Inhuman, unprofessional and rip off
In April 2009 we were called with a match in our Adoption journey, we were referred by the adoption agency to Jim Handy, the owner/attorney of the aboved company. Upon leaving a message, Mr. Handy promptly called us to explain the process, the fees and what he needed from us. Payment was sent inmediately and unfortunately 5 days later the birthmother had a miscarriage. When we called the office to ask about what was due and what was was refunded, it took over a month to finally get a response ( and after very rude interactions from uncaring employees) and on May 29th we finally received a letter explaining the charges and a note that the refund would be 2437.50. This was after a month and a half of condescending, rude phone requests about my attempts to get an answer to the refund process. We were given the option to leave the refund and "if you are placed again" I will not charge more than the refund. So we did, after 50% of the fee was already on his side for a week of work ( and most of the work is when the baby is born...according to the attorney himself). A year later, we decided to get the refund back, as we lost hope in ever getting placed though this agency...another month of calls went by trying to get an answer about mailing our refund. Finally, another month later they send a letter with the check.However, the check was now for 800.00 less as "we made a mistake on the attorney fees..."it was 350/ hr and not 250.00 as we had calculated in the letter we sent"...I had written a complaint before about this company, yet, it disappeared from the databank with no explanation from Complaints.com. If anyone is looking to adopt or in need of an Adoption Attorney, from the bottom of my heart and with a conscience, I cannot recommend this agency/ attorney. Adoption is a painful, emotionall, stressing process that can be extremely rewarding if completed...but when things go wrong, one does not expect the experts to be so cold, calculating, uninterested once you pose no gain to them, rude to our emotional loss...they dont deserve to be in the Adoption Law business...maybe criminal will be more fitting

Well i second that , except i was the birth mother and rt after i had my daughter he called the hospital and i was thinking about keeping the baby, and he screamed at me thru the phone to give him that baby. Id done one 2 yrs earlier w the adoption agency and it went very well. But when he yelled at me to give him that baby id decided to keep her cuz he damn sure wasnt keeping my daughter after treating me that way. And because of that he pryed into my life and put me on a goverment watch list. Im survelliance 24/7. Hes not a good person especially around kids? Id check him off from being a lawyer. Im tortured with covert military wepons and have been for 8 years. Seems im not the only person whos experienced his rage...
You must of had PLENTY of money. And things must of went Jim Handy's way. Because I was a birth mother and I'd done a adoption already two years before that in 2000. And things went just as planned with her . And there are SOME good Qualities about Deb and Jim. Like getting to choose the adoptive parents of your baby. But the second child I went to them also, and I don't remember the adoptive parents names but she was a very kind and good person. And I've been down some dark roads in my past, and I WAS an addict, while I was pregnant. Still going to Drs. But it was so wrong...I want to tell that lady whom out of my own mouth I promised her that the lil girl I was carrying will be hers . I let her down. I know it broke her heart. To be lied to and believe in someone who let her down. After I had her they found out she had drugs in her system and 24hours later C.P.S had her. But they put that lil baby in the room with me and I held her and didn't want to let go. I thought she might be my salvation to my addiction. I was going to straighten up. So when JIM HANDY called me YELLING at me that I'd better give them that baby cuz CPS was going to take her and I would never know who she's with, I didn't care I was determined to change and get my baby. But make a long story short, as long as I was doing for Jim and Deb it was all good. But the minute I changed my mind. My life has become a living hell. Harrassed me 24/7. It's called gang harrassed to and if you read about it, my life has become just exactly how they describe it. They have turned my community against me by telling them I'm a drug dealer, and the harrassers never stop. Yes I believe that Jim handy turned me into this group and is determined to make sure I either commit suicide or die from all the medical conditions you get from the harrassers. Be careful who you do your BUSSINESS with. My life meant no more to him unless I gave him that baby.
I used Little Angel Adoptions twice when I adopted my daughter and son a few years ago. I can't say enough about them. They were wonderful to work with and always were there for me when I was down and having a hard time waiting to meet my children.
I think the Little Angel Adoptions team was wonderful and really cared about us and wanted to help us complete our family.
We recommended Little Angel Adoptions to 3 of our family friends, we never heard them say anything bad about their experience with them.
I would use them again if and when i choose to adopt my 3rd child.
Well said! I have had a horrible experience with them as well. If I had not already spent $20, 000 I would pull out. Working with them has been incredibly frustrating!
