I thought I did all the right research in looking for a reputable breeder. One can never tell from just a website so I went to see her in person. The owner comes across very pleasent and answered all my questions. I was told the dogs were health tested, yet I was never shown any copies of documentation. Now I know I should have asked!
We picked up our puppy at 7 weeks of age and took him home. We were told that the puppy might have some diarrhea due to stress which all made sense to me so I didnt panic when that night the puppy had liquid poo's. We took him into our vet the next day and told them about the stool issue. Our vet immediately ran a stool sample and it came back positive for coccidia. I emailed the breeder as the contract stated you are recieving a happy, healthy puppy and it was apparent I was not. I realize that coccidia is easily treatable but I wanted to make the breeder aware that the rest of the litter will most likely be affected. My email was never returned.
Our puppy was treated and recovered beautifully. At a year of age we had our dog neutered as per our contract. I emailed a copy of the neuter certificate and even mailed a hardcopy to her home. After 2 months I had not heard from Landos so I sent a 2nd and 3rd email asking when to expect my CKC papers. I also tried to follow up with multiple phone calls, no one ever picked up the phone or returned my messages. I ended up calling the CKC 6 mths later and had to get them involved. FINALLY I got my papers. Now fast forward 2 years later. We started noticing that our 2.5 yr old dog was very stiff when he woke up and he was having issues with stairs and such. At first we thought he pulled a muscle so the vet put him on some pain meds and anti-inflammatories. He just wasnt getting any better and it seemed to be both of his legs. We ended up having x-rays done and sent off to the USA to be read. It came back as being hip dysplasia. Again we tried to contact the breeder as we had a 3 yr health guarantee on our dog for hips and heart. They never returnd any of the multiple emails or countless phone calls. BIG SURPRISE! We opted for surgery and had both hips repaired, thank god we had pet insurance. Our dog is now almost 4 and we just got more horrible news, as if what we have gone through wasn't enough. Last week our dog was playing in the backyard with his ball and just fell over. Tests have revealed he has Cardiomyopathy. There is no point in contacting his breeder again, his health guarantee is over with and she never responded to his hip issues. All I can do is warn as many people as possible about this breeder. Since dealing with Landos I have met several people with their own personal horror story. Hip and heart issues seem to be a common thing. They claim they guarantee hips and heart but good luck getting a hold of them.

I saw that she was on that show and was absolutely amazed and disgusted! It wasnt even filmed at her house! BaldWookie, please tell your story. This is the only way others will know. I never want anyone to go through what we are going through. It does not surprise me that 2 other people have already commented on this complaint. I just wonder how many more victims are out there?

My family also just put down our 6 year old boxer purchased from Landos. Just as many others have described, he just dropped while standing in our front hallway one night. We rushed him to the emergency vet and they told us he had Cardiomyopathy. We kept him going on a number of medications which seemed to help and allowed him to live another 7 months without issue, but in the last few weeks we noticed a quick decline. He was huffing and puffing after only walking up one flight of stairs. This morning he collapsed again twice in a row. With broken hearts we opted to put him down as we saw the decline and didn't want to put him in a situation where he was home alone when he had another episode. He was an absolutely wonderful dog and will be missed.

I bought a puppy in 2011. She was sick her whole life. It started with boxer colitis, Then when I had her fixed I requested an xray of her hips and one was displaced. Some times after 2 years of age she developed arthritis in her back and started moving like an old dog. Around 3 she developed terrible allergies. Finally she had to be put down at 7.5 years with a brain tumour.

She does not vet-check her puppies but offers "ten year guarantees" as for obtaining CKC Papers. I bought my dog in 2013. It's now 2016...so good luck.

