This smooth talking punk sent me a blanket email promoting his "new funding oportunity" on 18 Novemer 2010. He purports to be a highly educated business plan writer with an MBA ready and willing to bring you from plan to financing. This is how this SLEEZEBAG works. After gaining your trust while communicating for preperation of a business plan he talks of his powerfull connections to "very wealthy people" waiting in the wings to "help you out" . The only thing he wants to help you out of is your hard earned "deposit". He sends official looking documents that state if you send 10% of your needs, Needs must be over 300K, He will secure a business line of credit in as little as 30 days. My new wife and I wired him 30K on 16Dec2010. His "wealthy connection" is his running mate. This guys name is Joe Paglia, wifes name is Nicole Paglia they are the threesome of destruction. This Paglia clown assured me that the "line" would be in place in two weeks if I forwarded the money immidiatly. My optomism overruled the RED FLAG! After the two weeks passed we became concerned but didn't want to admit to ourselves these CROOKS are everywhere. After being told ENDLESS LIES by Kovacs, backed up by volumes of evidence, texts, emails phone conversations, we decided to go to California to confront this low life.
My wife and I knew that we would probably see a "show" that was scripted and preplanned. The worst part is this guy is SOOOOO low he has No morals at all and his wife Robbin (works as department head at Coronado Hospital) doesen't have a clue of what he is up to. He invited us to his home that he claimed to own (lie) talked of his various degrees, including law degree (lie). Told us he wanted to invest from his recent"payday" in our company (lie) and would forward the 30K that was stolen the day we returned to Boston, how convienent (LIE). I called him the day we returned and the first words out of his mouth was "SUE ME".
Of coarse he claims this entire ripoff is Paglia's fault (LIE). We have substantive law enforcement contacts, I asked for Paglias phone number, supposed Navy contacts (Paglia claims he is deeply involved with the Navy Seals in Coronado) and other pertinant information regarding this crook. Kovacs refuses to forward the info. He claims his dad is this world renown powerhouse law firm that will take "ANYONE" down with his fleet of 4000 lawyers.
In talking with a blend of Law Enforcement (state and Federal) they insure me this is a text book ripoff. Gain your trust thru legitamate transaction, whack you, claim it's the other guy and hope you go away. This punks days are numbered. Spread the word, honorable people don't deserve this in America. I am willing to send supporting evidence to anyone in the world.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Kovacs is doing the same "business plans" that are pretty basic and lack creativity. AND when he's not doing that, he's running some detox centers in L.A. and Santa Barbara, both in CA. Is apparently working with some lady named Karen Parmenter (marriage/family counselor not therapist). Checked court records and he had two lawsuits against him in San Diego County and also 2 criminal cases. The lawsuits he settled and had NO representation/lawyer. So I saw that in one of the reviews, he claims that his father has like 4000 lawyers, but then why wasn't he represented in those civil cases? Hmmm. Luckily never wired him money. I feel like you shouldn't give money to get money. Even if it is a business. I'd been scammed before by someone totally different but that was a LOOOONG time ago and I learned my lesson. In that case, they had me wire money thru western union. Hope that wasn't the case with all these complaints!
Hate to say but I'm in the same boat. Decided to get the line of credit along with a business partner and each wired 10k to John to make this same deal happen. Same story. Should have had line of credit in 2 weeks. Got a letter from John with his letterhead stating as of February 27, 2011 they are no longer pursuing lines of credits. He included a personal check and mailed one each to my partner and I. Of course they both bounced and his explanations ran the gamut of lies. My partner spoke to John yesterday and said we would both have our money within 48 hours. We will sue this guy and luckily we are both in San Diego to do this. He tried to bring up the shady dealings of Joe (aka Joey) Paglia and said it was Joe's fault. Either way the contract I have is with John Kovacs Consultants. BTW, we got into this because John is a mutual client of a business I deal with. The owner of that business has a good relationship with John and assured us this was all on the up and up. I will wait the 48 hours and update this site as to the outcome.

Sorry to hear about your story. I gave John Kovac $1000 to write a business plan and he informed me of the same thing. A line of wealthy waiting to fund there deals. He told me the who story that they where networked into money and that we would have a credit line in place within 30 days. "Count on me" In the end if was all lies. These guys are scammers to say the least. I talk to another victim that was taken for 25K on the same type of scam from these guys. The bottom line here is one of two things happens to these type of people, they go to jail or they swim with the fishes! In this case, I hope they swim, but jail is an good alternativeness.
