Rude cashier
Hello, good afternoon I would like to complain about the cashier on counter #5 in food basic leamington branch at 3:25pm today, june 23, 2022.
I got in her lane and she is about to finish on the customer she is assisting, so my instinct and my common sense told me that I have to get the bar to separate the items of different customers to avoid mixed ups. I put it in the moving conveyor and then she turn on me giving hand signals I honestly dont understand what it meant. She is pointing the bar or the items I dont know at first, so I assume it was the items she mean to say and put it in the vonveyor but I was shock I was wrong and she got mad and yell “put it back!” it was very rude and it made me feel upset as my children saw the whole thing happened and how the cashier treated me. I gave her a sharp look and dont want to make any scene as my young children watching me how should I react of the rudeness of the short asian old lady cashier who assisted us. As my items finished scanning another customer did the exact thing I did earlier but this time she is not mad and she is very welcoming to the next (canadian lady) customer. She made me feel like I dont deserved to be treated well or she have her different treatment to different customers? That is not right and she should act like a grown up in front of small children. I feel disrespected and degraded by the way she treated and gave service to me.
I am not happy on your staffs service. I hope you will do corrective actions about this matter.
I am a nice person but I know how to stand for my right when somebody is disrespecting me and I will not tolerate that kind of attitude towards me especially in front of my kids.
I just regret I didnt use the self serve : (I hope you will helped and do the right thing to do.
Thank you and have a wonderful day.
Desired outcome: talk to her at least or move her in another branch so I wont see her anymore. Sorry but she is unbelievable
Customer service/incorrect labeling
June 10th 2022
I picked up a case of Blue Gatorade to purchase upon check out the barcode was not scanning, i told the cashier the price that was advertised and she asked a colleague to go confirm. Colleague confirm price and that all cases were in tack none were broken, she called a manager that approached my shopping cart and cut out the plastic wraper and started arguing that they were all sold individually I mentioned to the manager that all cases were fully intact which he replied to i don't care i guess noone has cut them up. I told him that he had no business in going into my shopping cart and cutting up my package without even actually acknowledging my concern.
This is not how you treat your paying customers and I would like to see another manager as he was threatening me he informed me that there are no other manager in the building and that I am not purchasing those for the $5.49 price point and I could pay the full price. I asked him to leave and asked the cashier for the headoffice phone number which was not provided instead she gave me their store's email address.
The so called manager Azar than turned to the cashier and told her that i was not to purchase the Gatorade. The entire irony in this whole situation was that there was another couple looking at the same Gatorade as I was looking at which they purchased a case for $5.49 2 cash registers over from where I was standing.
I have never been so humiliated and threatened in my life by manager that has no manners or customer service.

Tainted milk
On April 29th 2022 I purchased a 4 liter bag of Lactancia 2% milk. When I opened one of the three bags from the 4 liter bag on May 1st 2022 I drank about a half a glass full of it. It tasted bad and when I took the main bag out of the fridge and looked inside; it had a horrible awful smell to it.
When I took it back to the Food Basics store on 889 Goyeau St. Windsor, On. I asked to speak with the manager. When the manager approached me I shared with him that I have been shopping at hes store for the past 13 years and have spent a lot of money in hes store. I then shared to him about the tainted milk I had just digested and also shared with him it was not the first time I had to bring milk back. Twice in one year I had to.
After sharing that info he did not ask me if I was ok, or ask me any questions concerning my well being. He then tried to skirt the issue and pass the blame on to the company who makes the milk. I said to him, "it is your responsibility to insure you are placing products in YOUR store that are safe for the customers who shop here". I asked him then what he was going to do to compensate me for the situation (travel, time, my health concerns for drinking it). Again he tries to pass the buck and blame the company the milk is from. Again I say to him "no it is your responsibility to insure a healthy and safe store for customers".
He disrespected me by minimizing the situation and just said you can exchange it or get your money back and walked away. When I said to him as he walked away "is this how you treat your customers and their loyalty shopping here for 13 years?" he just kept on walking not caring in the least bit. This is not how you treat people and I would like to know what can be done to resolve this injustice.
Thank You.
Desired outcome: At least a store gift card and a sincere apology.
Complaint
I went to Foodbasics, 1875 Regent Street, Sudbury Ontario, Canada around 11AM, March 30, 2022. The self-check out staff Llord gave me a middle finger and humiliated me in public when I checked out. I only had two items in the cart. Vine tomato ($88c per pound, in total $2) and a cauliflower ($2.50). When I put the tomato on the scale, a phone call came...

