Oriental Trading Company Added and Charged me for Membership to Easy Saver without my knowledge or permission.

In October 2008 I placed an order on the Oriental Trading Website. From Nov. 2008-March 2009 a charge appeared on my bank statement for 14.95 with a description of easy saver. After many hours of investigation I discovered this easy saver company had gotten my bank information through Oriental Trading claiming that I had agreed through a pop-up to join easy saver. I have a pop-up blocker and would never have knowingly agreed to join. I have since canceled my "membership" with easy saver but am out the 74.75 they took from my bank account without my permission. I mistakenly thought Oriental Trading was a reputable company that had been around for years so it was safe to give my debit card info. I never ever thought they would give my info to a company that is so obviously a scam. I have never received an email, letter or any other piece of information from easy saver or oriental trading letting me know that they were going to be taking money monthly from my bank account. I have since notified Oriental Trading that I will no longer be doing any business with them on-line or otherwise and would recommend to anyone else to do the same. You can never be sure who will be given your bank account or credit card information from them.

Oriental Trading Company Unauthorized Charges

Today when I received my credit card bill, I found out I've been charged by Easy saver for $14.95 starting on December last year. Then I searched in the website, and found out Oriental Trading is associated with Easy Saver. I assumed I unintentionally signed up for Easy Saver's "services" when I bought Christmas toys from orientaltrading.com.

I called the credit card co. and told them I don't recognized those charges. The next day I called Oriental Trading [protected]) and told them I want my money back. Immediately they promised to give me full credit back to my card and gave me a confirmation number.

So be careful next time you made purchase from Oriental Trading!

The same thing happened to me. My fiance ordered stuff for the wedding back in April and "accidentally" got signed up for it. Noticed these little charges since May, but figured she was just ordering little things for the wedding. We got married in July, and saw a $14.95 charge this month. Called, and they said they would refund ALL the charges. If they do, I'll be ordering from them again in the future. Just be careful to read the fine print everyone.

I ordered items from Oriental Trading and was offered $10 off in a follow-up email. Unbeknownst to me, my zip code, email, and debit card number was used to sign me up for Easy Saver's "services", and for 4 months, I was charged $14.95 a month for a service I never asked for nor ever used.

I managed to get some of my money back (thanks to an angry parent with good communication skills), but we shall see if they take me off their list.

We placed an order with Oriental Trading com. on 11-15-2010 and was offered a free electric cig. for the low cost of $4.95 for shipping and handleing...The $4.95 was billed to our credit card on 11-15-2010..Now in Febuary of 2011 our card was billed for $49.95 ! When I called this company...they asked me if I know a person named Roxi ? I replyed no..then they go into the whole thing of how I had 30 days to return the product...they say they can not put the money back onto my card but...they can give me a $100.00 gift card to spend on thier websight...lmao ! i'm calling this company every 15 minutes untill i get my money back...every 15 minutes of everyday !

I ordered Halloween Candy from Oriental Trading, after a girl from work had told me about the great prices and how she got all of her stuff with them. She even had a magazine for them, so I thought everything would be okay to order from them. I went to there website and ordered. About a month goes by and I am getting this Easy Saver taking money out of my account of $14.95. I have never ever have given any account info to these people, except for Oriental Trading. When I contacted Easy Saver for my money back the first lady acted like she couldn't hear me. Then I called again and got a guy and told him my situation. Then he said my phone was cutting out and he couldn't hear me. OH I KNOW THEY COULD HEAR ME. Finally as I started getting yelling my Name in the phone, he could FINALLY hear me. He said, "Did you order from Oriental Trading." I said yes, but what does that have anything to do with Easy Saver. He said, "When Oriental Trading Company offered you 10 percent off, they asked for your e-mail address and when you did that, you signed up for Easy Saver which is 14.95 a month." OMG...I was pissed. The guy finally gave me my money back and the charge. Oriental Trading has NO RIGHT to give all my information, including my debit card number to this company Easy Saver.

