Please do extra due diligence on this company before dealing with them. Do not be mistaken that you are dealing with a MUFTI and that you can not be defrauded. Several individuals and companies have been defrauded over the past few years. Most are embarrassed to highlight this publicly or there have been ‘hush money agreements signed’. I feel it my duty to inform others so that we can put a stop to this.

Historically, GIFS was a reputable firm when it was being run by the Late Mufti Ebrahim Desai however, when his son, Mufti ISMAIL DESAI, took over a few years ago, the credibility of the firm has deteriorated and there are several accusations of fraudulent and criminal behavior.

GIFS is a one man firm and uses different websites and email addresses all coming to one device. This is a collective scheme to make it appear as if Mufti Ismail Desai is the head of a large web of organizations.

I feel it is my muslim duty to inform other brothers and sisters that Mufti Ismail Desai is currently under investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies in various global jurisdictions. It would be wrong of me to share sensitive information about the investigation at this point however, there is some historic information which was publicly available and was put together and circulated in South Africa. I want to share this immediately :

URGENT WARNING ABOUT THE DANGEROUS AND CHARLATTAN ‘MUFTI’ ISMAIL DESAI WHO PURPORTS TO BE THE FLAG-BEARER OF THE LEGACY OF HIS FATHER, MUFTI EBRAHIM DESAI (R.A)

Firstly, May Allah Sub. grant Hazrat Mufti Ebrahim Desai (R.A)the highest stages in Jannah and preserve his soul in the most elevated status
The allegations below relate only to his eldest son, ‘Mufti’ Ismail Desai ‘’and his unislamic and inhumane behavior.
Mufti Ismail Desai has tried to appropriate to himself the mantle of his father’s successor despite his father not wanting this because he knew that Mufti Ismail Desai was engaged in wrongful and un-Islamic conduct particularly with respect to financial dealings. This includes the following -
1) Misappropriating Zakat Funds at Darul Iftaa Mahmudiyyah.
2) Issuing Fatawa which were incorrect rulings, that bent Shariah for his personal the financial gain.
3) Sham online teaching programmes. He conducts classes for a few sessions and then disappears with the students monies.
4) Copying and pasting other scholars work to make it look his own.
5) Appropriating the askimam.org name in an attempt to pass off and mislead people. He has done the same by using askimamdesai.com and muftiebrahimdesai.com
6) Checking into a Menta Health faculty for several months when he was being chased for several million dollars that he took as Investment Capital and never invested.

‘Mufti’ Ismail has created a deceiving picture of himself as a Businessman, “Mufti” and Financial Advisor when in reality, he has come to be seen as a conman and schemer hiding behind his Islamic qualifications. Many have come to realize that he regularly lies to people about his financial wealth. He is known to claim that he is a multi millionaire, which he uses as a honey trap to lure potential investors. Many of these investors have lost money investing with “Mufti” Ismail who shrugs it off as their “projects did not work out” and the paperwork clearly states that there is a ‘risk of capital loss’ and ‘past performance is no indicator of future performance’

One witness has described Mufti Ismail Desai as ‘’delusional, a conman and a deceiver of note. His behavior and dealings represent the anthesis of what his father represented. Mufti Ismail Desai’s behavior is repugnant and inconsistent with what his father preached his entire life.
