Freedom Mortgage Customer Service for mortgage payments

Terrible Inadequate Service.

I am trying to do a mortgage recast to reduce my monthly payment.

Twice I was told the info would be emailed to me - it didn't arrive in 3-5 days. Called for the 3rd time, again no information how to wire the funds into FM and I was hung up on. She didn't call me back. There's no info online how to wire funds into FM from an outside bank. 3 people had no info either. Is this company legit?

There has been no qualified mortgage professional to speak with. No one knows how to do a RECAST and where to wire the funds - Routing #, SWIFT or IBAN and addresses aren't online. Worst service from a bank ever, and I didn't even ask to be a customer here - my loan was sold without my knowledge until after the fact.

Desired outcome: A qualified professional calls me asap with RECAST information.

Freedom Mortgage Customer service-mortgage loan/refinance issues and complaint

Our home was purchased with a VA loan in 2017

Our loan was then sold to freedom mortgage.

When the rates dropped, We refinanced our loan in 2019 and we applied for financial Covid hardship payment deference in March of 2020

We did not make payments during covid because we received notification that we were "approved" for COVID assistance in 2020

We began making payments again as soon as we could but our account was showing that we were in default because our paperwork was NEVER updated due to a notary error and our account has been in loss mitigation for 2 years

Since 2021 we have been making our monthly payments over the phone because we cannot access our payments online because our loan is still showing we are in loss mitigation.

When we filed out the refinance documents I requested that our monthly payments are automatically withdrawn from our account but this was never set up either

When I make these payments by phone I mention that we still have not received a resolution on our account and that our account is still not up to date or set up for the monthly auto withdrawal.

NO ONE from freedom mortgage EVER contacted us about the notary error for over 2 years and we had to resubmit the paperwork twice to try to correct the error ourselves

There was also a second notary error on the next set of papers that we were also NEVER informed of as well

In December of 2022, loan documents were left on our porch and were wet and damaged when we arrived home because it was snowing and we were out of town over the Christmas holiday (they gave us a 5-day window to sign and return but we were not notified that the paperwork had been sent or that we needed to sign and return.)

When I contacted freedom mortgage to request a new set of loan documents we were told that we were still in default and would have to resubmit our claim and start the loan process from the beginning all over again.

I called JM notary to have them bring the documents to us to sign again but they said that they did not have a copy of the documents and that I would have to request them from freedom mortgage again

So I AGAIN requested a NEW set of loan documents to be sent to the JM notary and after over 2 weeks they finally sent someone out to sign with us over a month ago and we have still not heard back.

I recently made a monthly payment of $1300 in January 2023 and February 2023

To this date, this issue has still not been resolved and it shows that we are still in default, we still receive monthly letters and phone calls stating that we are in breach of contract and owe over 20,000

On 3/6/223 We received another letter stating that we are delinquent and in breach of contract and that our past due balance is 20,585.80 even though I call monthly to make payments of up to $1300

The letter states that we have been in default since November 2021

there is no deferred balance

our monthly payment is $1272.60

that even after making monthly payments of $1300 since early 2021-there is there is ONLY $330.42 in a suspense account

that our escrow balance is -3355.68

and our past-due balance is 20,585.80

Freedom mortgage online shows that payments have been "received" but are in a "suspense" account and we have the bank statements to prove that we have been making monthly payments--yet they still tell us they have not received a payment on our loan since NOV 2021!

Our original loan was sold to this company and we have had issues ever since--this is the worst company we have EVER worked with.

My husband is a VET and this is a complete lack of respect even though your agents "thank him for his service" We will not recommend freedom mortgage to friends, family, or co-workers and will find a new mortgage company immediately if the rates go down again

Desired outcome: We are requesting IMMEDIATE ACCOUNT RESOLUTION and that ALL PAYMENTS BE APPLIED IMMEDIATELY to our account or we will seek legal action ASAP

Freedom Mortgage Home loan

My homeowners insurance is paid through my escrow account in October. Every year Freedom Mortgage pays my insurance, and then tacks on their own policy for flood. My flood insurance is combined with my hazard policy. I get a letter in the mail every year about not having the flood insurance. I respond by sending my policy to the company via the website and explaining my flood insurance is combined with my hazard insurance and still the company adds their own policy. I have to call every time and get this issued resolved. The problem is obviously in the insurance department. This lets me know that they are not reading the policies to see what is actually contained in the policy. I don't know if it's to get more money from their customers or what. This is bad business and not taking care of your customers. There should be a note in my account that states the flood insurance is combined with the hazard policy at this point. Obviously there isn't, because I am currently on the phone taking care of this same issue again.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate if the company would make sure their personnel are trained properly and implement check and balances to prevent these issues from happening. Attention to detail is an essential skill that is needed. Read the policies.

