facing an approximate loss of 750.00. I have a disability i.e, a brain injury that affects my short term memory and ability to fill out simple forms. Every year, my tax representative fills out a hownowners property tax credit application for my mom as the form must be based on your income tax filing. I was told that they are not allowed to print these forms out. My agent told me to stop up and she would have it prepared for me. I was also told by at least 3 people connected to my local office that they are only open on Fridays from 11am until 7pm. I went to my local office and I explained what I was there to pick up. The women in the office became very argumentative with me and said we don’t fill those forms out. She would not budge, was very mean and said she would call my representative. She basically accused me of being a liar and was unfriendly to say the least. She did call my representative and she told the woman that she had indeed promised to fill out the form and had forgotten. The lady who I was talking to told me to come back next Friday. I went to the office and it was closed, no sign that would indicate a reason for it not to be open or a number to call. The deadline for my form to be submitted is September 1st. Because of the 2 week delay, my submission is in danger of being submitted late, depriving my mom of her tax credit. This tax credit is extremely important to us. I went to the office today and it was closed at 4pm. I contacted a help number and a gentleman booked an appointment for me on Saturday even though their website said Friday only. I appreciated his effort and will try to visit them tomorrow. I talked to an employee next to the Jackson Hewitt office and told him what was happening. He said, verbatim, that he never sees them open on Friday. He told me that they may come in to open for a few hours and they close. He laughed and said whoever told you that they’re open on Friday is laughable. In his opinion, he says they might open but do not stay. I am incredibly upset and disappointed, especially being called an outright liar. I don’t think I’ll be continuing using their services anymore. It’s expensive enough as it is. Over 300$ to do just my taxes. It’s a short form and I have no complications or deductions except for my charitable contributions that I as told wasn’t worth it to file a form that itemizes my charitable contributions that are given to legitimate registered, non profit organizations. I would never recommend this service to anyone else ever. I promise you, someone is claiming they work on Fridays and they are defrauding the company and customers like myself. If my forms don’t make it under the deadline, I promise this will end up at small claims and I will recoup my rebate for my mom one way or the other and make it my mission to inform others regarding the service I received. I have tried to upload the photos of the empty store. I’m sure the date and location data are included in the photos but conveniently it says upload error. I still have them and will send them to you if requested but it won’t let me upload them from this site.
Claimed loss: Potentially, 750$
Desired outcome: I want my form filed before the deadline.