We were also hit by this scam from http://www.orientaltrading.com and they claimed that we were warned upon checkout that we were "joining the Easy Saver program" by buying from them. I told them it was totally under the consumer's radar (which is the point) and they should stick to the business of selling party supplies. Amex says they can only refund the last two months and I have to fight with Easy Saver for the rest. I am putting pressure on Oriental Trading since their association with this scam is tarnishing their image online. If you Google the phrase "oriental trading scam" you will receive 4, 560 results. If you Google the same phrase without quotes, you will receive over 1 million results. They could argue that those three words could not necessarily refer to orientaltrading.com and I would argue that while true, many certainly do because most of those results mention the "Easy Saver Rewards" false charge. Needless to say, we are done with OrientalTrading.com

We were paying for this "service" for two years, $14. 95 a month. I saw it on the bank statement, but figured my husband had signed up for it. Discover Card called us earlier this morning asking if we had approved this reoccurring charge. We were appalled to find out that neither of us had approved this charge nor received their so called "confirmation email". We immediately called Easy Saver and told them our predicament. They first offered us 6 months of the charge to be refunded, but we asked if their was any way to refund everything without calling our lawyer (politely). They returned everything and were very helpful. A word of advice- when you call be sure to start politely and only use slight force when NEEDED, this company seems to get these calls often and will accommodate you in order to stay out of legal trouble.

Close bank account quickly, the only way possible! They'll tell you to read the terms&conditions at the bottom of the page, which is longer than the Bible, and you'll come up with the same ### they give you on the phone. CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT NOW!

THIS WILL HELP YOU ALL WITH THIS READ ON:
My card was charged 10 TIMES! My own fault for not noticing sooner. The first rep was only authorized to refund 2 of the 10 charges. I asked for his supervisor, he sent me to the Consumer Affairs department. They were only authorized to refund 1 more. I sternly, not rudely, just sternly asked for his supervisor. She, TANYA, was able to give me the full $150 back. Insane that I didn't notice, but I am so glad Tanya could help. She was very nice. She did tell me that if you ask for the "escalation department" on the first call you may cut your call time down and shoot to the top. UGHHH! No more shopping on Oriental trading for me.

the same thing happened to me. I am so pissed off! apparently they also do that with proflowers.com so i know not to order from them. i have to wait till monday so i can have someone help me out and to get my money back. this is bull of oriental trading to be doing that to their customers.

My card was charged SIX times before I relized what was going on!They did say they would refund all the money they took (which i could only recall 2) so we will see.Im still in the waiting process.I contacted oriental trading, I think its wrong they should not be affliated with such a scam company.

Oriental Trading Company Unauthorized charges on credit card

Total scam bought something from http://www.orientaltrading.com and the got billed $14.00 a month beware of this site!

The number on my credit card bill for the unauthorized charge is [protected], if you google the number you see how many other people were scamed.

Oriental Trading Company Unauthorized Subscription

I placed an order for beads supplies through Oriental Trading, I was then charged $1.00 for joining Easy Saver. I don't recall clicking yes to a subscription, then I was charged $14.95 for the next month. I immediately emailed them, when I saw the charge, to cancel this subscription and refund my charge. Time will tell, if not I will contact my bank to pursue the clearing of this charge.

I actually contacted (via email) Easy Saver on the day after this posted and today I received the reply below: I can't believe it. I must've caught the scam in time. Unfortunately, I've already cancelled and been reissued a new card.

When placing an order through Oriental Trading for our Company, I was told that since I had ordered over $200 I qualified for one of the following: Free Gift" $15./Off, or Free Shipping (reference code WCE 1861). I chose the Free Shipping.

Unfortunately, we have been billed on a monthly basis for sometime now an amount of $14.95 and just caught this charge when reviewing Credit Card statements. This is absolutely a scam.