My family bought a beautiful, playful, loving puppy from Landos Boxers in January of 2006.. We were told he was health tested for everything. Guaranteed for three years. I was requested by Linda at the time to consider breeding with him. I would receive a puppy or the cost of a puppy ( I paid $1200). I told her I would think about it. Two and a half years went by and he was getting stiff in the hind end. We had him xrayed and one hip was a little off. He was not considered 'certified' for breeding. But we were not going to take back a dog that was part of our family. Then Linda called about breeding with a fostered girl. We agreed and we fell in love with the loving little girl, (she was 2.5yrs old) and became friends with the 'owners'. The first litter produced 5 girls and we were not prepared to have a second dog at that time. I asked about the money and again, like others here, no answers. The poor girl had a nervous breakdown after her puppies left. The 'owners' were besides themselves and requested that they not have to breed her again but the very next heat Linda wanted another breeding with our dog. The other puppies went like wild fire apparently. We talked it over and decided to do it. There were 3 girls and 3 boys. Still no money, finally after emails and calls we went to CKC and they called her. I got $600 from her for 2 breedings, not $2400 as promised BUT what disgusted me the most was the 72 puppies, YES 72 PUPPIES on the ground at the same time! 33 at her house alone! You can't tell me that is not puppy mill material! The sad part was the poor girl again had a breakdown and Linda refused to have her fixed. The contact states 2-3 breedings and she was getting her third breeding from this poor dog! The people who loving raised her had no other choice but to give her back as they could not watch the heartache again. They had a vet, dog counsellor, even their lawyer write to her but she came to their house and took her. Once Linda has her back she contacted me to breed again and I refused! I still wonder where that poor girl ended up going. As for our boy, he had a heart murmur, the left hip was never right, and he past away just before his 9th birthday this past November of a cancerous tumor on his spleen. I never did get the CKC papers everyone talks about because I refused to get him fixed after the fiasco. He was the love of my life I wouldn't change a thing about him. I do know a couple of his offsprings' owners. Their pups appear healthy so far. But would I buy another dog from Linda at Landos Boxers, the answer is NO WAY! Find a reputable breeder, this one is not in my opinion. PS would love to hear from anyone with a Maketa and Bosco pup.

Also, I just want to add that I have contacted CKC myself to inquire if Landos is registered with them. Please see the response I got below:

"A breeder does not have to be a CKC member to register dogs, but we are pleased to inform you that the breeder you have requested membership status on LANDOS BOXERS is currently a member in good standing for 16 years with our organization."

The emailed is dated April 10, 2015

I just wanted to chime in with my experience with Linda and Lando's boxers.

My husband and I purchased our male from Landos in fall 2007. He has grown to be a healthy and happy 8 year old boy. Any health issues that we have come across with him have been minor and are common to the breed. When we went to pick out our boy from his litter and later returned to bring him home, her home and kennels were clean and happy environment for her dogs.

I am very sorry to hear that many of you have had health issues with your dogs. My husband and I love boxers, yet we know that the breed unfortunately comes with a number of potential health issues. I have contacted Linda years after picking up our pup with questions and she has always made time to respond to me. We are currently in the motions of bringing home a second pup from Linda.

I understand how devastating it is to lose your family pet. A couple months ago we had to put down our female boxer (from other breeder) due to liver cancer. It's incredibly hard. However, to blame a breeder for cancer in your animal (especially when cancer/tumors are common in the breed) is ridiculous.

As far as the papers go...I can not speak to that. We opted not to have the papers provided to us. It wasn't of concern to us to have his papers. We is a family pet, we had no intention to show or breed him.

I have read some of the more recent posts and my heart goes out to all those who have lost their puppy. I posted on here over a year ago about my 2.5 year old boxer puppy “Byron” from Landos that died of heart failure. I had an awful experience and can’t believe how common this still seems to be with Landos. We ended up getting a new puppy from Tanoak Boxers in Barrie a year ago and she is doing great. Our CKC paperwork arrived soon after we brought her home, and Helga (breeder) even kept in touch to see how things were going. Please everyone do your research, there are lots of good breeders out there.

Anyone looking to buy a boxer from Landos Kennel, DONT !

I was interested in her puppies and came across these complaints, so i decided to call the Canadian Kennel Club (the company responsible for her registrations) and because Linda has NOT Followed their rules and registered all previous dogs, she is flagged from giving anymore registrations out until this issue is cleared up. Meaning if you buy one from her or previously have, dont expect papers! She Is a scam artist with the registrations plus the cash she does not claim for. On top of that, because of her fostering program, you allow her to breed inbreds which is the season so many people are having health problems with their puppies this woman only cars about making money. Not the well being 9f the dogs or the families who are trying to grow a family by adding a dog to their home. she only cares about the trips she goes on and making money. This woman needs to be stopped. Its animal cruelty. its heartbreaking.