Freedom Mortgage Loss mitigation

Freedom Mortgage took over my house loan back on the end of 2019. When the pandemic kicked in they offered me a forbearance for 6 month and they tried to offer it 6 more months which i did not wanted to get, at the end of the 6 months i was already back at work and i did not have any problems in making my payments so i decided to call them and stop the forbearance. I live in Texas and at the time i was getting my house i also got married reason why i was forced to added my now ex wife to the tittle of the residency, however my marriage didn’t last no more than 6 months and that woman disappeared from my life. The first time i received the paperwork from the loss mitigation department was in around April May 2021, in this paperwork showed my ex wife’s name reason why i contacted them and explained that i was not longer married and to please removed her from the paperwork, at that time they told me they would need a copy of my divorce decree and they will remake the paperwork work to send it back to me, i was informed to still continue making the payment for the trial time ( more that what monthly mortgage was) after i was completed my trial, by guidance of Freedom Mortgage i was told to skip some one month of the payment until i received the following paperwork with the name corrected, in October 18, 2021 i deployed overseas and i did not want to leave without inform them i was leaving for a quick deployment so they can hold the process for the time i would be gone so the incoming paperwork would not be loss, i informed them that i would call back when i would return, however, however i also told them i will continuing making my payments at the meantime through an automatic withdrawal. I returned from my deployment (State side) but to Texas around 26-27 February 2022. I called Freedom Mortgage to resume the process of my loss mitigation process with a new trial payment which i completed while they were working on my paperwork. When i received the new paperwork in around April 2022 my ex wife name still showing on that paperwork, so i contacted them and ask why is the reason that she still showing up on my paperwork and the explanation i got was she was in my deed and to go ahead and go to the Bell county and ask for a quitclaim deed so they can remove her from the tittle, i was told to take my divorce decree to accomplish this. I went to the county and the clerk saw my divorce decree and asked me where was the other party, which i had no contacted with this person since October 2019, the clerk informed me that to get the quitclaim deed done i would need her to sign the paperwork and they also asked me why did i need that, i explained the reason and that it was a requirement from Freedom Mortgage in order to complete my loss mitigation program, they point the portion of the property division in my divorce decree and told me that clearly says there i was the one who keep the house and cars and that divorce decree was and legal document and that would be enough. I called back Freedom Mortgage and informed them of my actions, they told me to send them an email with that information and that would be enough and my paperwork would be continue and she would be remove, in August 2022 once again received the paperwork but once again my ex wife’s name was in it, i called them once more and asked why is this issue continue going on and when this would be over, they explained to me that it was a change on the process that now i needed to submit that information with my signature on ink, and that after that it will be ok and i would be ready to move on, i signed a paperwork where i explained my action at the county clerk and scanned it to them, by September i did not heard from them at all which i went ahead and call them to ask for the status of my paperwork, THEN was when they told me that they needed the quitclaim deed yes or yes because without it the name of my ex would always be showing, i explained to that person that i would not be able to get that quitclaim deed due to the information i for from the county clerks office (explained above) they told me they could not do anything, i called someone else this time i asked for a supervisor, this supervisor explained to me that that was a VA requirement and that she would be an exception in order to my paperwork to move on and smooth the process up, i did not heard from them at all and all the sudden i still getting call from them that i was behind on my payments for an amount over $15,000, which i immediately contacted them and asked what that was about and i was never late or missed a payment, they told me i was removed from the loss mitigation and that i needed the quitclaim deep, that was something i was told over and over and over even thought i explained it couldn’t be done, some supervisor told me they would “help me and to don’t worry” other supervisors and costumer services told me that they need the quitclaim deed, by November-December 2022, they reported me to the credit bureaus as a delinquent on my payment for over 120 days. I do suffer of severe PTSD due to my military service and deployments, this was a very stressful news and i am desperate, I called the VA loan program and spoke with an loan officer who takes charge of my VA loan and i explained the situation and what was the explanation Freedom Mortgage was giving me (explained above, VA requirement) this loan officer contacted them and explained that they did not have any other person than me as a borrower and why i was having so much hard time on move on with my program, they told him it would get fix and that my paperwork would be done. Time passed and I was still in nothing, when i called to make my payment on December 2022 the told me that that payment was not for December that all the payments i was making was for the “delinquency debt” i have with them and that i was payment back all those months, I did not know what else to say other than contact my lawyer, same lawyer who worked on my divorce. The issues was explained, my lawyer had been told it would also get the paperwork fix, after nothing happens in January 2023 we have been calling over and over and over to them in order to get all this issue fix but they’re saying something first and they retract on their words later, my lawyer has a record of how many times we called just in January, please contact: Harrell Stoebner & Russell. P.C. Attorney at law for more information.