I was scammed by Oriental Trading as well and only just realized that I had been charged the $14.95 a month for almost 3 years! When I was scammed I clicked to save $10.00 on my next order thinking it was a plan for loyal customers. I NEVER AGREED to a memebership. I was charged $14.95 for absolutlely NOTHING! I never received any discounts, or coupons, or ANYTHING! Only after I reviewed my Debit card statement with my husband, did he ask what that charge has been for...and I realized that something was fishy. Be careful, and learn from my mistake. Oriental Trading has lost my business FOREVER. When I called the number for EASY SAVER/online membership services [protected] I talked to several people before they would escalate my complaint to a Customer affairs person. Everyone I spoke to had an Indian accent. They said they were from PA, which I doubt. Get names, don't give up and contact consumer protection and the BBBB on this matter.

I ended up with 9 x $14.95 charges before I noticed, they agreed to cancel and refund 2 charges and after escalating they agreed to credit 3 more (total of 5). They still stole $60 from me and my wife has probably ordered over $1000 with oriental trading over the last year - they just lost future business, I hope they lose a lot more business than what they make by supporting this scam.

I purchased a few thing form Oriental trading in April and after checkout a popup came up offering $15 off my next order. I entered my email and zip and was told it would charge me and enter me into a program to save I instantly xed out and never entered any additional information.
I was charged $14.95 for 9 months before I noticed... I called the 800 number listed on my bank charge [protected] and was told they could refund 2 of the charges and I thought great! then ended up calling back the same day and talking to someone else who told me they could refund a total of 5. then they refunded the next 3 . I then asked how to get them all removed and after holding for 10 mins and ### a lot I recieved a full refund. I did threaten to call the better bussiness burea as well.
The woman said that by entering my email I had given permission via a e-signature... makes no sence to me

Easy Savers? First you ask me to save $15.00 and get me to say yes! Then you charge me $14.95 for the fallowing months. I called and complained! They reimbursed me for 4 months. I am really disappointed in myself for ever using Oriental Trading! I guess this is one more persons business they won’t be getting!

what the heck... im so upset.. i just finished ordering and then put my zip code. becasue who the heck doesnt want $15 off their next order... then it told me im a member.. i was like hold up a minute... does anyone have a number to contact them... im looking for it as i type... never again.

I too placed an on-line order with Oriental Trading and never again. I placed my order and was then asked if I wanted to save $15.00 on my next order, I clicked yes, was then asked for my zip code and was then congratulated on becoming a member of Easy Saver! $1.95 for the first month, then $14.95 per month there after. I researched Easy Saver immediately and realized I had just been scammed! I contacted my credit card company and then Oriental Trading and hopefully I will not be charged! I do not blame Easy Saver, I blame Oriental Trading for "tricking" a loyal customer for 15 plus years for scamming! I will NEVER order from them again. I am a teacher and I have notified my school of this and they too will not use Oriental Trading again! I hope the news phone calls to my credit card company to try and straighten thing out!

Oriental Trading Company unauthorized charges

I was charged 1.95 by a company that advertizes with Oriental Trading Company...Easy Saver. Easy Saver has a history of unauthorized charges scammed from the Oriental Trading Company website. Apparently Oriental Trading Co. knows about this because when you call them to complain they refer you to Easy Saver who insist that you signed up for their "service" and that they will take it off your credit card. I do not trust these people at all and cancelled our credit card rather than deal with continued unauthorized charges. Watch out! They have a tough time giving you their address which is actually EMI Encore Marketing International, 4501 Forbes Blvd., Lanham MD 20706. REPORT THEM TO THE BBB!

I noticed a recurring charge on my bank account for $15.94 per month from January to September of this year. I purchased a ‘religious’ gift online for my grandson Dec 2022. There must have been some fine print in the order and I was automatically enrolled in the rewards program. I only realized this because I recevied a check in June for $2.04 from FUN REWARDS. Not knowing what it was for, I didn’t cash it but it kept gnawing at me. In Sept, I saw the recurring charges and saw that I was charged 9 times. I called the company to ask for reimbursement. They told me then it was for my FUN REWARDS subscription and would I like to cancel. That told me that they are aware of their scam. They would only reimburse me for 6 of the 9 charges, stating that their accounting dept would not permit them to go any further. BUYER BEWARE! Read everything. I’ve been ordering from OTC for years. I never thought they would stoop so low. But they did, and now I am wiser for it.