I too had a horrible experience with Landos. The puppy we bought ended up having an immune disorder that attacked its muscles. We contacted the breeder and supplied all vet reports to her. We spent $2500. In vet bills and the puppy ended up dieing after we had it for only 7 weeks. Breeder said that it was obviously environmental and washed her hands of us. We now have 2 boxer mixes that are healthy. I tell everyone I can to stay away from her.

Michie, I am so sorry to hear your story. It looks like you and I have a few things in common regarding this puppymill breeder.

If I sound angry it's because I am not only furious at our experience by at my own stupidity regarding Linda at Landos Boxers.

I got a puppy from this breeder 8 yrs ago, he made it to 13 mths of age and dropped dead mid stride out in the field. I was hysterical and once I scooped up my friend and took him to the vets we found out he dropped dead from Sub-aortic Stenosis. I contacted the breeder immediately, she answered, sounded sympathetic and then told me she needed my vets report verifying his diagnoses. Back then her contract just read a 3 yr health guarantee on hips, heart and temperament. We did as she asked and 2 weeks later she said that she didn't have enough evidence to refund our money and that since he just dropped there is no way to know for sure what happened. It could have been a brain aneurysm. She did offer us a discounted replacement puppy at $800. Told us he was from different lines and no issues at all in them, very healthy. I trusted her...our home was quiet and we took her up on her offer for the other puppy. Well...he got to 2.5 yrs of age without any real issues. Then he started drinking excessively. We fed him the food she sold and recommended (Canidae) and he was very active and in good body condition. Took him in and his lymph nodes we swollen so we started him on antibiotics. Then he couldn't keep food or water down...saw a specialist who diagnosed him with lymphoma. Called her immediately and she said to keep her posted on his care which we did. He dies 6 months later after doing 2 months of chemo. He was officially 37mths old. Linda stated her health guarantee doesn't cover cancer...

We waited 2 yrs before we got a 3rd boxer. This is where I was the idiot. Again we went through Landos, this time we took home a female. By 6 mths of age she had 3 colitis attacks, she was infested with worms and 3 of her teeth didn't pop through and were infected. I guess I was a little smarter this time around as I took out health insurance which covered most of it. She is now 2 yrs old and has just been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy.. Which is another type of heart disease.

So here is my advice to anyone who comes across these posts...

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS BREEDER AS POSSIBLE, !

She does not give a flying crap about her puppies once they leave her home. She doesn't do whatever she can to make sure her dogs are from healthy lines. She would rather tell lies or make excuses for the health issues that she sees.

If you continue to go and meet with her and her dogs and think to yourself well it won't happen to us, then you are an even bigger idiot and deserve everything that comes your way!

I filed a written complaint to the CKC. They told me they would need several complaints against her before looking into things. They are a registery...if you have issues with paper work filed complaints with them and request her rights as a breeder be revoked!

Wow. It's been some time since I thought about Landos Boxers. I bought my first pup, Kiara in 2001. She was a pretty awesome dog all around. Unfortunately, she became fatally ill with CANCER at age 4. She fought the cancer for a year which involved 3 (very expensive) tumor removing surgeries. Unfortunately, the cancer had spread everywhere and she passed away in 2006 at the age of 5. I called Linda and explained this to her. She told me she has yet to receive a cancer complaint, let alone ANY complaint about her puppies. She told me as it was past the health guarantee, she could offer me a puppy from her next litter at a discounted price ($200 off). Mourning over the loss of my best friend, I agreed. In December 2006, I received Corona. She had MAJOR temperament issues. I love dogs, but this dog was just AWFUL! We even paid $2, 500 to have her sent to a trainer for 2 weeks. Still, we couldn't get her to behave at all. Aside the temperament issues (as there was nothing we could do about that), I was told I would get Corona's CKC papers after she was spayed. At 6 months old, we had done this. I emailed Linda a copy of the certificate. I heard nothing back. I emailed her about 4 other times as well as follow up emails. I never ever heard back from her. I let that go, too. THEN... At age 3, my poor Corona had a weird growth in the same place my Kiara had! We took her to the vet and whatdaya know? CANCER! At age 3! We opted not to treat her and she passed away at age 3. I called Linda a million times to tell her about this second dog, but was unable to reach her.

PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS WOMAN BY BUYING A PUPPY OFF HER! SOMEONE REALLY NEEDS TO REPORT HER OFFICIALLY BECAUSE IT IS BEYOND ME WHY SHE IS STILL BREEDING!?! IF ANYONE CAN DIRECT ME IN WHO I SHOULD CONTACT TO FILE AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT. I FEEL SOO SORRY FOR THESE FAMILY'S WHO ARE DESTROYED BY THEIR BEST FRIEND DYING AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE!

Since Corona, I have got a Pug and a Yorkie. The Pug is 4 years old and in great health. The Yorkie is just a few months old, so way to soon to tell. I am hoping that I get a good 10-15 years out of these 2 angels.

When I read about the negative comments about Landos a few years ago I could not believe it as my female fawn boxer appeared to be quite healthy. Tonight I experienced the most heart wrenching situation, my boxer Ruby died in my arms. She collapsed suddenly. It appears that she had a heart condition. Over the past two years she has had hip issues and was having more difficulty getting around but overall managing. She was only six, right up to the second she died she was enjoying life and was fairly active. I am so sad to say good bye to my faithful companion. It is hard for me to say whether this was due to poor breeding but just want people to be aware of this issue in boxers. I have read many others who have had boxers report this issue and they did not get their boxer from Landos, however after reading all the posts it is very important to have your dog checked out. Be cautious as I would not want anyone to experience what I did tonight.

My 2 year 9 month old (Landos) Boxer died 1 year ago.
He developed kennel cough like symptoms and then started bloating. After a few trips back and forth to the vet, an x-ray determined enlarged heart / heart failure. I contacted Landos and Linda was very sympathetic on the phone and when I mentioned warranty she claimed that she had "never dealt with a warranty claim before and would need to go back and read her contract". Because this was the first time anything like this have ever happened to her "her words", during this phone call she promised to replace my dog and I should send the diagnosis letter and x-rays from my vet. My vet explained to me that his condition was irreversible and the best we could do was keep him alive for up to a year on expensive heart medication. Without medication, the vet said he would be lucky to survive the next 2 weeks. With Linda’s kind gesture of a new puppy, we chose to keep him comfortable on water pills to reduce bloating until we received direction, but his condition was more grave with each passing day.
It took Linda over 8 days from the initial phone call to contact me with any direction. My dog's health had become severe. She now claimed that she changed her mind on a replacement puppy because it would put her reputation at risk. She requested that I conduct various tests to her satisfaction. Tests would not save his life, only further determine if it was cardiomyopathy as my vet suggested. After a few nasty back a fourth e-mails, Linda’s final offer was to give me 50% off a new puppy with the evidence I presented from my vet. Or if I wanted to spend hundreds of dollars on tests and and transport a dog that could no longer stand, I would get a replacement puppy for free when she had definitive proof.
Furthermore, the x-ray also revealed that he had fused vertebrae in his hind quarters and this was very un-characteristic of a young dog. This was not under her warranty clause and she was quick to dismiss it when mentioned to her.
To summarize, I was very unhappy dealing with Linda during this difficult time and would not recommend her to anyone. Her false promises and then delays in responding did not allow us to react properly and my dog was put down May 19 2012. I would much rather spend the money going to a different breeder than give her another dime for a replacement genetically defective dog.
PS: I noticed online that she has updated her contract to define the exact heart defects she warranties. My contract from 2009 did not have that level of detail.

I am making a deposit for Linda's next litter but came upon this page and now I am very concerned. I have had 2 boxers previously and both had to be put down with health issues. (not Linda's puppies) I have talked to Linda over the phone and she is understanding and responsive to all my questions. Where is the best place to buy a boxer in Ontario? My heart cannot take another sick puppy. I feel like I have just lost my best friend and it has been a year. Not sure if anyone will respond but if you are out there, please let me know. Thanks.