On February 16, 2023 i called once again to talk and see what is the status of my paperwork, this new costumer service seem to understand everything, read the divorce decree, the letter submitted by my lawyer and ensure (once again) she would fix this issue to include the credit report issue which is the worst of everything. Yesterday, February 27, 2023 i called to get a status on my process and once again was told the same story of the quitclaim deed and that if i did not get this nothing would happen, that person read about my credit request and she told me they were on the rights to report me due to i was late and that if i did not get what they’re asking me to get my house could go for foreclosure, this last person only typed on her notes what it was convenient for her company but did not wrote anything i was telling according to her I was the one who did not wanted to understand what they HAVE to get, when in the beginning of the conversation she was telling me that if i send back the paperwork for a new loss mitigation they will complete the process, which to me is kind of weird if they did not want to complete a prior loss mitigation due to the quitclaim now they will do it but if i enter to a new process? . Like i said before of this complaint, i suffer a very servers PTSD, these inconsiderate company, are absolutely in disregard of any consideration or they aren’t willing to own they own mistakes and just make the borrowers guilty of their incompetency, i do have every document i am mentioned in this complaint if it’s needed, I am a Veteran and won’t ever recommend this incompetent mortgage company to anyone, inconsiderate, close mind, liars, races, and the worst of anything they deal with many other Veteran like me, and who knows what other mistreatments we get and no one says anything, I will go once more today to the county clerk office and ask for a paperwork that explains what i did and if they don’t want to accept that paperwork i would authorize my lawyer and we start a law sue against this incompetent Mortgage company

Desired outcome: Freedom Mortgage honor me the same APR payments i was offered when this loss mitigation starter. They to repear my credit report and an apology recognizing their faults and lack of communication within their own company

Freedom mortgage acquired my loan from another company , I have made my payments on time for over a year wit them the problem being that the company they received my loan from i was a couple months behind, and they immediately starting adiitional fees because of that. In Jan 2023 they wanted me to pay over 5000 dollars in the Jan payment and would not accept the monthly payment. They sent me some forms to fill out and send back to them of which I did asking for the months that I was behind to be put on the back of the loan. To this day I have not heard anything about a resolution to this problem, they did send someone out to take pictures of the house in advance of foreclosure. Is there a reason for this? I have tried talking with them but already know they just let the worker bees do all the talking. They did send me a statement saying that my loan would increase because it didnot have enough equity. Is this a normal practice? Please provide assistance.Roy Dillard

Freedom Mortgage Loss draft department

I am putting in a formal complaint against Freedom Mortgage. I will follow up by making this complaint to the BBB and any other facility/organization possible to warn other families/vets of what a nightmare Freedom Mortgage is. I called and spoke with Iris on February 23, 2023, regarding the information that was being asked for by Ashly, my loan agent (Ashly has been the most helpful throughout this process). I was informed to type a letter or hand write a letter in regard to the following repairs made by homeowner, and our friends. Along with this letter I was informed to send in copies of receipts showing proof that I spent money on materials. To ask for proof of payment to a store is ridiculous as well. Freedom Mortgage seems to think that someone can walk into Home Depot or Floor & Decor and load carts of thousands of dollars worth of materials and walk out the front door without paying. If the inspector that was hired by Freedom Mortgage reported 100% completion on our part then of course we used some of the funds to purchase material. How else can someone fix drywall, floors, paint, baseboards, trim, etc. without raw materials in hand to do the job? It also seems that Freedom Mortgage doesn’t have full confidence in the inspectors they hire to inspect property owners’ homes nor in the pictures the inspectors sent. I am truly unsatisfied with the lack of respect and treatment Freedom Mortgage has for its customers. If the market was in the same place, it was when we refinanced, I would find another mortgage company. Freedom mortgage advertises that they treat veterans with respect and this fact has been proven to be false. Not that some of the employees of Freedom Mortgage are unfit, but the ethics, morals, and management of the company are what are being questioned. The process to receive our initial funds was a complete disaster and took over 30 days to complete, and now with our final payment, it has been the same nightmare. I have asked numerous employees for an email or phone number to speak to someone above the loss department’s management team and no one has any information, I have searched the internet with no luck as well. I would like a complete explanation of once this information is received how many days it will take for me to receive my final check along with an exact date. Just because this is a multibillion-dollar company does not allow you to treat customers with such disregard. Your company contracted an agreement with me to finance my home and in turn, I agreed to make payments over the next 30 years. I have never been late on a payment; I not only pay my mortgage monthly on time I contracted State Farm Insurance Company to insure my home against any disasters. I have complied with my end of our agreement and Freedom Mortgage has fallen short on its end of taking care of its customers. I would also like a copy of the company’s policies for the loss department timeline of when a customer makes initial contact to the last payment sent out to the customer. I would also like a copy of my homeowner rights when it comes to the mortgage company. Everything I have researched has shown that by law it should take no more than 10 business days to be processed and both the initial payment and final payment have taken over 30 days. What is even more disturbing is I have paid for overnight and 2-day delivery for all transactions with Freedom Mortgage. I have many more notes, dates, times, and personnel I have spoken to in regard to this matter if needed to better serve vets and anyone else using your services. I should also receive a refund of any interest the company has made off of my money.

