Extra Space Storage review: Absolute thieves

I rented 2 large 12x29 units in Hollister, CA. in 2025. I was hoping to stay for the duration needed until a final new residence could be obtained. I paid for 4 months in advance to get the units and save $$ in monthly pricing as required. Before my 1st next payment was due, I received notification BOTH units would be increased by over 40% in rates! That is hi-way robbery! I was still located in another state, and was forced to go find new storage facilities, then travel to move out both units before outrageous new rates kicked in. I tried to talk to the local managers, plus corporate sales to inquire if a long term discount or at least some kind of compromise could be reached, but was just met with total indifference from all parties! Basically, it was if you don't like it, move out! That's the way it is, is what I was told.

The facilities were nice. The people get you in, then you are on your own!

I would burn my stuff in the street before I would ever go back to Extra Space Storage facilities! I highly recommend you search for alternative sources, or be ready to pay out the nose!
