J.E.H. Windows & Doors

After gettin a couple quotes from different companies, I chose to go with Bevis at JEH because of his confidence in his product while he was givin a quote. We got exactly what we wanted at a good price and we are in love with our new windows. They got 8 windows installed in one day and followed up afterwards to make sure everything looked good. Very happy with our choice!

We used J.E.H. Windows & Doors Ltd. based on a friend's recommendation, but it turned out to be a difficult experience. Here's what happened: In late July, a sales rep came to measure our windows and said they would look like our neighbors' windows, including finishing trims. On August 7, we received a quote from the company, and it was quite high. On August 10, we received a lower quote from another company, but because we had heard good things about J.E.H. Windows & Doors Ltd., we asked them to match the quote. The quote clearly stated that the windows would have interior and exterior finishing and would be installed within 4-5 weeks. We also sent them a picture of the window we wanted, which included a grill.

On August 13, we made a deposit and quickly signed the work order, assuming everything was included. However, four weeks later, there was still no installation. After several days, I called the sales rep, who informed me that there were supply issues. Another week passed, and this time, they said the glass was the problem. They claimed there was a shortage due to the pandemic. I was surprised because I assumed they had checked their supplies before matching the other supplier's quote.

Finally, on October 5, they came for the installation. I noticed something strange about the windows, but I was distracted by the damages on the wall caused by removing the old windows. It was only later that I realized the windows had no grill. I expressed my disappointment and felt that the installation was not done professionally. They told me I would have to repaint to fix the damage and asked for a discount. I never expected to be responsible for the repainting work. Additionally, the window stool in the kitchen was incorrect. I called the sales rep to address the issue.

On October 7, the sales rep came to inspect the work. He brought the correct stool, but it was welded. I asked for a 5% discount to compensate for the issues. He told me to consider it. On October 10, a worker installed the stool and then asked me to pay the remaining balance of $3,100 or take a $100 discount. I told him I had asked for at least a 5% discount from the total contract price and wanted to speak with the sales rep instead.

On October 13, I called the sales rep, and he told me to just pay $3,000. The discount was less than 5%. On October 14, I told him I was willing to pay $3,000 as long as the outside finishing was done, as originally agreed. Instead, he insisted that everything was complete and demanded $3,200. He threatened to take me to court if I didn't pay. On October 22, I received a letter from a lawyer demanding payment, referencing an invoice dated September 30, which I never received. The letter claimed that I had refused to pay despite numerous demands. However, at the invoice date, the installation had only just begun on October 5.

Overall, our experience with J.E.H. Windows & Doors Ltd. was disappointing. We expected better communication, professionalism, and adherence to the agreed-upon terms.

Great company! Great price! I ordered 7 windows and 2 exterior doors and 2 storm doors and I got exactly what I ordered. They all look beautiful! They arrived a little longer than the quoted time but not long after. The installers were very professional and left my home and yard very clean. From start to finish, the salesman, office staff, and installers were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this company! Well done!

My buddy told us to hit up Joe for a good deal and some top-notch windows. Joe himself came by to give us a quote, and he was real down-to-earth and laid-back. It was a breath of fresh air. He made us feel confident and gave us a solid price for the three bedroom windows we ended up getting. The dude who came to install them did a great job too. Overall, we're super happy and satisfied.