Desired outcome: I want a copy of my homeowner rights, a copy of the company's policies for the loss department timeline of when a customer makes initial contact to the last payment sent out to the customer.MY MONEY

We have been on this same nightmare! Our check was overnighted to them on July 10th, 2023. We had already fixed everything that needed to be fixed over $100,000 in damages paid out by us. We had the inspector to our house alson on the 10th that showed 100% completion. All paperwork was overnighted with the check and then I uploaded anything else within about 2 days from the time they had the check. Every time we call (every single day since they received the check) they just tell us 8-10 days. We have not received one dollar of the $76,000 check and today is August 1st. The portal says the check was written to us on July 25th. That was a week ago and they still haven't sent it. I am beyond frustrated! We need this money to pay bills that we used our money for to fix our house. Why do they get to hold onto these checks? We already had to hire an attorney to get our insurance company to pay for Hurricane Ian and we had to wait 9 months to even get that money. All I wanted was to fix my house from a category 4 (really a 5 but they won't say that) hurricane and here we are 11 months later still not refunded. This money is not theirs to keep. We have done everything that we were supposed to do. This is ridiculous.

Freedom Mortgage Identity theft, fraud, theft

I purchased my home with Freedom mortgage in May of 2021 and as a 100% disabled veteran living in Virginia I do NOT have to pay taxes on my house.

When Corelogic, which is the escrow/tax recovery company Freedom mortgage uses, pulled my tax statements from my county they would NOT except my tax statement of 0$ which I am granted.

So Corelogic illegally pulled the prior years records that were of the former owner and used those against me.

This is identity theft of the former owner.

And federal fraud against me as I am NOT the former owner and have different taxes, tax rates and discounts.

These are not blanket statements, but fact, as legal statutes are in place to prohibit companies from doing this.

I informed Freedom mortgage of the error in December of 2021 and by Jan had both Freedom mortgage and Corelogic on the phone understanding what they did and promising to fix it.

I was told to contact my county and pull the tax statements to help.

I reminded them of the 1974 ADA protection act as I am 100% disabled and would need help doing this, they didn't care.

My county are the ones who informed me of how Corelogic broke the law and pulled the former owners tax statements.

Then to make matters worse Freedom mortgage didn't actually pay my taxes and blamed the county, just as the county was informing me of the non payment.

This may be confusing but by law as a 100% disabled veteran with a VA loan it is Freedom mortgage's responsibility to handle my taxes, not the veteran's responsibility.

Not only did they NOT fix it but inflated my escrow to accommodate the new tax information that was fraudulent and only months later paying the late tax bill.

This added $300 a month and for the next 18 months continued to bill me and hurt me no matter what I told them.

In August/September of 2022 I finally got someone on the phone that seemed to understand the situation and received again promises of fixing and refunds before Christmas 2022.

This again was a lie and nothing was done.

Then a check for the last 6 months refund came in, however nothing for the prior year.

When contacted Freedom mortgage stated they couldn't send me a check for the remaining tax refund and could only refund into the escrow. This is a blatant lie as we had received the prior refund check AND it is against federal law to hold more than $500 dollars in overages in escrow and those overages must be refunded to home owner.

Freedom mortgage then blamed the county treasurer for not sending them back the overages. Another lie as the county did but to an address Corelogic gave them that they now "claimed was no longer in use".

The county treasurer when asked at ANY time during the 18 months for the refund said it was illegal for them to give it to me that Freedom mortgage had to.

Freedom mortgage agreed with this fact but said they were always waiting on the monies from the county to be given back to them after they over paid the taxes from the escrow.

Another lie as the county had proof of checks sent, not once but twice.