LINDA IS JUST PATHETIC! SHE DOESN’T RETURN EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS. WE HAD CHANGED OUR MINDS AFTER ALL OF THE NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES WE'VE HEARD FROM PEOPLE. I HAD EVEN STUMBLED ON SOMEONE WHO PURCHASED A DOG FROM HER, JUST OVER A YEAR AGO. SHE WAS A RECEPTIONIST AT MY DENTIST AND SHE WAS SO DISSATISFIED SHE WAS ALMOST IN TEARS EXPLAINING HER EXPERIENCE! WE HAD PUT A DEPOSIT ON A PUPPY FOR A LITTER TO BE BORN IN 4 MONTHS. THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN 2-3 LITTERS TO CHOOSE FROM, SO WE WERE QUITE CONFIDENT WE WOULD FIND THE PUP FOR US. AFTER WAITING 4 MONTHS THEN 5 MONTHS WE DECIDED TO GO WITH ANOTHER BREEDER BECAUSE SHE COULD NOT DELIVER. WE HAD NOT PICKED A PUPPY, WE WERE JUST ON THE "WAITING LIST". THE FACT THAT SHE IS REFUSING TO RETURN OUR DEPOSIT IS JUST SICKENING! NO WHERE IN OUR CONTRACT DOES IT STATE THAT DEPOSITS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE!
LINDA...
ALL OF YOUR DOGS HAVE BEEN SOLD, GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK! WE ARE NOT JUST GOING TO SWEEP THIS UNDER THE RUG. WE HAVE BEEN PATIENT!
DO NOT BUY A DOG FROM THIS INDIVIDUAL. SHE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS! THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE! WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 4 MONTHS TO GET OUR MONEY BACK AND YOU WONT EVEN RETURN A CALL OR AN EMAIL! OWN UP TO YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!

Hello, we are very pleased with our Landos Boxer Ali. We purchased her in February 2012 and we love her. Linda has been there for us from the start, gives us all of the time we need to ask questions and to feel comfortable with our new treasure now and from the start. Ali is very healthy, beautiful, fun, active and has been everything we have hoped for. Her personality and physical being is a true testament of her breeding. We are interested in answering questions and are fully endorsing Landos Boxers. In our opinion, Linda has been a very positive influence and has taken her job as breeder to the fullest. She is caring, generous and very flexible. Feel free to call me if you like, at [protected]

I'm sorry but in my experience I have to completely disagree! I've dealt with Linda at Lando many times over the years and she has been nothing but helpful in every way possible. She has been running a very successful breeding ground for many years now. I have never once known her to not return a phone call, Text or email! She is a wonderful heartfelt lady and her Boxers speak completely for themselves. I also know people and personal friends that have bought beautiful healthy Pure bread Boxers from Lando over the years and thank me to this day for the recommendation to Lando. As far as CKC papers, after 1 year as per agreement you submit proof of neuter you will get papers and if not you can get them through CKC. Another thing, for the people out there who are researching Pure Bread Boxer Breeders, PLEASE DO NOT make a final decision from reading one of these complaint boards. The best thing you can do is contact CKC to get reference of this breeder and get the hard facts. Sometimes people get on here and bash others for there own reasons, others also tell truth, the rest is speculation! Out of my experience I've had the best of luck and think Lando is the Best breeder for Pure Bread Boxers. The high Quality standards and 20 years of good business says it all. If (when) I need another Boxer, it'll be a Lando Boxer :) thanks guys and I hope my input can help

I happened to stumble on this by accident, and I have to say you are all driving me crazy! I have known Linda for approximately 5 years. I know her dogs. I have not found them to be anything but exceptional. I myself am a fellow boxer breeder. Unfortunately health problems occur, yes we as breeders do whatever it takes to make sure this doesn't happen. However, it still can.
1. The ear tatoo...seriously...does not and will not have anything to do with your dog getting waxy ears. Are you saying if I had a tatoo on the inside of my ear, that i will have waxy ears on that ear too... not likely. They are a floppy ear dog...educate yourself...it happens...clean them.
2. Aggession issues...really, with linda's dogs or in her line...ya i am not buying it. I just recently had a litter and I said to a friend...This (newborn pup) is pure innocence. It's WE as pet owners that ruin that. DO your research on the boxer breed. BECOME the PACK leader you are suppose to be...not the other way around.
3 Coccida...as breeders how do we know where your dog has been after it has left our care. Parasites can be picked up anywhere. Yes sometimes it comes from the breeders, but it comes from ingested poop...I know my pups do not eat poop when they are with me...as a breeder i do not know what is in your backyard or where you take your dog once it leaves my care.
As for your other complaints...I do not know or have anything to comment. But for the life of me I couldn't just walk away from this thread without my two cents.

