I gotta say, I had the same experience with Brittain as Bethany W. They took over my apartment a few months before I moved out and didn't do the pre-move out inspection I asked for. Then they took a chunk outta my security deposit for small paint touch-ups, even for stuff that was there when I moved in. I've been trying to work it out with Codey, but he's not helpful at all. He never answers his phone and takes forever to respond to emails. Brittain lost all my maintenance requests from the old management company, so I can't prove anything. Bethany W was right, these guys are not pros and you should stay away!

brittain commercial is a scam. they kept my deposit and tried to charge me for stuff that was already messed up. they also wanted to charge for cleaning even though we showed them pics of how we left it. don't trust them!

I moved outta a flat provided by Brittain Commercial (***) on September 19th. After movin' out I got a notice that Brittain Commercial had taken my whole security deposit and had big charges of $3,445.07 for damages and "excessive wear and tear". When I asked 'em to describe more 'bout the carpets and where the wear and tear policy was in the lease I signed, they didn't say nothin'. I decided to pay for the charges and dropped off a check for the full amount on October 20th in person to Brittain Commercial (within the 14 day timeframe of receiving the notice on October 13th). Brittain Commercial cashed the check on October 22nd. Brittain Commercial went ahead and sent the charges to collections *** Services). I got a notice in the mail on Saturday November 13th givin' me 30 days to pay or dispute the charges prior to a negative credit report bein' filed. I have disputed the charges with both parties although have not heard back from either. I would like assistance from the ComplaintsBoard.com in correcting this and also an apology from Brittain Commercial for unneeded stress and poor customer service.

I lived at J. A. Brittain, Limited for almost 3 years. I gave a 30-day notice before leaving, but they charged me $1,180 for not giving notice. I even took a picture of the notice, but they still charged me. They also charged me $1,975.51 for carpet and painting, even though the carpets weren't new when I moved in. I tried emailing and calling, but they didn't respond. Now, they added me to collections and my credit score dropped. I want my $1,180 charge removed and my deposit back in full. They were negligent and didn't communicate with me. Remove collections too.