Freedom mortgage refused to address the situation at the start of 2023 and refused to work with the buyer in sorting this out even though the buyer is who had the documentation, tax papers, and all other proof of incident.

On Feb. 18th 2023 the checks were refunded by the county treasurer under instruction of Freedom mortgage against federal law.

As I can only access this was so Freedom mortgage didn't have to contact me or deal with me.

No formal apology for 18 months of hell, no apology for the fact that the 300 dollars per month stolen from the veteran was their food money for the month.

Do NOT trust Freedom mortgage or Corelogic !

Freedom mortgage customer service refused to help, the tax department refused to help, Corelogic refused to help.

When they finally agreed to help after threats of publishing what they had done and proving what they had done they said to always ask for a supervisor when calling in BUT stonewalled me be lower customer service never allowing me to talk to the supervisor.

Do NOT trust Freedom mortgage or Corelogic !

Desired outcome: I would like a formal apology and the interest gained in 18 months on my money as they had it and refused to return in.

Freedom Mortgage Insurance payment

Our mortgage was purchased by Freedom Mortgage sometime in September 2022. This was during Hurricane Ian. We had no knowledge of this as notifications sent to us via mail were ALL delayed due to the hurricane. We got a PA to handle our claim with our insurance company and payment was made November 2022 right before Thanksgiving. The payment check was in the name of the old mortgage company, and therefore held no interest in our home and the check therefore voided. This was a setback, however things happen. The insurance company placed a stop payment on those checks, and reissued new ones. The new checks were received by my PA, sent in the mail, we signed them and sent to Freedom Mortgage to the address both the PA and myself, via 3 way call received on 12/23. I diligently sent them overnight, and paid for them to overnight back to us, little did I know that is not how it worked. The packet was received by Freedom Mortgage on 12/31, however the address provided by Freedom Mortgage customer care to our PA and myself was incorrect. We were told to mail to an address in South Carolina when it needed to go to Troy Mi. When I realized this happened, now 01/16/2023, the insurance company was again notified, stop payment placed on the 2nd set of checks now received and again to await new checks to be issued. In the meantime, since we received checks in December, we hired the roofing company to replace our roof. The company trusted us, as they saw checks in hand and everything seemed fine and commenced the job. The job was completed in 01/2023, and awaiting confirmation of receipt of payment of what we thought we were going to get checks endorsed by mortgage company and sent back. At this point, is for the 1st time when we were advised of the process of holding the funds, until repairs, inspection is started, during and after completion. Never prior to 01/16 despite the numerous follow up calls that we had to make to get updates, were we advised of this process. At this point, our claim and concern to Freedom Mortgage is that we must have the funds to pay the roofing company as they have already completed the work. At this point, I requested a supervisor which I was told due to a holiday (01/16 MLK Day) none were available but a request would be put in to have one call me back within 48 hours. Never received the call. Again, I explained to the CSR ALL we have been through since 10/2022 and our mortgage being sold and checks issued 1st time to wrong mortgage company, 2nd time sent to wrong address. No accountability from anyone. We finally got our hands on all documents needed, we signed everything requested from a contractor W-9 to a Waiver of lien and everything in between. We were told 5-7 business days once received to be processed. I called today 02/15 to find out if received. Now I was told that a invoice of the work completed needed to be sent in. I asked how was I going to know this, if no contact was made to me by Freedom Mortgage and was told a letter was sent in the mail on 02/10. GREAT! MAIL! Another 5-7 business days for us to receive a letter telling us that we need to mail in another document. In the era of technology, a letter was sent in the mail to further delay the process. At least I was given an email address to send the document back! GREAT! I contacted the roofing company AGAIN, and requested this invoice. I emailed the document back to Freedom Mortgage as requested. I followed up with a phone call once again, to ensure document is received, and ensure this will suffice the request and not further delay the process. This time, I was told that it will take 2 business days for the email to be reviewed, uploaded to our case and determine if this meets the required criteria. At this time, I proceeded to explain to the CSR our ENTIRE ordeal back to 10/2022 and explain that I just received notification from the roofing company of lien procedures being started due to nonpayment of services. I asked him to please understand and that I need a supervisor which I have requested to speak to for a month now, and still nothing. He advised me no supervisor was available at the moment, and one would have to call me back within 48 hours. It is a cycle at Freedom Mortgage. All I read is the negative experiences of their customers. Why? I am asking for help. I am asking to speak to a supervisor/manager and no one is available. How are they allowed to run a corporation where a customer that pays their money is NOT entitled to speak to a supervisor? Are the CSR's running the Company?

