to is write that I have Masa on the bill along with my member and they will pay whatever additional fees there are. They will not try to negotiate the the bill. They will just pay it. The second is that if I am taken to the ER by ambulance and I am admitted, they will pay whatever additional fees they charge for me to have a private room if one is available. So that is why I purchased the plan. I had just moved here and nothing about the charges in my area for ambulance service. You would think a salesperson would get a brief idea of the charges in the county they are inviting people to have dinner and explain their services to. They don’t. And the only thing I would paying extra for where I live is only the Masa fees. In my county, the part where I live has free ambulance and fire service. I found that out a couple weeks ago when I called to see where my bill for an ambulance I took to the hospital. I was happy to have my Masa card and give it to pay the difference. They don’t even bill my insurance. Then if I am taken to our very only good hospital and I am admitted, they don’t even have to pay extra for me to a get a private room. Because all their regular hospital rooms are private. But with moving here 6 month before and not knowing about those to aspects their is no charge for, I had no idea and then the invitation was vague about what we would be discussing. So I couldn’t research before I went. And they are trying to catch as many thee to sign up. So, on the aspects that appealed to me. they had nothing to cover. There was no reason they would have to pay thing for me. Not a life flight. I am only 3 miles from the hospital. So I asked them to cancel my service before another fee came out and to refund me the fees I paid because they would have never had to pay any claims for me unless I was the kind of person who travels but I can’t. So their response was waiting a few days to cancel my plan which resulted in an additional fee to come out which they said they will refund later and no on a refund on the plan that they knew they would never have to pay out on. They didn’t even offer half of it back. So I say BEWARE, THEY ARE VERY GREEDY AND DISHONEST. Why would you keep a persons money when after you become aware that there was never a scenario in my situation where they could have to pay out for me. If it would have been possible, that would be a different story because that is the essence of the term insurance. I never needed one so I shouldn’t of had to pay for it. Be careful younger adults for you older parents. This insurance is only for seniors and disabled people, people who are easily taken advantage of. I was.