I placed an OTC order for children's craft supplies for my church in November 2009. In January I discovered three months worth of charges to the credit card from EZ Saver. $1.95, $1.95, $14.95. They told me I agreed to registration with them when I placed my OTC order and I was charged for membership and a welcome packet. I agreed to no such thing and never recieved and such items. OTC was very arrogant telling me I didn't realize or didn't remember doing so. When I refused their worthless coupon "jennifer" threw huge attitude and impatience at me asking what I wanted her to do. When I told her to find someone who could help me appropriately she threw me into the automated system and they just kept bouncing me around because it seems no one can do a thing. I still don't have reimbusement from EZ Saver. DO NOT order online with OTC.

I called my bank and disputed this charge, in which they cancelled my card and will reissue me a new one. What a hassle, but it will stop these charges from being assessed on the account in the future. WHAT A SCAM! Thank you everyone else for posting. Without your posting, we all would feel alone and foolish.

I suggest everyone go to Easy Saver's site and find out other companies they associate with and warn them too.

Oriental Trading Company added EZ Saver without permission

Upon checkout with Oriental Trading they ask if you would like to get $15 off your next order...DONT CLICK IT...then without permission EZ saver (Encore Marketing in Maryland) charged my account $1.95 (even before my Oriental Trading charge went through!) I called Oriental Trading to make them aware of this and they wanted to transfer me to talk to someone from EZ Saver...No Thank You. Obviously these companies get some kind of kick back from Encore Marketing. SHAME ON YOU ORIENTAL TRADING!
BBB in Maryland to complain about Encore Marketing and BBB in Nebraska to complain about Oriental Trading.

Anyone in this situation should call Freed & Weiss to join a building class action against the company behind this scam. (It's pretty easy, just call them and tell them your story).

Here is the information Trilegiant is the company behind this abuse from EZSaver. They use bogus marketing tactics to get people to unknowingly sign up for memberships and then people are charged every month, again and again.

Call Freed & Weiss! Toll free: 866.799.9610. They need to hear from you so that they can move the class action forward and put a stop to this terrible customer abuse.

How desperate can a big corporation be? They offer a discount at check out. If you accept the discount you automatically get enrolled in an EZ Saver program for $14.95 per month. What a scam. This is not the type of company I would want to do business with again.

Oriental Trading Company added easy saver without my permission

Easy Saver has charged my credit card without my permission. They said that I chose to do so when I was on the Oriental Trading website. I had been ordering crafts for my classroom and didn't know that I was buying more than just my crafts. I didn't know this charge was there until I got my credit card statement one month later.

I am receiving a monthly fee charged from Oriental Trading (OTC) to my debit card for the past several months of $14.95. This is an unauthorized charge. It occurs around the 20th of every month. P)lese discontinue this charge.

Compant presents item as Religious Magnet Craft Kit. Fridge Magnet states " Who needs luck I have Jesus" Company did willfully and deliberatly send the kit without the Jesus thus making it incomplete. Spoke to two people in the company. They had no way to replace item or send replacement parts. This is very insensitive of this company. Buyer beware

I would never recommend the Oriental Trading Company to anyone looking to by products. Save yourself the time, anger and money and look else where. Every time I have shopped this company the have garenteed me a delivery date and then they ship out a week late. I have never gotten a product on time and have had to go else where to purchase and then still have to eat the charges because they won't fix it. Not a relaible company and they have poor customer serves.

The same thing happened to me after ordering party supplies for my son's birthday. I called and had them refund the charges and cancel the account. I'm going to call Oriental Trading and tell them for this reason I will not be shopping from their site again!