Desired outcome: We request that Freedom Mortgage pay our roofing company for work they have completed and has been inspected by the City as well as independent inspector. We also request our funds released by Freedom Mortgage immediately

Freedom Mortgage Loss draft department

Following a flood I had checks sent to me. In the meantime construction was finishing up on our home and contractors were demanding to be paid. The process with Freedom Mortgage is a drawn out process. You need to send the adjusters report and give them several days to review that. Send the endorsed checks in and give them several days to process that. Request for an inspection. Then they have several days to have someone contact you and several more days for the inspector to come out.

I followed the process and was told there was one page missing on the Adjusters Report. I found that page and sent it in. It is now three weeks later and the inspector has been out and I was waiting to hear from them. I called and was told they only have one page from the adjusters report. I told them they had the others to which they said we need them altogether. So now I'm being told to send the entire report once again and they will review it and restart the process. Meanwhile we've had to pay $100,000 to contractors and it is 4 days before Christmas all while Freedom Mortgage sits with $110,000 from my insurance company.

Desired outcome: I would like an apology and expedited payment of MY money that they are holding because of their incompetence at completing their own ridiculous process.

Freedom Mortgage VA Loan Mod

I have been strung along for almost 8 months now, no one knows what they are talking about on the other end of the phone. Although I have recorded documents as being sent somehow freedom never gets them all. I was dismissed from one program after being told i was approved, I have a VA loan. I was lied to and taken advantage of. Still, no one knows anything- even the escalation team-approved finally for traditional loan modification and when I called to clarify things they told me that it was a mistake it should've been a partial claim through the VA and it should take no time to just transfer the paperwork-6n months later now, i am not eligible for either?

Desired outcome: i want to be placed in the partial claim as i was told i would be i don't care how they do it they should honor their word

I have learned through experience always send letters to anyone U.S.P.S. because once it gets into the Federal Govt hands and is delivered to Freedom Mortgage nobody can say they didnt receive it. Always remember the United States Postal Service is Federal. You can take anyone to court if the U.S. Postal Service delivered it and it was signed. Trust me after you do that, I can promise you Freedom Mortgage will respond back as received! :-) No regular mail, no faxing and no emailing!

Freedom Mortgage Tax office

I Flayton Greer loan#[protected]

2021 box cyn, noanvile tx 76559

I have been dealing with this issue since October 2022 when you'll sent out a payment of $2988.57. I have been paying $1,843.56 since April of 2021. I move in my house which was built from the ground up on May 3, 2021, which First Community Bank had my loan. I am 100% Disable Retired Veteran, I haven't paid taxes since 2014, I am exempt from paying taxes. Your Tax Department has all my paperwork, my tax-exempt papers from Bell County, my tax appraisal district of bell county Disable Veteran Homestead Exemption showing $0.00. Teh refund that the tax office sent back.

Everything supposed to be taking care of, but it is now December and it not. I am not paying no more than the amount I suppose to pay ($1843.56). You added another property ID on to my account. MY ID is 486108. I notified my bank and the only amount that coming out is the scheduled amount. So, you tried once trying to pull out more so now I have a returned fee so now I have my Lawyer involved. I will not pay for something you'll made a mistake on. I will be calling Mr. Stanley Middleman in the morning because I have a miss payment and I don't do miss payments and see can he fix this issue we having and next I will contact my Lawyer after that. Freedom Mortgage I want my credit report fixed

Since March 2022 Freedom Mortgage has been reporting my payments as late. We have been trying to work with them to get this fixed but to no avail they will not fix it. We call weekly to get them to change my payment from late to current. They have now gone as far as saying they are starting for close on the residents but when I call they say it isn't because the payments are up to date and not to worry about it.

Freedom Mortgage Negligence during loss mitigation

I am writing related to my experience with Freedom Mortgage while going through the Loss Mitigation application process for our VA loan. I have been attempting to get my loan current and the account back on track since January 2022. I have kept track of every single phone call made to Freedom related from requesting a notary appointment on multiple occasions to get the 1st approved application completed, all the way to this morning after receiving a "denial" to my submitted appeal. Every single document and requested piece of information was sent over and on multiple occasions representatives stated they didn't receive the items, even with proof of my submission. I was told the original application expired due to documents not being received, which was in no part due to me not sending them. In total I have had to go through the application process 3 times in 10 mths, and finally once Freedom stated all of the necessary steps on their end were complete the original repayment options we had with the VA expired on 8/31/22 and our mortgage would go up almost $500/month! I explained the personal reasons why we couldn't afford that increase and that we shouldn't be penalized due to Freedom's lack of processing our application in a timely manner. I wrote and submitted an appeal and requested all of the recorded calls between myself and Freedom be reviewed when I sent in the appeal. That was never done, and they denied the appeal based on inaccurate information in their system. My requests have been "escalated" on several occasions over this year still with no timely resolution or even a call back most times. I requested again this morning that the recorded calls be reviewed in order to support my claims that I in no way contributed to documents not being received in a timely manner or lack of communication on my part. I repeatedly called and requested updates on the status of our loan and even sent messages and documents through their online portal.

