When I moved out, they charged me a whopping $2500 to replace the carpet with hardwood flooring. Can you believe it? They couldn't even tell me how old the carpet was or how much longer it would have lasted, so we couldn't negotiate a fair price based on wear and tear. And to make matters worse, they just sent us a bill without any explanation, and neither the billing company nor the apartment complex bothered to return our calls when we tried to understand the charges. It's frustrating, you know? They're upgrading all the apartments and getting rid of the carpet anyway, so why should I have to foot the entire bill for the flooring when it's part of their remodeling plan? It just doesn't make sense to me.

I'm so fed up with the office at Hearthstone. Every time I need to do something, like renew my contract or show my insurance proof, it's such a hassle. And with this whole COVID-19 situation, it's even worse. They won't let you in without an appointment, which I get. But I've been calling them multiple times a day for three days straight and no one picks up. And if they do respond to your email, it takes them forever. But they expect you to do things right away or face consequences. I don't recommend living here, it's just not worth the trouble.

This weekend, something happened at our apartment that put my family in danger. So, we thought it would be best to stay at a relative's place in another state for now. But, we've been trying to get in touch with the apartment's front office for the past few days, and let me tell you, it's been a real struggle. We've made like 20 phone calls, sent 2 emails, and left 2 voice mails, but we haven't heard a peep from them. It's been 4 whole days of silence. We really need to move out because we don't feel safe here, but it's gonna be impossible if they don't respond. It's like they don't give a hoot about us residents, which makes this place super unsafe.

I lived at Hearthstone at City Center from April until earlier in January . Before I moved out, I paid all the charges and cleaned the unit really well. When I handed over my keys, the apartment was in good shape, with just a few small scratches and stains that come with regular use. But today (1/7), the landlord sent me a bill saying I owe them $2509.53 for charges, cleaning, painting, and damages that they didn't specify. They also said they're keeping my security deposit to cover some of these costs, and I have to pay the remaining $2109.53. It's really insulting considering I was a good tenant and made sure to leave the unit in the best condition possible.

I moved in on 6/18 and on 6/19 I reported my bathroom sink hot water constantly runs. They said they would have someone come out and take care of it. On 6/24 I received an email of my maintenance issue being resolved, nothing had been fixed. On 6/28 I filed another maintenance request for the same issue. On 6/30 I paid what the website said I owed in rent which was $1087.47. I paid by card which charged a processing fee which put me at a total of $1114.86. On 7/1 I received an email my service request had been resolved. 7/1 was my day off and I was home all day, no one ever came by to fix anything so the service issue still had not been resolved. I replied to that email letting them know no one had been by and nothing had been fixed. 7/2 they resubmitted the service request. 7/15 I got a statement showing I owed $2889.95 for rent. I went in the office that day and was told it would be fixed by 7/19. 7/22 sent an email got a response on 7/23 this would get resolved. Nothing been fixed.