I also want to add that though I have never personally done business with this breeder, their website is one big red flag. They clearly run this as a business and look to focus on quantity not quality. They mention a guarantee but don't appear to do any health testing.

What this comes down to is doing the proper research when looking for a breeder. Educate yourself on what should be required of that breeder for the breed you are inquiring about. All breeds have their own health issues and ALL breeders should try and remove those issues from their lines. The only way to do this is to thoroughly health test all breeding dogs. Asking for references is pointless because the breeder will only forward the names of those who will vouch for them. Instead do an Internet search for sites such as this. Out of all these complaints, there has to be truth to some of them. The breeder can claim they have no clue all they want but I seriously doubt this is the case.

Contact your local Kennel Clubs, ask if there has been any complaints against the breeder you are researching. Whether this be the Canadian Kennel Club or American Kennel Club. Ask for copies of ALL health testing on both parents, ask why they chose that breeding combination and what are the benefits. Be thorough, ask to see where the female whelps, where the puppies are raised. If its out in a kennel or building detached from the home, walk away. Thats a puppy mill/BYB.

You as the buyer need to be picky about where you are getting your family pet from. This is a 10+ year commitment. People put more thought into where they are buying their car and what the warranty covers then the life of an animal. Stay away from breeders who advertise on places such as Craigslist or Kijiji or the local newpaper.

If your breeder does not answer the phone or honour a health claim, you have several options. Contact the registry and file a formal complaint in writing. Contact the Better business bureau, take the breeder to small claims court! You can represent yourself and the filing fee is usually less than $100. Get your vet to also write a formal letter with their findings and send in a copy to the registry AND a copy sent by register mail to the breeder. Also, do as many others here have done and file a complaint on the internet. Info on the internet can not be hidden or swept under the rug, its out there, its permanent!

Something happened on this website and erased everything I had, so I'll start over because it's important.
I posted this complaint as Neutral because I would like to position this as a review rather than a complaint. There are some on here who are coming to Linda's defence, saying they're only bashing her. Well I've read them over, and I'll tell you that anyone who says that she doesn't respond to emails or telephone calls would be telling the complete truth. Myth Busted! ;) She gives you plenty of time telling you things on the phone, but once you give her your money, don't expect to her to share any of her knowledge with you.

[Dfuzesi: why do you attack people who obviously had terrible heart and headaches after dealing with these health issues. You are the one who is not an adult. You obviously struggle with reading skills to comprehend that these people have tried to communicate with Linda and got no where. That is what you suggested: calling her first before going "Internet wide". Unfortunately for unscrupulous businesses and fortunately for consumers, we now have the Internet and social media to speak about our experiences. It works both ways. If she were doing an excellent job, plenty of people would be sending her plenty of references. It's called Word of Mouth, and it's been around forever.
Also, I don't see where you mention having a Boxer from Linda before, so why are you acting like your first impressions are so important, above and beyond what actual owners have experienced? You'd think you'd want to know what SOME others have experienced. i.e. no returned calls. You're only talking about what everyone experienced before they bought their pups. Nothing to go on about after taking delivery because you don't have the experience to go on. Right?]
If these 'horror stories' are true about your Boxer's health, I would have to say I'm sorry to hear them. I'm quite grateful to have a Boxer with a much, much better temperament than Linda's at Landos Boxers. I'm quite sure he was actually one that was bred as one of the foster pups, because she is not a loving kind of person that would have nurtured into my Boxer.
Here is my own take on some of the possible health concerns: I tried 7 different foods with my Boxer until I settled on the right food. Yes, my boy has had diarrhea problems since early on. It was that Canidae ### dog food with way too much protein that she feeds the pups. Well it might not be ### dog food for some dogs (little mop-on-a-leash type of dogs or mutts), but it certainly was for my Boxer. She buys it because it's cheap, it's that obvious. She has a deal with the manufacturer and sells it for cheap in large, breeder size bags. Way cheaper than the store. I now feed my dog Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream and he is SUPER healthy. Salmon is the first ingredient. It is so good that we drive to the U.S. to buy it at about half the Canadian price. Maybe people are still trying to feed their dogs that food and giving Linda a lot of expert status as a breeder recommending Canidae. Bad Move! Do some of your own research and find quality food if you want your Dog to live a great, long life. It's that important!
I've been wondering lately if the stupid tattoo in my Boxer's ear had anything to do with why he gets a lot of dark brown buildup in only that ear, and the other one perfectly clean all the time. And sure enough, I found a connection on GermanShepherd.com just minutes ago validating that. Yes, Linda puts a tattoo on her pups before they go home that you can't even read now. (USELESS!) I'm quite sure she doesn't research this. Or if she was concerned, she wouldn't allow it to happen. I've talked to other Boxer owners around my area who didn't get a Boxer with a tattoo on the ear and they haven't had any ear problems. That is the second of the two reasons I may search out another breeder for my next one who does not perform this barbaric practice. That is one of the biggest reasons I might not buy from her again. His excellent temperament is the main reason that makes me still consider buying another from her. (He's nice and quiet, unless I stop running with him in the park. He tells me in no uncertain terms to keep running with him.)

