Before booking a room online today (16Apr2026) at the Holiday Inn in Parsons KS, I first needed to ask about the accessible room features - i.e., handlebars beside the toilets - a requirement for my amputee husband. The website provided only the Reservation Desk number. I thought I could call and get the direct hotel number. I called and asked the agent if he knew about the grab bars. He researched, answered yes, and offered to book me the room. I agreed. He told me the full price and said the additional charges were mostly taxes. After the call I saw my credit card was charged for the room, but there was an additional charge of $17.99 to HotelBooking. This would not even have happened if I was easily find the direct hotel number - I use Expedia for travel booking. This charge is bogus and is masked as being helpful when no other help is available. The Holiday Inn brand is better than this.
Claimed loss: $17.99
Desired outcome: Full Refund of $17.99
