Out of 3 lawn mowing services and 1 that they only mowed half, we had 5 cancelations, 5 reschedule, and 1 skipped. Also, from our start date of May 5 and end date July 10th, we had 4 providers, 3 who left after 1 job, 1 who only did half of the yard, and the 5th didn't need to come, I cancelled the horrible service.
I live in another state and have renter. I relied on Lawn Starter's integrity and honesty to complete the yard service. I went up to the home and found grass 8 inches, high, weeds along fences 2 feet tall and where they were supposed to edge was grown over the path. It took me and my husband 5 days, 110 degrees temp., 14-hour drive, and $350.00 in accommodations.
Don't make my mistake and believe there are honest/reliable people working for lawn starter. They also chopped up my new $60 hose because it was covered in tall grass that should have been edged.
Recommendation: Don't even start the service!!!! Research, Research! before you sign up.
That is a nightmare of incompetence and I would be absolutely livid about that hose and the 14-hour drive. Here is the hard-nosed fix: email LawnStarter's corporate with a single bullet list of dates, provider changes, and the hose damage photo. Demand a full refund for all services plus $350 for your travel and accommodations, and mention you are filing a complaint with the FTC and your state's consumer protection office. Also, call your credit card company and dispute all charges as services not rendered. For the future, find a local independent lawn guy through Nextdoor or a neighborhood Facebook group. You wasted enough time on them.
