Intact Insurance review: Golf Canada policy is of little value

I had a set of golf clubs stolen from the club storage at our golf course in the 1000 Islands. Golf Canda has a blanket policy for all members covering loss of equipment, through Intact.

Although the total loss was under $1000, in order to avoid paying the claim, Intact insisted on receipts for the original purchase of each of the clubs (some more than 10 years old) as well as a police report verifying the theft. Think about convincing the OPP to rent a boat, travel to a water only accessible island in the middle of the 1000 Islands to investigate a crime involving the theft of a used set of golf clubs!

Recommendation: Golf Canada should reconsider using Intact for this policy. And everyone I know will be warned to avoid using Intact