Desired outcome: My request be escalated within Freedom Mortgage leadership for diligente review of my appeal to confirm claims of negligence on Freedom's behalf. I request my original approved application be granted at the agreed upon rate.

Freedom Mortgage Escrow Account Closure

I did everything that I was told to do to close my escrow account. After several phone calls and emails, my request to close my escrow account on 11/1/2022 was denied. This is the worse mortgage company ever on the entire planet. My mortgage has increased several times without proper investigation of VA disability property tax benefits. If I can find an investor to take on this mortgage, I would pay it off and move on to a company that is customer-friendly and not money hungry. My account is supposed to close over 30 days after I requested the escrow account to be closed. I paid my property tax early because I was told the escrow account could not close until I paid the property tax 60 days early. I asked Freedom Mortgage to produce it from the balance in the escrow, and they refused to do it. More interest payment for Freedom Mortgage, I guess.

Desired outcome: Closed escrow accounts immediately and refund money in the account.

Please do not call, email or fax Freedom Mortgage! Always send documents via United States Postal Service. Why United States Postal Service is Federal once Freedom Mortgage received your documents. Therefore it's no longer your word against their words because the Federal Govt is now involved because they received your documents and they dont want to go to court over that. Thank me later! :-)

Freedom Mortgage Lost draft department

It has been pulling teeth dealing with the lost draft department at Freedom. Checks lost, slow turn around, just terrible. Now Freedom sells our loan to Truist. It is the 15th of October and Truist still has not received any of our claim information. Our house is demolished, we are currently unable to finish our construction. This is gut wrenching and we do not deserve it.

Desired outcome: Expedite our check.

Freedom Mortgage Refinance Issue

I refinanced my mortgage with Freedom in April 2022. One condition stipulated on my refinance documents stated I had to pay off all debt I had at the time. Freedom issued several checks payable to my debtors. After 90 days, the title company called me to inform me that a check for $11,844.74 payable to Credit One Bank was not cashed. The check was voided. The title company told me to contact Freedom Mortgage to have them send the title company a statement to release the funds to me. I have called Freedom Mortgage for the last 3 weeks and emailed my loan officer too without success. Every time I call, I am either transferred to the Servicing Dept., then to the Refinance Dept., and then to the Whole Sale Dept. They put me on hold for hours! Literally hours! As I am typing this message, I've been on hold for 1:25:35! They are not doing their job. All I want is the funds released to me since I've been paying interest on it. I faxed them a statement from Credit One Bank showing zero balance on my account and a letter requesting Freedom to take action. They continue to ignore my request. You can contact me at [protected]@hcps.net or (813) [protected]. Thank you.

Desired outcome: Please refund $11,844.74

My home repairs company awaits their money. During the process, Freedom Mortage has refused processing of the two checks for many months without any reason except the dots and t's does not meet with expectations of their company even though expectations of the insurance company who sent adjuster, inspected property sent me a check with Freedom Mortage and myself needing a signature to pay creators their just payment. Freedom Mortage has maintained my money in their bank account, collecting interest fees and at this time my Home Repairs Company now is requiring interest payment. This incident is occurring weekly from Jun 18 2022 to today's date. My last correspondence with them is Oct 4, 2022 with the prepositive statement of it takes two weeks to process a check.

Freedom Mortgage Late payment reported when it was not late

Made payment from different account. After receiving a confirmation number on 6/30/22. [protected] that payment was received. Later spoke to Sierra at Freedom Mortgage who told me that payment was returned because there was one number missing from the account. She stated " this will not be counted as late, because it was only because a number was missing when payment was submitted. Re-submitted payment on 7/15/[protected].

Then I check my credit score and it was listed as late payment! Needs to be removed by Freedom Mortgage on all 3 credit bureau's.

Desired outcome: Late filing for June 2022 needs to be removed from all 3 credit bureau's on mine and my husband's credit!! We are both on the mortgage, they have that information on file!

Dear Annehu,

This comment was meant to be posted to show my solidarity with your husband and you, but I posted it under another complaint about a payment not being received.

