Fandango Media review: Tickets to Oppenheimer

Purchased 3 tickets to the Oppenheimer film at the Regal Theater, Union Square in NYC, starting at 6 PM on Friday, August 4th.

There was a giant disturbance at Union Square one block north of the Regal Theatre. When we were a block away, we encountered a total police blockade preventing us from getting anywhere near the Regal Theater. We told the police we had theater tickets. They told us we could not enter the theater because the whole area was blocked off due to the disturbance. The police said, "You cannot enter the theater." To the question "what about our tickets?" they replied, with authority, "The theater will issue refunds." Are you sure we asked? They said "yes." Numerous emails and calls to Fandango resulted in their stipulating they only give refunds before the film starts. But we could not enter the theater and show our tickets. So it was impossible to cancel before the performance. In support I am sending a copy of our ticket confirmation.
