I purchased a Hilton Grand Vacations promotional vacation package for $221 with a stay beginning in two days. Before purchasing, I specifically asked multiple questions to ensure I understood all of the costs and accommodations. I was told that the promotion was paid in full and that I only needed to provide a credit or debit card for incidental charges. At no time was I informed that Hilton would place a $300 temporary authorization hold on my card ($100 per night), nor was I informed that I would be charged $50 for parking during my stay or that complimentary breakfast was not included as I had been led to believe.
I also contacted Hilton in advance regarding my daughter, who has documented sensory processing issues and requires reasonable accommodations. I called specifically to make sure her needs could be accommodated before traveling. I was then informed that there were no notes regarding her disability, no accommodations had been arranged, and nothing had been documented despite my earlier conversations.
I made this purchase based on the information that was provided to me. Had I been told about the additional financial requirements, lack of accommodations, and other unexpected charges before purchasing, I would have made a different decision.
I have now spent days trying to resolve these issues through multiple phone calls, receiving conflicting information from different representatives. With my vacation only two days away, I still do not know whether my family, including my daughter with a disability, will have appropriate accommodations.
I believe Hilton failed to adequately disclose important terms before the sale and failed to properly document my request for disability accommodations. This has caused significant stress, uncertainty, and financial hardship immediately before our scheduled trip.
Claimed loss: $221 promotional package purchase, potential $300 authorization hold, $50 parking fees, time spent attempting to resolve the matter, and risk of losing the vacation due to undisclosed costs and lack of disability accommodations.
Desired outcome: Honor the representations made. Provide reasonable accommodations for my daughter's disability. Waive the unexpected $300 authorization hold and parking fees.