For an even more objective look, look at her website and I'll point out that her two testimonials are the only two she has used on her website for at least 3+ years now. And two testimonials sure isn't very much for 18 years. Speaking of her website, the crate training content has been lifted from another U.S. Boxer website, as there have been complaints registered to have those pages removed from Google due to copy theft/plagiarism. That speaks to unsavory ethics and morals.
All that said, we love my Boxer from Landos and feel very grateful that after a few years now he is still very healthy and fun loving. And yes, I did employ a professional trainer to train he and I. Now if I could just get him to clean his dried slobber off the couch himself. ;)

Hello, my name is Catherine and I purchased a puppy from Linda 4 months ago. I have always wanted a dog and my boxer is more than I could have ever asked for. He is perfectly health and hands down one of the best behaved dogs I have ever seen. I live by a dog park - and was nervous bringing him there the first time... I shouldn't have been! He is so submissive that if another dog growls at him his first response is to lie down on his back, hands in the air to show he comes in peace! My vet - dr. Saram, at college street animal hospital has even commented on how well behaved he is and is astonished at how polite he is. Even John, from Follow The Leader has met and loved him - commenting that he is the politest dog he has ever seen. He even wanted to film our dog to show proper puppy behavior. Once he found out he was from Landos he commented that he wasn't surprised as he's met many dogs from landos and they all have great dispositions and are lovely dogs. He does house calls for problem dogs (many of them boxers) but not one, ever, has been from landos! Anyone can email me anytime and ask any questions they may have Catherine.coleman@ryerson.ca I 100% stand by Linda and her dogs!

Dfuzesi... You would be fine in paying for your pup and never getting the ckc papers? Which are included in the price? I doubt it, I don't know anyone that's fine with paying for something and not receiving what they pay for. Without anger or defensiveness really think about it. It's just not right.

Lol seriously! So if your not being treated properly should you just put your tail between your legs, so to speak, shut up and go away? Don't u think waiting 7 years without complaining to anyone but Linda is being patient? I've never posted a negative comment about anyone before on the Internet, as a small business owner I know the damaging effects but what would you do? I didn't want to get her in trouble with ckc so I hadn't reported her. I just don't understand why she won't return my calls or emails. I just want what i paid for. Seriously what would u do? I feel like I have done everything I could not to create a problem.

What right do I have? It's called freedom of speech...you didn't/dont take "constructive criticism" too well do you? Until all resources have been exhausted, there is absolutely no reason to bash someone. I highly doubt people have taken issues to small claims court...don't you think that if there are/were a numerous amount of felonies/breaches pertaining to a reputable establishment such as the CKC, that her registration abilities would be revoked? Anyways, I don't have any more time to waste on explaining an opinion that you obviously needed to be clarified. Grow up and learn how to not take ones opinion personal...

