The main problem with Hilton Vacation Club is that people do not want to buy a deeded timeshare, and to be stuck with it like glue. Timeshares are the worst Cost to Value big ticket item you can buy (even worse than a new car). HGV timeshares go for $500 bucks on the secondary market with people just wanting to dump them. What we want is a Hilton Honors or Marriot Bonvoy points system on steroids, where we can achieve points different ways but be able to leave whenever you would want. HVC advertises and heavily promotes a points system, but you have to buy a timeshare (deeded with the county of your home HVC property) and an average buy of a timeshare is $25,000 or more to get a good week. Additionally, it is mostly blue-collar folks that try with their $299 deals for a few nights and if end up buying, where do we all want to go...Florida west coast in the late winter or early spring. All those weeks get grabbed up early and people end up 6 months prior at midnight clicking furiously to try and get a few available spots. AVOID HVC like the plague!
Recommendation: Stay away from HVC