The exact same thing happened to me just days after you posted this comment. I live in Durham, NC. Supposedly 5-6 times between August 16th & 28th 2022, they called me to tell me that I was late. They automatically waived the late fee, but no one could explain the reason. The reason is that they received the payment on time from my bank account, returned to me just over a week later. I unfortunately hadn't noted this mortgage payment had been returned until 1 am on 9/1/22. Each employee to whom I spoke was very nice, except one manager. And that person seemed to take great pleasure to inform that my credit would be screwed up for 7 years by this oversight on my part supposedly.

Per their policy, they are supposed to leave a generic voicemail to call back (without revealing has to do with a payment). They leave plenty of vm's to sell me additional services, also text, and email. And when I block those other departments from calling them, they put 'Restricted' on the phone call to leave an additional voicemail. This very unhappy vindictive manager informed me to begin the appeal the process with the three credit bureaus. And so that same day I called each of them.

None was very helpful, except TransUnion. I guess that employee just took pity upon me and said your payment is shown paid for August, but if what I said was true that a couple months later this ding would show up on my credit report. Many those service level employees gave incredibly honest responses (because it should be known that Freedom Mortgage is gutting itself and moving most of their operations overseas). And this TransUnion employee said I have strong case to appeal the ding to come in the near future. He did acknowledge convincing all three credit bureaus will be a minor miracle, but he wished me well. I have not reported this to the NC AG Josh Stein (I should because Stein is fanstastic). Nor commented on any public forum until I got crappy electronic service again about payments today. The entry level employees that are in call centers for now in about 1/2 dozen cities in the US, including Jacksonville, FL, are not to blame for their awful website, payment system, and confirmation of scheduled and actual payments. The corporate overlords appear to have as little use for these employees as they do their customers.

Thank you and definitely feeling your headaches of 'My Freedom' which is that the thing (as if it is meant to be flag waving in the breeze) that appears when you are moving one part of the website to another. The irony of that internal feature is just hysterical and pathetic simultaneously.

Furthermore, to the best of my knowledge, you will need to present the evidence to each credit bureau. This forum I am guessing doesn't have much success presuring the company.

I have yet to begin that process (and don't believe it has yet shown up on my credit reports), but I will probably take my own advice and report Freedom Mortgage to very my gutsy and incredible NC Attorney General Josh Stein. He was the first to sue Juul (RJR) and then other states followed. And then there was that settlement. But he is constantly fighting for the rights of NC citizens and informing the public of the most recent scams.

Freedom Mortgage Loss Draft Department

We were impacted by a tornado on July 7. I received my insurance check late July. I contacted Freedom Mortgage and followed their procedure. Since the check was under $40,000, all I needed to send was the check and the adjuster's report. I had them overnighted. They received it on July 26, but did not "upload" until July 28. It was supposed to be completed within 7-10 business days. I called on 08/02, we're working on it; 08/09 "Guillermo said they had 5 business days and then another 10 business days for the processor to stamp it. I asked him the date that time was up, he said on 08/17. I called on 08/17, talked with Jennifer. She gave me the entire script (same one). So far, everyone is sending an email to the processor to try to get it speeded up. I called again on 08/19, as I paid for it to be overnighted back, and it's "still in process". I told them to note on Monday, I will contact an attorney. I received a voicemail on Monday 08/22 from Taylor. I called back, talked to Andrea (after a 30 minute hold) She said the endorsement process is another 10 business days, and the check was sent for endorsement on 08/20. She's sending yet another email for an update.

Desired outcome: I just want my insurance check back so I can get the tornado damage repaired

Freedom Mortgage FHA Loan

They missed one Lot of my property, and had made wrong escrow analysis since then. My monthly payment was raised by over $1K from $4,600 to $5,500, with wrong numbers Freedom put in the Statement. There are only 2 lots in my property.

* The concern was brought up 4 months ago, and I was told they are still researching

* Went back and forth with different employees there in Customs Service and Tax/Escrow team and no specific staff assigned to address the issue

Desired outcome: No RESPONSE YET

My suggestions moving forward only send letters U.S. Postal Service because it's Federal Govt. Also look into getting a forensic mortgage audit done. IF they are found guilty, you make walk away not owning anything.

Freedom Mortgage Lack of communication with insurance companies upon purchase of a loan...

Freedom Mortgage purchased my loan from FBC Mortgage. They never sent any information to my insurance company to update the mortgagee. My policy was 3 days from expiring. I was told it would take 4 days before they could even print the check. I called and spoke to Michelle at Freedom Morgage to get this fixed. She received my email with all the documents, and when I asked what I was supposed to do about the timing she hung up on me, and I had to start the entire process over again.

Desired outcome: Put a policy in place to update mortgagee upon purchasing any loans in the future. Consumers don't get the choice of when the loan will be sold and to who.