UGH! I'm so tired of reading about everyones negative/bashing comments! Some people complain about dog aggression and blame the breeder, (http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/boxers.html) check out this site "what's good and bad about the breed) learn how to train your dog! Its interesting to see that I can comment on the relevance of CKC papers, contracts, being informed, deposits, living conditions etc and only 1 topic is being commented on. If you have a personal problem with Linda, take it up with her, not Internet wide. I'm sure others, as well as myself, can appreciate ones concern, but go about handling it like an adult. "luvmyboxers" after seven years...seriously...life is too short to hold a grudge. I don't know the story nor do I want to know, but it seems that there are only a hand full of people that have an issue with Linda, taking that into consideration, Linda has been doing this for over 18 years. Complaints are bound to arise, but only a hand full over that time frame, obviously she is doing something right. Misfortunate situations present themselves from time to time, but it's how you deal with them...as I've stated already, I can't wait to pick up my pup in a cpl of months, when it fits MY schedule.

Linda your alive! So happy to know your ok. I've been trying to get a hold of you for 7years now! For, you guessed it ckc papers. CKC PAPERS ARE RELEVANT IF YOUR TOLD YOUR BUYING A CKC REG DOG AND YOUR PAYING THE PRICE OF A CKC DOG! You were so pleasant when we met with you and on the phone conversations prior to our purchasing our puppy. Not sure what happened but you gave me a speech about how important it is to purchase a ckc reg dog. Because you know the breeder is held to a higher standard that will assure us puppy owners of getting a happy healthy dog. You also told me that about 200 of the puppy price goes to the ckc for registration and this is why your pups cost more then the average boxer out of the paper. I am lucky that my pup has been healthy and happy although extremely disappointed about being ignored for so long. Why not just be honest and explain your dogs are really not registered. I'm very happy that I have found a boxer breeder elsewhere for my next boxer and have already received my ckc papers in less than a month! Sorry you hold yourself to such a low standard.

CKC papers are a big deal whether you breed or not. You can not even show in obedience or any CKC sanctioned show with out them.Plus CKC states they must be given reistration papers if the dog was sold as reistered. CKC registration is NOT only for breeding.

CKC papers are only relivent if you plan on showing or breeding the dog, but since there is a no breeding contract, it isn't a big deal. For all of those whom have health issues, it specifically states that you have a 3 year guarantee. Get the appropriate information and give it to Linda so she can take action and support her guarantee. My boyfriend and I went up to her place a couple of weeks ago and put a deposit on an up coming litter. We have very specific requests and she is very accommodating. The place where the puppies stay is air conditioned, fresh shavings, and access to outside. Linda talked to us for 2 hours and answered every question to the best of her ability, what more could you ask of someone. If your dog has aggression issues, take a look at your living arrangements and habits. We will be back to get our puppy at the end of the summer. We can't wait!

Hi Linda, i know you said you felt so upset that clients felt you were unresponsive, but it is true. After years of trying to get ahold of you via email, phone calls messages even stopping by your house to try and get some Help and answers. After flat out refusing to provide CKC papers(even thought the CKC bylaws states you have 6 months to deliver). What do you expect people are going to do. They will voice their concerns over public forums, such as this. You must realize that you name " Landos Boxers" reputation is only as strong as what your "client post". I would bet that every potential client would be doing their research on breeder reputation, and the only source is the Internet...As for puppy mill i think you that's a little much. I may not agree with your breeding practice, however i do not know your systems, nor do I really care anymore. More over the problem I have been dealing with us your lack of support or abilities to provided CKC papers (reason being, I can't say. Perhaps my boxer is not able to be registered for what ever reason) at this point i have all but given up on your business practice. And if you would like to change my opinion of you and your business, then make good with you obligations and business contracts.
Sincerely,
One very disappointed CLIENT!

PS - it also goes to show how you are dealing with this criticism as you use another screen name "Boxer101" and call all you clients ###s... That is a bit offensive, .

I am not boxer 101. I was at their home and they showed me this on the website! I was so upset that clients felt I was unresponsive and would not honor my guarantee, so i responded immediately at her home that I did not realize that is would show up as her ID.!

To Yungster...If you honestly have a medical complaint send me the medical file as per the contract. If you cant be bothered sending the medical file there is nothing I can do about it!
