Legacy did our soffit, eaves, fascia and door in April. They came in July for the door only. They said we could cancel the rest because they didn't know when they could do it. The door was wrong size (4in not 6in). This caused many problems. The threshold is too short and tips forward when stepped on. It wasn't supported underneath and not insulated. We talked about building out brick molds for siding but they didn't do it. The caps were textured, not smooth like the rest of the house. We want a refund or correction. (Wrong door and bad work)

We hired Legacy Exteriors in March for basement devlopment & additional work upstairs. We were talking to other contractors but timing, cost & obtaining permits was critical. The owner assured that he could complete the work in 3 weeks and that he would obtain the permits. Possession of our house was 2 weeks prior to move in. The owner said if it was a bit earlier, the work would be done before move in. We arranged this. The owner left town the day we got possession, no work started in the house until a week later. At move in, we had to put items in storage. Lots of issues occurred, including extremely poor workmanship, the drywall needed to be redone AFTER the painting was finished. The owner didn't check the work during the process. Aside from delays, we worried that permits were not filed. I asked the owner, he assured me and told me to stop micromanaging. When I mentioned the delays, he stopped responding for a week. In July, work still wasn't done & the owner stopped responding (July 8th). We then contacted the county & found that the building permit had never been applied for. Due to this, they didn't do the interim electrical inspection. I contacted the owner about this, no response. He continued to send workers, there was miscommunication as the owner wouldn't talk to us. We obtained permits ourselves, rectifying what didn't meet code. Again, we tried to advise the owner, he ignored us. No final walk through was done despite the owner being informed (by us & his worker) that there were deficiencies. He emailed his final invoice but refused to discuss the bill directly with us. He claims I didn't respect his personal boundaries & was overbearing but fails to acknowledge that his constant lack of response has created many errors and stress. Many have expressed concern with his "ghosting" behavior, as well as his own workers stating he does not communicate. He wants final payment yet has refused to check the work. The extra expenses we incurred due to his unprofessionalism exceeds $9,000.00.