Cashier #132
Products I tried to buy were at the end of an aisle with .99 as the price. It was the selection brand canned red beans, medley, black beans, chick peas. No where did it say a different price. When I went to cash out, they were priced at 1.29. The cashier (very pleasant) wanted to be sure they were .99 so she asked a manager. The manager confirmed they were 1.29. The couple beside me stated it was false advertising. The managers response was," No, on this side of the isle it states 1.29" I responded to the cashier to go ahead and remove them from my order, then the Manager said "well if she is going to continue to argue with you, give it to her for .99". I replied I was not arguing and told the cashier to remove them. The cashier was very nice about it. The manager's response was rude and not at all professional.
Regarding False Advertising, I invite you to read: https://www.competitionbureau.gc.ca/eic/site/cb-bc.nsf/eng/03133.html
Desired outcome: Review of hiring processes, training & retraining. Store pricing should be clearly marked for all items no matter where they are in the store.
Self check out and attendant
In Bracebridge, ON on February 23 2022 at approx 8 pm, we went to cash-out our groceries, utilizing the self-checkouts since the lineup for regular cashiers was quite lengthy. The cash we chose had little or no room for bagging, it was very awkward and didn't allow for easy cash-out. While we juggled our items, we were being stared down by a Food Basic...

Hi you've been selling bratwurst like sausages in your cooler, 14-15 for $10.
You seem to have switched that to 12 recently. Is that permanent?
Your $10 "cowboy" frozen steaks have gone from 10 to 0ver $12. Is this a permanent increase? The price has remained the same.
These represent around a %20 increase.
This in last few weeks; presumably all stores.

Service re shopping buggies
The Food Basics store at Albion Rd. and Thisledown Blvd., (Bostock Plaza) had their shopping buggies stolen some time ago. Since that time, the buggy situation has been dire, with few buggies available, especially in peak shopping times. This morning, I, a Senior, went to the store to find that there was not one and I mean, not one, cart in the stalls. When...

Entering the store there are 2 side arms that swing away
upon entering the food basics store on highland road in kitchener ont. my joystick on my right got caught on the side arm and proceeded to bend. i will need a service call to repair it. i could not drive it home. the cup holder on the other side of me was completely bent. THE MANAGER in the store said there was nothing they could do not even write down what happened. the girl at the produce offered me an elastic band to fix it. i dont see how this was my fault and i would like an apology and reimbursement of the cost to fix it. my wheelchair is the only way to get around so if something happens i sit at home until it gets repaired. this happened at about 1100 today . the manager was simply no help and i was visibly shaken up. all the manager did was keep going over to the door to check it saying its fine. you need someone that has some compassion.

Visited the location Niagara Store #858 - Montrose Road-Once a loyal customer- The pharmacist refused to sell my granddaughter Acetaminophen (I asked her to get for me while shopping) James the pharmacists tells her "no" ...yet when my daughter went she was able to buy it. I found this out and approached this rude member asking "why did you refuse to sell to my 23 year old granddaughter yet sold it to my daughter. With his pompous rude attitude said "Cause I can, I don't need to" He repeated this over and over. Then he bluntly lied. One thing to say "oh we are out of stock" he just simply said "No" no explanation. However when I asked him why he repeated " Cause I can" Rude. I spoke with the store manager letting him know of this situation...next thing you know a staff member that was behind the pharmacy counter came into the conversation and she too lied...stating "It's a narcotic" Yet when asking her now why they refused she as well lied and stated "oh I could see her mother was buying it" yet How on earth did they know my daughter and granddaughter were related they both stood at different windows far apart from each other;... she as well lied and told me to "watch it" this being a threat...Never had I ever dealt with such unprofessional behavior. When I know this "James" person is working I avoid him as often as I can he is horribly horribly rude...not what you would call a people person. Do a mystery shop on him so this could be validated. Rude and unprofessional liars. Competition is strong here...this store can be bypassed...He certainly is not a "people person" Horrible horrible Done!
They sound so professional.
Fool, just because someone told you no does not mean they were rude to you.

Very rude, unprofessional employee.
Making people wait unnecessarily longer for no reason at all, acted like she was apart of the covid swat team. In no way at all did her handling help reduce any covid transmission we felt as though she was just on some sort of weird power trip.
I own a business and I would be embarrassed to have this woman working for me.
I shop here often and never had an issue before.

Your current online flyer on page 1 shows fresh n.Z. Lamb leg for $3.99 per lb. I was unable to find it at 900 albion store may07/2021 and asked a lady clerk. She said that store does not carry it and every store has a different flyer. This is ridiculous! why should I waste gas and time lining up for nothing? won't waste time again looking at your flyer or wasting my gas. Jim [protected]@gmail.com

I roasted one of them on April 23 and attempted to eat it but there was little bit of meat on it and there was also feathers still on the chicken. Also what meat there was on it was very rubbery.
